Wow what an amazing place!! I booked this hotel last minute for a break for some rest and sunshine and I was NOT disappointed! ✔️ Free delicious welcome drink (lemongrass) and cold towel ✔️ Massive shower in the bedroom ✔️ The staff are so friendly and hospitable ✔️ USB ports and English plugs (no need for an adapter if you’re from the UK) ✔️ So much is free e.g. Teabaz, snacks at the bar at 18:30, glass bottomed boat, snorkelling… ✔️ Free drinking water ✔️ Never stayed in a hotel with proper coffee in the room before! - ground coffee and cafetière!! Soooo good and beats those gross instant sachets. ✔️ Absolutely stunning sea view from my balcony! ✔️ It’s quite a small and intimate place which I liked, the staff remembered my name and room number which made me feel special ✔️ THE FOOD!!!!! Omg it was incredible!!! Always so much choice!! And if for some bizarre reason nothing takes your fancy on the daily buffet, the chef will rustle something up for you in the kitchen. I’d read reviews before coming about how people wanted more choice for food, but I honestly did not understand this - there was always soooo much choice and such a range of delicious things I never got bored. 👏 The most positive thing for me was the hotel’s ban on single use plastic and their impressive ethos to protect the environment - such an amazing thing and it needs to be supported! If there is only one reason for you to go to this hotel this should be it! They have a ‘bulk shop’ where you can collect little glass jars and stock up on stuff - what an awesome idea. A few negatives: ✖️ The cleanliness could have been better - there were stains on the towels and sheets. Also the pool was always dirty. ✖️ The wifi was pretty weak and I couldn’t get it in my room - I suppose if you want a week technology free it’s a good thing! TOP TIPS: 👉 If you don’t want to use the reusable water bottle the hotel provides you may want to bring your own - I did and was very glad I did 👉 They provide crepes/pancakes every morning for breakfast and at tea time from the street food van but they don’t have Nutella! If you can’t have your pancakes without Nutella I suggest bringing some of those little sachets. 👉 I brought quite a lot of snacks with me - didn’t eat any 😆 You can get delicious snacks from the bulk shop like dried mango, nuts, sweet stuff, and it’s all local. Also I ate so much at breakfast I was full most of the morning! 👉 I was glad I didn’t go full inclusive - I went half board and only needed that. For lunch I ate some of the delicious street food and it was so cheap! 👉 I went as a solo female traveller and felt perfectly safe, there were several other solo females there too.

I recently visited Preskil and I was appalled by the service. I feel compelled to bring to your attention an issue that concerned me during my stay. I observed instances where a certain manager was fraternizing with guests in a manner that appeared unprofessional. As a guest, I believe it’s crucial for the hotel staff, especially managers, to maintain a level of professionalism and impartiality. He was so busy flirting that he did not pay attention to the other guests. I tried to get his attention, but it didn't matter. I understand that fostering a welcoming environment is essential, but it’s equally important to uphold boundaries between staff and guests. Such behavior can potentially compromise the integrity of the guest experience and the reputation of the hotel.

Initially we booked 4 nights here with a plan to extend our stay or move on somewhere else. We were a bit concerned with some of the negative reviews but it definitely looked our sort of place - a small property with stunning beachside location that offered a limited facility all-inclusive. Well, we arrived after the 12 hour flight from London to be told they were overbooked and we’d been “upgraded” to their sister hotel, Preskil Island Resort (see separate review). Our brief view of Astroea Beach left us wanting more and so after assurances from Southern Cross that we would not be overbooked again, we decided to spend the remaining 5 nights of our Mauritius holiday here. Accommodation We booked a 2 bedroom bungalow and were allocated 205 which has a direct sea view and easy access to beach. It looks like rooms have been spruced up with comfy, but firm beds and a newish sofa in the lounge. There is a mini bar fridge, included on the all inclusive package (beer and soft drinks topped up daily). The bathroom had a new loo and washbasin but the tiles seem to be have been part painted in emulsion by a small child or visually impaired person. The grouting is pretty grim too. The electric shower is an instant Triton heater so water pressure is compromised . There is no hot water into the bungalow so I had to boil the kettle in order to shave in the wash basin, but this was no real hassle. There was an air conditioner in each bedroom which was effective, albeit noisy. Despite some poor decoration in the bathroom, everything was kept spotlessly clean. Food and Beverage We loved the small, part-open restaurant directly above the beach. Breakfast had a selection of fruit, cereal, pastries, bread etc with a toaster for the bread. There was a bean coffee machine if you wanted something different to the filter coffee and tea was served in a teapot, essential for us Brits. There was a number of hot items for order including great omelettes, eggs, sausage (chicken), bacon and crepes. Lunch was a good choice menu of salads, pasta, burger, fish and paninis. The choice of all-inclusive items was more limited and did not seem to have a logic as to why they were included or not, but we loved the fish “burger” which was actually a large fillet of sea bream. Dinner was 3 courses with a choice of 2 items for each course, which you selected at breakfast time. This was absolutely fine by us and avoided food waste. All food was freshly prepared (with love) and cooked to order from the tiny kitchen, so this could take time, which was absolutely no problem when you had the amazing view and you are on holiday. The all inclusive drinks were good for the price point. The wine was Cape Bay South African which was perfectly OK. Phoenix lager was on draft and there was even large glasses (0.6l). Double measures of spirits were no problem on request and there was a selection of cocktails. You signed for drinks and your meals at the end of each session. Beach and grounds Stu

What a lovely time spent there. Hotel clean, well maintained, perfect staffs attitudes, good food. Yogesh in the restaurant was great, good Profesional service even the responsible and other staffs also. Keep up the good works mostly all these new youngsters in the hospitality section. The free shuttle available was great and helpful. Thks again all team, not to forget Room service quick responses and kitchen team, Bravo. Hope 2 see u all next time. Bonne continuation. Es kann nicht besser sein. Perfektes Hotel, zwei grossartige Golfplätze; Personal, dass einem jeden Wunsch von den Lippen abliest und auch erfüllt; top Restaurants. Nichts, was es nicht gibt. Falls es fehlt, das Hotel organisiert es. Einfach perfekt!!!👌

From the moment I stepped into the establishment, I felt welcomed by the friendly staff. The customer service was top-notch, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff was attentive and courteous, and they went above and beyond to ensure I had a great dining experience. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty meal and exceptional service, a big thanks to Jean Edinho and Sandiren..

We had a phenomenal 4-day stay at this exquisite beach resort. Pravesh and his team are absolutely awesome. Thank you so much for the most memorable stay at your exquisite resort with impeccably clean rooms. Our housekeeping lady was so friendly and cleaned our apar**ent to perfection. Trishna and the beautiful tall lady at reception were just amazing. Thank you for helping us and for being so awesome. We highly recommend Mont Choisy Beach R, and we will definitely be back and won't stay anywhere else but here. Thank you so much Pravesh you run a beautiful property, and you are doing it phenomenally. Also a big thank you to the maintenance team and the gardener who's got the most beautiful garden.
