Hotel berhampiran Ruder- und Tennisclub Germania e.V., Cologne

I arrived at the hotel alone at around 11am where I intended to wait until my partner arrived to meet me. There are no staff there and you check in manually on a computer. As check-in is not until 3pm I went to the lockers at the far end of the lobby to put my suitcase away. As I was putting my case away a large group of 6 men, possibly more, surrounded me in front of the lockers. I'm a petite woman and they were all over 6 foot tall. They were dressed up for the Carnival parade and had clearly been drinking heavily through the night. They surrounded me and said things like 'oh wow you're beautiful', 'hello beautiful'... when I continued putting my things in my locker they continued to close in on me saying 'smile, smile, you should smile more' and 'you would be a lot prettier if you smiled'. At this point with nobody else around and feeling extremely scared for my safety I told them to leave me alone, squeezed past them and went into the ladies bathroom where I planned to wait until they left the lockers. I could hear smashing bottles as they were so drunk they dropped a few of their beer bottles on the floor. The main door of the ladies bathroom did not lock and one of the men came into the bathroom just a few minutes after me. I was terrified and screamed at him to get out and leave me alone. He left the bathroom but the men continued to stand outside the door for at least ten more minutes while I waited scared inside for them to leave before I could make my exit. This was a truly traumatizing experience and ruined what was meant to be a romantic weekend away for my partner and I in Cologne.

The pluses and negatives of this hotel are: Good Points: Premium location, the hotel is only a short 10 min walk down the hill and to the right from the station bringing you to a quiet courtyard 1 block back from the main Heumarkt square (left hand side of the square) A modern, boutique sized hotel Comfy bed Quiet from an outside noise perspective, especially given its next to the main bar / restaurant areas of Cologne Clean Negatives Pillows too soft Double rooms very compact with minimal storage space for luggage Walls very thin, you can hear every conversation clearly of your neighbours Continental breakfast at 15 euro was overpriced imo for the choice available if not included in room rate No bar/relaxation area to sit in, if you are wanting to use hotel facilities to relax No tea/coffee making facilities in room, kettle available on request Walk in shower was nice but as bathroom is so small you end up having a slippy floor, and be careful of the floor rails where the glass shower panel runs as raised and easy to trip over Mini bar was empty other than 2 complimentary bottles of water (not that we usually purchase from mini bar) but worth noting if you do Overall on a personal note we paid a high room rate for our particular 2 night break due to it been a peak weekend of events going on in Cologne which were unknown to us when we originally booked the flights and decided on this hotel. It was not worth 500 euros, I would say 350 / max 400, and this is mainly due to the location. Perfectly functional for a short break at the right price.

Stayed for two nights. Easy to get around. Close to all amenities, lots of restaurants with different cuisines in the area. Small room with double bed nicely decorated and comfortable enough unspite of little closet space. Clean. There are no shower cup, and just soap for all your body parts, including hair. The staff provided me with a kettle upon requst, so I could have a cup of tea in my room. Continental breakfast is very satisfying. And this hotel has the best cappuccino in Koeln.

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and the best hotel from Accor Hotels. I had accidentally booked the wrong dates for my stay. As soon as I realised it, I contacted the hotel. The staff helped me to change my reservation dates. While on my trip, due to the strikes in France and problems with the train connections I had to postpone my meeting online. I sent an email to request to check in early since I will be having my meeting at 1 p.m. Ms Wulff made the necessary arrangements prior to my arrival. On my arrival I was able to check in early and able to proceed with my online meeting. Without her help I would not be able to conduct my meeting. On the next day, I had another online meeting. Her colleague made the necessary arrangements so that the housekeeping team could get the room cleaned before lunch and my next online appointment. Till date I have stayed in a number of hotels from the Accor Hotels group. In comparison to M Gallery am Konzerthaus in Wien, Hotel Mondial am Dom in Cologne exceeds my expectations. Professionalism The staff at the reception were not only friendly and good at what they are doing, they are also willing to help and went an extra mile to make things possible. I would not have been able to get my work done if they did not help me. Even when checking out, the staff was professional and showed interest to assist customers whenever they dan. Splendid Location Situation a few minutes walk from the train station and the main city area, is this hotel definite one of the most strategic location in Cologne. View of the Cathedral I managed to get a glimpse of the cathedral from my room. Dinner I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was not only affordable, the service was impeccable. The waiter even suggested where I could sit so that I can get the best view of the area. Awesome! I would like to thank the remarkable staff for making my stay in Köln memorable und unforgettable. I would definitely be staying in this hotel again when I visit Cologne. In German (Deutsch) Das Hotel Mondial in Köln ist mein Favorit und ist mit Sicherheit das Hotel von der Accor Hotel Gruppe. Ich habe bei der Buchung das falsche Datum eingegeben und musste meine Buchung ändern. Die Mitarbeiterin. hat mir geholfen meine Buchung zu ändern. Wegen Streiks und Probleme mit Deutsch Bahn musste ich meine Termine verschieben. Ich habe das Hotel gefragt ob ich früher einchecken kann um mein Termin online wahr zu nehmen. Frau Wullf hat alles für mich arrangiert damit ich meinen Termin online fortsetzen kann. Am nächsten Tag habe ich auch einen Termin online. Der Kollege von Frau Wulff hat mit dem Housekeeping-Team koordiniert damit das Zimmer von 13 Uhr fertig gereinigt ist. Dadurch könnte ich meinen Termin um 14 Uhr wahrnehmen. In diesem Hotel sind die Mitarbeiter:innen nicht nur freundlich sondern auch hilfsbereit. Diese Motivation ist leider eine Seltenheit auch bei den Luxus-Marken von Accor. I stayed for 2 nights on a trip through Europe. The hotel is centrally located, just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Cologne Cathedral. What I liked: The great location. The friendly staff. Exceptionally clean. Great Breakfast with lots on offer. Easily accessible. The bed was comfortable. What I didn’t like: The room I was given was tiny with no window. It was so so hot and sadly that affected my sleep. The room had air conditioning but it didn’t work and just circulated hot air. However, the kind man on reception offered me another room, but I was already settled and for such a short stay didn’t want to pack everything up again. Regardless of that, I’d be happy to stay here again and the price I paid was incredibly reasonable, being so close to the centre of the city.

Hotel ligt vlak bij de Dom en het centraal station in een rustige straat en beschikt over een eigen parkeergarage (tegen betaling) die wel vrij nauwe ingang en nauwe parkeerplekken heeft. We arriveerden tegen het middaguur; onze business comfort met 2 separate bedden kamer was reeds gereed. Inchecken verloopt snel en effectief in de kleine receptie. De kamer beschikt over een badkamer met baddouche en toilet. Er is een raam dat open kan. Ondanks dat de kamer aan de straatzijde op 1e etage ligt is deze rustig. Er is koffie thee op de kamer beschikbaar. Vlak naast de receptie ligt de grote ruimte waar het ontbijtbuffet met ruim voldoende keuze geserveerd wordt. Vanuit het hotel loop je binnen 5 minuten via de stationshal het stadscentrum met alle belangrijke bezienswaardigheden (waaronder de Dom van Keulen) in. Er zijn voldoende restaurants in de omgeving; het hotel heeft geen restaurant voor lunch of diner.

Die Lage ist gut, zu Fuß ca. 15 Minuten zum Dom, in einer einigermaßen ruhigen Seitenstraße. Zimmer sind sauber und gut ausgestattet aber klein. Hier sind wohl einige Häuser zusammengefügt worden, es wird deswegen wohl Unterschiede in der Größe der Zimmer geben. Schöne und große Auswahl zum Frühstück, welches auf der Website für einen unschlagbaren Preis inkludiert war. Tiefgarage gegen Gebühr vorhanden, zu breit sollte das Auto dafür nicht sein. Check In und Out hat wunderbar funktioniert.

Location is about 10 mins walk away from the station (there an uphill but it is okay) the staffs are friendly and the room was good but the sheets and towels had stains on them. They also do not have a boiler sadly. View from hotel was good.

The Courtyard Marriott of Cologne was clean, beautiful and a great location. It was a short walk to the Central train Station and near all the sights of Cologne. I was only there for one night and did not get to experience the breakfast as we checked out before it was served, but they did provide me with a lunch box which included a ham and cheese sandwich, a banana and a water. There is coffee and boxed water 24 hours a day in the lobby. The beds were super comfortable and the temperature of the room was ideal, as we had control over the air conditioner, whereas other hotels we stayed in the same week, did not allow us control and we were very warm. The room we had was a nice size and the view was of the empty courtyard which was extrememly quiet and definitely highly desirable. Front staff upon checking in, was not friendly, however after check in everyone else we came in contact with was very friendly. I didn't get the ladies name at the front desk, but she definitely didn't give us a positive welcome. Glad her shift ended and everyone else we dealt with, and passed was extremely friendly and that is what the experience should be like.
