Beautiful hostel in a really good location - five minute walk from Como S.G. Station and five minutes from the ferry terminal. Super clean, great amenities and the staff were all sooo friendly. The hostel is a real social spot in the town, a lot of young faces and energy, even during the off-season. Would highly recommend!

WOW - this is just the most magnificent boutique hotel and a truly exceptional position. It’s super close to the lake AND shops AND restaurants - we only had a day and a half but I would gladly come back for a few days. One of our rooms had a window view directly our over the lake (302) and the other had a little balcony that offered views of the lake. (403) . I preferred the 302 room but my daughter said that it was a bit noisy due to the stream of cars. The rooms are comfy although I always dislike the joined single beds to create a king bed with a join. I always seem to end up stuck in the join (no matter how small the crack😂) The decor of the hotel is like a plush reminder of the 1930s - I felt like George Cluney might come round a corner at any moment. The building is superb and VERY picturesque. Service has been excellent and we feel very privileged. We have just finished breakfast in the most divine outdoor setting in the hotel grounds overlooking the lake. It is a bright blue sky and the wind is calm - I don’t think life gets much better than this.. Last night we dined at Ristorante Sottovoce which was a mere 100m away and absolutely as MUST do while staying at the perfect venue. “It’s such a shame we’re only here for one night” , my wife just said. But we still have a few hours to do a guided but tour with a private captain/guide - so there is still more special-ness to enjoy.

I was on a Northern Italy Lake Tour with my mom and best friend with 25 other people. This hotel was the second stop of our trip. The travel company selected the hotels, so we were at the mercy of where they put us. If you like rock hard beds, wafer thin pillows, scratchy rough sheets, semi clean rooms, abrasive and rude staff, then this is a place for you! The two stars are for excellent wifi connection and speed and friendly housekeeping staff. This is clearly a very busy hotel. Every time we went through the lobby there were groups checking in. The sign said the air conditioning in the hotel would be on until 10/22, and we checked out before the 22nd and it was never on. Rooms were stuffy and hot. We had to ask about opening the window, which we had to sign a waiver (understandable - there are no screens). Each bed had one very thin pillow. When we asked for 3 more (one for each in the room) the look of dismay and surprise from the person at the front desk was almost comical. The fridge in the room was stocked daily, but never was cold enough to even chill the bottles. We had the same waiter two nights and he was miserable, unfriendly, inattentive and just down right rude. I tried to be friendly to see if it would help - and it didn’t. When asking for directions at the front desk the person seemed annoyed that we asked, was very curt and snotty. Even when looking at other staff they all looked miserable - no one smiled. At least the housekeeping ladies were pleasant and greeted you with good morning and a smile. Not an overly welcoming experience and I couldn’t wait to check out and continue on our trip. If I was to come back, I certainly would not book to stay here.

Very good staff and facilities. A relaxing experience by Lake Lugano. They really pay attention to details (in our case, a surprise bday cake). They even have a transfer service to Lugano center. A 15 minutes drive to the outlet stores in Mendrisio.

PPengguna TetamuThe studio was located in the old town, 9 mins away by feet from the Saint Mary Assunta Cathedral and 12 mins away by feet from the ferries' piers. Self check in was possible (though I was offline, so opted for standard check in). Great staff. The studio was spacious, clean, with all the amenities I needed. Bed and pillows were very compfy. Wifi was available for free. Self check out was simple.

PPengguna TetamuWe lived in Como for a while and walked past this hotel every day. It's literally on the lakefront and as central to the centro storico, the bus station and the train station as it is possible to get. We always thought it would be a nice place to stay. Roll forward and we had reason to visit Como again this week so we booked it. I also booked another room for someone we were planning to meet in Como.
The hotel is one of those elegant old-school hotels you could imagine from reading about the grand old days of ('old' in the sense of traditional, elegant and sophisticated - but not 'old' in a 'tired' way). Imagine the exact opposite of a modern steel & glass skyscraper hotel and this is what you will find here.
Staff were very attentive and friendly (while still being unobtrusive and professional). Food was excellent. Maybe the breakfast was a little but expensive but that's the way it is with hotels - just book it with your reservation and you'll save. Dinner in the restaurant overlooking the fountain (twice) was fantastic. Many of the dishes were not as expensive as local tourist ripoffs elsewhere in the City. The Cotoletta Milanese was as good as I have ever tasted anywhere in northern Italy (imagine a soft, succulent Veal steak covered in breadcrumbs) and big enough to share 1/3 of it and still be full afterwards. The Lunch menu was better and less expensive than places with much less quality on the menu.
Overall, I would happily recommend the Palace Hotel to anyone. Treat yourself and book a room with a Lake View. You won't regret the extra few Euro.

PPengguna TetamuWe chose this as our base for a first ever short (3 Day) trip to Como. This was squeezed between 2 days in Milan on either side of the visit to Como - a week in total. My reason for selecting this venue was that it had a small pool & sun deck which I thought I might use to relax between 2 busy days in Milan. As it turned out I did not spend very much time at the pool as there was so much to see and enjoy in Como itself. There is a number of noteworthy features to this venue, which is at pains to point out that it is not an hotel. The property is beautiful and located in a quiet part of Como. The limited services provided are well delivered. Booking in was efficient and the proprietors have a welcoming and informative guide book and very useful hints on places of interest and restaurant tips. The suites are fairly basic but are large and provide all of the items you would need for a short stay. Our suite had a small but attractive balcony which caught the sun most of the day. The pool was neat and tidy and well looked after but caught the sun only up until early afternoon due to it’s proximity to the surrounding private houses. In fairness this may have been partly due to the time of year. To counter the fact that there is not always staff on the premises, guests are given 3 keys - 2 of which open the external entry gate and the normal entrance door - the third key is for your suite. The staff encourage you to pre-select your breakfast preferences by completing your requests (on their breakfast menu) before 7 pm the night before. When you sit down for breakfast the staff recognise your specific breakfast choice from your key fob! We are not big eaters in the morning however I imagine some guests might find the breakfast fare a bit ‘modest’ if they were hearty breakfast types! It is important to comment on location. We were well aware from previous reviews that the Suites were a bit away from the main drag and that there were steps to negotiate going and returning from Como itself. It is a decent walk from the Suites into Como itself and the steps were steep and would definitely not suit people with walking difficulties.

We had the apartment with the outside small terrace, which was great to sit outside and relax after a day out. Apartment was beautifully set up. The host could not have been more helpful and sent messages with recommendations for restaurants, tips for boat trips and timetables for the hill railway.

Jika tiada pemanduan sendiri, ia hanya beberapa ratus meter dari terminal dan stesen bas terdekat. Terdapat pasar raya besar dalam jarak beberapa ratus meter, jadi mudah untuk membeli segala-galanya. Hotel ini mempunyai pemandangan yang sempurna dan terletak di tepi tasik. Anda boleh menikmati pemandangan Danau Como yang indah dari lobi hotel dan taman hotel. Kebanyakan bilik harus mempunyai pemandangan yang sangat baik. Tiada rancangan lain untuk menikmati pemandangan di hotel ini sangat memuaskan. Keseluruhan kemudahan hotel juga ok, 4 bintang tiada masalah, dan peralatan tempat tidurnya sangat selesa, yang dianggap sebagai tahap yang sangat baik di antara 4 bintang. PPengguna TetamuThis hotel was assigned as part of a package with a river cruise company, so I did not choose it myself. One of this property's strongest assets is its location. It sits behind Piazza Cavour, which is right on the waterfront promenade of Como. You really cannot get a better location, as it's walking distance to all the popular spots in Como. Our tour company paid for the Lake View Double Rooms, which gave us enviable views over the square and the lake. We even had a lovely semi-private terrace to sit out there and enjoy the views. Others in our group did not have a terrace, and were disappointed. Our room had two twin beds which were fairly comfortable, and the room was a decent size. The furniture and decor are all belonging to the 70s-80s era, and are in need of an update. The bathroom had so many problems. The sink didn't have enough shelf space / storage, and there are never enough towels. There was barely enough legroom between the toilet and the bidet placed directly in front of it. It just took up needed space. I absolutely detest the kind of shower/tub combo that was in this bathroom. The narrow bathtub with tall walls is extremely dangerous, as you cannot safely turn around in it while showering. Then add the ridiculous half-piece-of-glass that allows water to get all over the floor, and you have a huge safety situation when trying to step out of the shower onto a wet floor. In fact, a member of our tour group fell in the shower and ended up in the hospital. Afterward, we were offered rubber tub mats for traction - but at a minimum, those should be provisioned in every bathroom by default. More ideally, a walk in shower should be installed. There are only 2 elevators, and both are miniscule. So expect a wait, or take the stairs. The breakfast room got crowded with all the tour groups there, and the available items were mediocre. There was no self-service coffee/latte machine like so many other hotels in Europe have, which was a disappointment. Overall, this hotel has many good and bad features. If you care more about the location, this may be a good choice. But if you care more about quality of the accommodation, then you may want to look elsewhere.

Nous avons apprécié : - La taille de l'appartement #4. - Sa propreté et la qualité de sa rénovation. - La localisation de la Résidence. La présence de deux TV et d'un climatiseur. Nous avons déploré : - L'accès à l'intérieur de l'immeuble, très mal sécurisé. Il nous est arrivé de pouvoir entrer en plein jour sans badge ou sans clé. - L'isolation phonique médiocre, tant par rapport à la rue qu'entre les appartements voisins ou supérieurs. Des résidents ou touristes mal élevés nous ont réveillés plus d'une fois en pleine nuit en parlant bruyamment. C'est inadmissible. - La salle de douche spacieuse mais dont l'agencement laisse à désirer. Peu de place pour ranger ses affaires de toilette. Aucun verre à dent. Nous avons dû utiliser les tasses prévues pour les boissons chaudes. L'éclairage y est de piètre qualité, mal orienté. - La VMC est efficace mais excessivement bruyante. Elle ne fonctionne pas en mode discret en continu, simplement avec l'éclairage de la salle d'eau. - L'absence de consignes de départ. Nous avons donc laissé les clés sur la table de l'appartement. - Il est annoncé à tort que le B&B dispose d'un parking. La solution la plus proche convient cependant, à 25 € la journée.

Location- hotel ideal location near to ferry . 10-15 min walk to cable car. From como railway station . Go down the stair from the exit of the station. Follow the pedestrian crossing and go down and walk straight into the town . Easy .
Hotel: super clean . Air con was super good and cold ! I love it . Room wise size is ok. Ruben was helpful and explain to us what to do for our W day stay . Where to take ferry. Where to take cable car . He was nice and smiling .
Food: I did not opt for breakfast as there are many food around . I had twice the gelato for nearby shop. It was good !
Overal. My stay in room 403 was great ! Check in and out was easy .
Please stay here. At night I also went to the square juat below and chill out with food .

PPengguna TetamuHad a wonderful stay. We only had a private economy room with a bunk bed and shared bathroom but it was very comfortable, exceptionally clean and simply but nicely decorated. Honestly, couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. It was incredible value for money and in terms of location it was hard to beat too. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to others too who are looking for simple yet affordable accommodation by Lake Como. Once again, I cannot emphasise enough how tidy and clean the accommodation was.

HHuggieSRLVery happy with the location near the lake on the edge of town. Priced well below other local hotels and I think this is because the whole hotel, but particularly the rooms, are in need of refurbishment and are quite dated. However, the room was clean and functional and so for a one night stay, not really a problem. The staff were all really friendly and they unexpectedly had on-site EV charger at a really good price. Absolutely no issues with this hotel and when it gets the refurb, I am sure the prices will double.
