"We checked in at Oaks Elan on 21 November 2025, the day before Cyclone Fina hit Darwin. My husband and I were impressed how the staff kept us informed of what was happening. During breakfast on 22 November, we were told by the manager that the restaurant will be closed until further notice because they have to let the staff go home to be with the family when cyclone hit. We were told to pack whatever food we want from the restaurant to last us for lunch, dinner and possibly breakfast for the next day. We were glad we didn’t go hungry when there was no where to get food when everything was closed. The manager who held the fort on the day and the next day did a very superb job! He rolled up the sleeve and did everything himself when he was obviously very short staff."

"Enjoyed our stay at H on Mitchel because of its central location. Bed was comfortable and water pressure good. Informed reception on checkout that shampoo dispenser had come off the wall and basin tap was faulty. Roof top pool gym and BBQ area had a great view of the harbour and spectacular sunsets. Staff were helpful and check in and out was quick. We had breakfast in the restaurant and there was plenty of choice. Would stay there again."

"The room wasn't cleaned. The floor was sticky and the bed was covered in hair on the first day. These were removed upon request. Stepping out of the balcony overlooks a parking lot. The pool is in the courtyard, facing the front door. Conclusion: Value for money There are definitely better options in Darwin for this price."

"Lovely sized room.  Lovely staff  No where to put large take away containers in the bin.  There was a dental pick in our shower on the towel rail for a few days, the cleaners obviously didn’t see it. I ended up chucking ito it myself.  Freezer in bar fridge didn’t freeze, fridge not real cold either.  I asked for extra quilt and towel - great service with that.  Breakfast great. Coffee really good.  Good parking"
