My staying in this hotel was beautiful. Location is very good, service is excellent. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is modern, very clean, breakfast is very good too. All foods was fresh and tasty. But only one question: why spa is available for additional charge in such level of hotel? But in general I'm satisfied and come back to this hotel with pleasure.

This hotel is really a bargain for how nice it is. I found the service to be impeccable, breakfast buffet was incredible and the location is right in front of a metro station. A bonus is the contemporary art collection which reminds you that you are in Madrid and not just any nameless, nice hotel. I love the schluter brass detailing in the bathroom and bedroom walls. These design touches add such gravitas to a stay, even when short. Bravo, I would stay here again.

The location was convenient. The breakfast buffet was perfect, it had a good selection of food, beverage and cereals. The room was clean, cozy and well decorated. The bathroom was confortable and had everything we needed. I asked the reception for a sewing kit and they had it on hand. So I would recommend this hotel.

This was our first stay at the Principe Pio Hotel, we booked a room with a Palace view. On arrival we were upgraded to a top floor suite by very friendly staff on reception. The room was delightful and looked like it had recently been decorated. We had terrific views of the Palace. The room was kept in tip top shape on a daily basis and nothing too much trouble for the staff. One minor gripe was the mattress was a little firm for our tastes. Our first night was inadvertently spent with the windows ajar and it could be noisy as it’s on a main road combined with the peacocks calling from the palace garden. From then on with the windows closed it was absolutely fine, the aircon worked very well and was whisper quiet. Although this is classed as a 3* hotel we had a safe, fridge and tea making facilities to make our stay really comfortable. There is a roof terrace with plenty of seating to enjoy the sunshine too.

Excellent hotel with 10/10 facilities, short walk to the metro and train station. Enjoyed the gym and the lovely big rooms. - great shower and very clean. Would Definitley return next time I’m in Madrid, takes less than 20 to get into town. Lovely staff at the bar and cheap beer.

Overall a good hotel and a pleasant stay. It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room as well as complimentary water which isn't too much to ask these days. The breakfast area was too small for the number of guests and there was only one coffee machine meaning there was a permanent queue. There is a small gym which desperately needs air conditioning and would benefit from some music.

This hotel was great. The room was huge and overlooked the airport. The pool and spa were a great time to relax for a couple of hours. The meals my girlfriend and I had were also really good. Would definitely recommend.

As a Marriott Titanium / Lifetime Platinum Elite Guest, our family [husband, wife and two young daughters] decided to visit Madrid, Spain to start our month-long 2023 summer vacation in Europe. We spent five (5) nights at Westin Palace Madrid using our Bonvoy points in late May / early June 2023. Please see the thirty-eight (38) photos we posted with this review of all aspects of the hotel. Within days after making our five (5) night stay using Marriott Bonvoy points approximately ten (10) months prior to our arrival date, we emailed General Manager, Pablo Flores and advised him of our future stay as well as our special requests, including our request for an Executive Suite, which would comfortably host our family of four. Within hours of our email, we received a thoughtful reply Paloma Hidalgo, Director of Rooms, whom immediately provided us with a complimentary guaranteed upgrade to an Executive Suite and further, Ms. Hidalgo readily granted all of our other special requests. The prompt response did not come as a surprise to us given how active the management of this property is in reading and promptly replying to past guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott Bonvoy website, which is but a mere sign of management’s commitment to exemplary customer service. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response and really looked forward to our future stay at The Westin Palace Madrid. This gorgeous historic hotel is magnificently located in Madrid overlooking the Neptune Fountain and less than a three minute walk to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, less than a five minute walk to the Prado Museum and less than a ten minute walk to the Reina Sofia Museum. It is also extremely close to Retiro Park and is within an easy 15 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Gran Via as well as many bars, restaurant, trendy cafés, market and other cultural attractions. You can easily walk everywhere throughout the entire city but public transportation options abound in close proximity to the hotel as well. Our initial visit to the Westin Palace Madrid did not disappoint, especially when the hotel accommodated our extremely early check-in (before 9:00 am). The check-in process with Ms. Hidalgo, Estefanía Martinez, Front Office Assistant Manager and Juan at the reception desk was a breeze. Further, Ms. Martinez was kind enough to personally escort us to our suite and show us all of the features and amenities of same. This was very thoughtful on the part of Ms. Martinez and very much appreciated. Throughout our entire five (5) night stay, Ms. Hidalgo and Ms. Martinez were especially helpful and friendly. We simply loved our Palace Executive Suite with slightly over 1,000 square feet in total space with a sublime view of the Neptune Fountain; it was truly remarkable. I booked this property mostly due to the access to the pool. Much to my dismay on check-in, I was told that the pool only opened from June 1 - Sept 30. This wasn't stated on the 3rd party site. The mattress was rock hard! For the first time in my life I had to place a pillow under my hips in the middle of my first night as the surface was too painful. Aside from that, the rooms are large, clean and the hotel is well-maintained. The fitness room was also well-appointed. The hotel is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood, mostly residential.

I chose this hotel mainly because it is relatively closer to the airport (I have an early flight next morning) - when I came from the airport in a car around 1pm, it took 20 minutes. When I left the hotel to go to the airport at around 9:30am, it took about 15 minutes. Windows cannot be opened “for your safety”. 🙂 it allows early check in, but at €10 🙂 it allows you to store your luggage there for free 😐 it you need a hairdryer or a kettle, you need to put down €10 deposit. They will return it to you when you give it back. Just less convenient 😕 the “free wifi” as seen in my booking page is only for the lobby. You need to pay €3.99 to use wifi in the room. Not expensive but just doesn’t make you feel good. 😕 there was hair on my bedsheet, though not a lot (I saw two short curly ones which doesn’t look like hair from head…)
