Hotel 3 Bintang di Hue

I recently stayed at Hue Serene Palace, and unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The hotel is older, and while it was relatively clean, it felt quite dated. The decor and facilities are clearly showing their age, and it’s not as modern or fresh as the photos online might suggest. The rooms were tidy, but the overall atmosphere was not what I expected based on the pictures. If you're looking for something sleek and new, this might not be the place for you. Another downside was the limited breakfast. The selection was quite basic and lacked variety, which was disappointing if you're hoping for a more substantial meal to start the day. On the positive side, the location is convenient and the staff were friendly and tried their best to assist. However, the hotel could use a major refresh to match the online photos and provide a better experience for guests.

Amazing hotel with great staff! The breakfast was also fantastic and the room very spacious. The bed slept comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. We had the Deluxe Balcony room, which is located at a buzzling street. We didn't do proper research and didn't realise this hotel was in a busy and noisy street. It's very fun but do realise you'll hear a lot of noises (loud music and karaoke) until around 11pm on a Saturday. We didn't mind since we were only staying for 2 nights

This is my second time at this hotel - October 2022 and November 2023 - and both times Hue flooded but this time with a substantial amount of water and mud coming into the hotels first floor. The family who ran the hotel worked tirelessly throughout the night and early hours of the morning to make sure the lobby and its contents would be clear and ready for the arrival of guests the next day. They were exhausted but still managed to be on the sidewalk greeting our bus with a smile and a wave as it arrived. The hotel is pretty basic and the bar and restaurant have been closed since covid. But it’s clean, well located, has comfy beds and is extraordinarily inexpensive. I’d come here again and again because I love the family that runs it.

Our original hotel turned out to no longer be in business so we stayed here last minute. The room we were given had mould on the ceiling and felt very damp, as air con did not work (probably hadn’t for a while considering how damp the room felt). When the man at reception fixed it for us (it just needed the remote reconfigured to the AC unit), it sounded like a beat up old car choking on its own fumes. I decided to clean the filters which were PACKED with dust. Clearly had not been serviced in a very long time. This made all the difference and the AC worked perfectly afterwards. The shower pressure is great, but make sure the shower head is facing the wall when turning it on otherwise the water will go everywhere. The holder is very flimsy. Did not replace our soap the whole time so just used one tiny bar for 3 days. I tried using the hair dryer but it started smoking when I turned it on, a bit of a worry and a fire hazard. The pool is nice, although when going at night there were never any lights on, and most of them don’t work when turned on at the switch (if you can even find the switch). Overall, a very average stay for the price, definitely needs some maintenance.

The manager is very nice, change room for me to nicer room when complain about toilet smell. I did not realise the air cond not working properly after I came back in evening and basically the controller can not turn on off or control the air conditioner at all, in top the air cond only blows air at 1 speed abdc1 temperature not cool enough, end up sleeping not much at all while night because of very hot in the room with air cond not working properly. Not trying to tell people how to manage hotel business, but as manager they should check the conditions of rooms, which are good or bad, cabinets doors, corridor carpet need to be replaced etc, if they want to attract more customers, and regularly inspect the rooms, don't wait till customers complain then try to fix problems. apart from all these hotel manager is an absolute nice person. Feel not easy to leave this hotel because she is so nice, but I need to have cool room to sleep well. Motorbike rental is very nice from this hotel, she offer half day rate because I arrived at 2 pm. You can do better, try harder, proactively doing things. Room has 2 nice windows and a nice balcony garden. Location of hotel is right in the centre of night eating place and walking streets.

I felt it was time to write a review of the Than Thien Hotel given that I have stayed here many times over the years. Every time I have been welcomed with open arms by the friendly, courteous and helpful office staff. They remember me and always look to find me the rooms I like. They will also call you a taxi, make an onward reservation or book a local tour with a smile. As I'm an older guest, so I really appreciate that the Than Thien has a lift (or stairs if you like the exercise!) The rooms are spotless, and the international cable TV reception is clear. Best of all the walking street is close by with all the restaurants and cafes whilst the Perfume River is 5 minutes away for that early morning walk in front of the citadel. It's become my go-to hotel in Hue at a fair price range. Enjoy it. Gregory Australian

Place simply recommended. I can just tell you that our stay was so good that we doubled here our time in Hue. Room: We took a deluxe double room, which had a king bed and bath tube. In real the room seems a bit smaller than in picture, but spaces are ok and there is a shelf where you can store your belongings. Bed is stable and very comfortable. As complimentary you have every day water, instant coffee (with condensed milk, better than standard nescafe) and a small snack. Cleaning: Room clearance consist also of towels and bed sheet changing. The bathroom kit includes toothbrushes, comb and cotton buds. We stayed many days and the room was always really sparkling spotless. Staff: the girls at the front desk (Ruby, Tho, Sarah and Hoa) are exemplary: always welcoming with a smile, kind and ready to help. They truly treat us as family ＜3 Also the guys from the night shift are nive and always kind.
