The hotel was great and we loved our stay! The room was clean and spacious as well as the hotel itself. The reception staff was super friendly and helpful plus they have a nice bar and restaurant. We did eat breakfast there in the morning and it was perfect! There was lots of seating and plenty of breakfast options. They do also have a pool there but we did not get to go in. It looked clean and well taken care of. The location is amazing and we would highly recommend staying here!

We’ve stayed at the Frost & Fire now around 5-6 times as we’ve always loved it so much. On a recent visit though things weren’t quite the same great service we’ve been used to. We booked a table in the restaurant (one of the highlights for us as the food is amazing) but because of a large group in they asked if it could be later which we were OK with. On arrival we were given the normal menu and the tasting menu and decided on the tasting menu, only to be told the chef wasn’t doing that now as it was too late (well why give us the menu!!) So instead we ordered from the a la carte, had a lovely starter and main course. We then went to ask about dessert only to be told the chef had gone home now. To me it sounds like the chef is more important than the customer, doesn’t want to do the tasting menu and can’t hang around for dessert. I understand the times people work but don’t take bookings if you can’t fulfil them. If we’d been told during main course, the chef is leaving soon, do you want to place dessert order we’d have been fine with that but to not get that as an option and just “sorry, no dessert” is real poor management. Admittedly the food is great at the hotel but there’s now a whole lot more competition in Hveragerdi that there used to be, vying for people’s custom.

Finishing my route through the golden circle, my husband and I arrived at this place. It was an excellent choice, the apartment was huge, clean, and super comfortable. It had two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen with all the utensils, and two bathrooms. Also in the common area, they had a wooden tub with water at 40 degrees and another pool with water at 35 degrees, and a sauna to enjoy a relaxing time. The sheets, duvet, pillows, and mattress wow super comfortable, and I highly recommended it, we could have spent many more nights but we hope someday to return.

Great extra amenities. Easy access location, I even found a yarn shop nearby (Bobby's). Really liked the food options, and the shops are well thought out.

Great value, close to Reykjavik located in a small town. Geothermal park is located walking distance from this motel Price very reaonable compared to Reykjavik prices. Small motel type guesthouse located away from highway near centre of town in quiet area. Rooms have private bathrooms despite being listed as a guesthouse. Kettle and coffee/tea provided in room. Fridge also in room. Microwave in lobby. Bonus (the grocery store with the pig logo) is about 8 blocks away. Enjoyed stay so much we extended from one to three days.
