Hotel di Innsbruck-Igls

Probably my 10th stay at this hotel. It’s been rather rustic and run by the same family for ages. However the pandemic has changed things - some for the better some for the worse Better - easier passage from main entrance to rooms in the east wing and spa - well functioning free parking Worse - all staff seem new and not very well trained - on check out the bill included my already prepaid room and the lady did not, at first, understand that this was wrong - renovated room. Nowhere to place clothes etc. No shelves- no cupboards. Glass “door” to bathroom with 30 cm open space at top and bottom. Weird, even when traveling w spouse. Very cold, icy electrical light in room. You hear other rooms very well. We twice woke up 5 45 from an alarm clock somewhere else. Never happened in any hotel room before.

This hotel should not be advertised as a Bed and Breakfast. Breakfast here is an optional extra, with an additional £300 a week expected for a family of four. No bar, no food, poor facilities and bedding that can only be described as pure punishing. The staff are friendly and the place is clean but my family will most certainly not be returning.

The Alphotel Innsbruck is probably the worst hotel we've ever stayed at! But we had no choice since we were on a tour package and this was the hotel that Gate1 chose for our itinerary. We weren't the only tour members who did not have a good stay at this hotel. Our tour group had a long day and we were scheduled to arrive late so we were all pretty tired when we arrived. Unfortunately the room we were assigned to didn't even look or feel exceptionally clean and I'm surprised I didn't take photos of the room! Comparing posted photos of the rooms on TA our room looked much older and didn't even have a real chair, but only one of those small round ottomans. And that ottoman was dirty and stained, so we didn't want to sit on that! The bedspread had that ”ick” factor, so we removed it but at least the sheets were clean. Carpet looked grungy so we made sure to wear our slippers and not walk barefoot on it. Regret not taking pictures of the room now. We've stayed at hotels with older or ”tired” decor but they were at least neat and clean, but not at this hotel! Now the ”fun” part was our bathroom door. I was getting ready to take a shower and went into the bathroom, but wanted to use my own soap and toiletries, so I went out of the bathroom and my husband (who was standing in front of the bathroom, looking at the closet or something right across from the bathroom) shut the opaque glass bathroom door. I went back to the bathroom and tried to open the door and it was locked! It was one of those simple privacy type locks where there's usually a pinhole that you can usually press and it'll pop open. Unfortunately, there was no pinhole but a screw so I tried twisting the screw but the door remained locked. Husband tried but it kept turning and he didn't have any tools so he called the front desk and they sent the maintenance guy up. The maintenance guy looked at the door and tried twisting the screw with the same results and said he needed to go get his tools. He returned with his small toolbox and tried several screwdrivers, with no luck. Then he tried using a small drill to remove the screw and still couldn't get the door unlocked. Meanwhile, we were sitting on the bed and watching tv since there was nothing else we could do. I texted our friends who were also traveling in the tour group and assigned to the room right next door to let them know what was happening. And to apologize to them for the loud racket, as the maintenance guy went and got his large power drill and was basically removing the entire door knob and panel. So the guy had to destroy the whole door knob panel because the door lock screw or nut inside the panel was probably stripped and couldn't unlock or open the door; so if I was on the other side of the door I would have been stuck in the bathroom! Biliknya cukup besar dan tempat tidurnya selesa, kembali beberapa kali dan semuanya berbaloi, kecuali kekurangan ubat gigi / sikat gigi dan tempat tidur. Sarapan pagi senang dicuba. Semak lewat adalah tawaran baik yang anda berikan. Secara keseluruhan penginapan yang baik! Bar di tingkat 12 juga menyenangkan untuk bersantai pada waktu petang. Tempat Letak Kereta di tingkat bawah, sepanjang 18 €!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is in a convenient location for getting around - next to the train and bus station for links to the airport, international/national trains in other cities, the Swarovski crystal world and around a 10 minute easy walk to the old town. We were checked in early by a very friendly lady on reception who initially let us store our luggage. The snow capped mountain views from the room (ours was on the 8th floor) are stunning and framed perfectly by the big windows. The hotel reception and room was stylishly decorated. In the room, there was a small window that could be opened and the air conditioning was very quiet, though doesn’t go down to the 10c on the thermostat and seemed more like 20c. The bedding was very nice quality and had a soft and firm pillow - these were probably the most comfortable pillows I’ve experienced in a hotel before. The bathroom is, again, very modern with nice smelling hand wash and shower gel/shampoo. The shower head had a few different settings, including a massage mode which ran for a few seconds. The shelf for the shower gel/shampoo wasn’t very strong though, so had to be held or rested elsewhere and the pump head kept getting stuck, but otherwise was very good and the towels were very soft and thick. The room was fairly quiet, but you could hear other people in other rooms so it doesn’t appear to be soundproofed in any way. Noise from outside (trains, buses and incoming aeroplanes) were very minimal though and did not disturb us. We found the room cleaning system a little strange - there are two cards that you can put on the door. One is not to be cleaned at all during the day and the other is not to have the room cleaned at that time and needs to be removed before 2pm. There isn’t anything to put on the door when you want it to be cleaned, you just have to remove both from the door handle. We initially had the card attached to the door not to disturb at that time (overnight) and then removed it in the morning at 11am and the room had not been cleaned. We were able to get clean towels from reception though. It would be better in my opinion to have a card to have the room cleaned rather than two not to have it cleaned as most people would surely want the room cleaned. We went to the bar on the 13th floor during our stay. This can be visited by hotel guests and non hotel guests. This looks very nice and has great views all around, as well as an outdoor area with blankets. The prices of the drinks are reasonable and comparable with elsewhere in the city. We sat outside and then asked at the bar for a couple of drinks. We were told that there wasn’t any bar service for the outside area - only the inside (which is not a problem at all). However, it was a bit awkward when paying, the lady making the drinks asked if I wanted to give a tip. Given that the drinks were just being made and not brought to our table, I did not give a tip. We stayed for one night whilst travelling from Germany to our ski resort in Austria, with 2 children. The hotel was very easy to find, nice and modern and the rooms were very good value (we got 2 connecting rooms ). It is perfect for a quick stop overnight. Breakfast was simple but there was a good choice and it was a nice way to start the day for our onward journey the following morning. There are vending machines but otherwise nowhere for evening food/snacks. We wanted something quick and easy and did not want a full sit down meal in a restaurant in town so it would have been good to have a bit of something on offer, like pizza, in the evening. But it was a quick drive into town and we soon found something. There is a supermarket next door (it was closed when we were there, as we arrived in the evening)) and a nearby petrol station. There was ample parking in the downstairs garage for 8.50 euro a night, and plenty of electric chargers available for electric cars. Would definitely stay there again if needing an overnight stay en route.

Was hoping for so much better. We were on a Trafalgar Tour and stayed at this hotel on December 13, 2023. We were told it would be a 5 star hotel. First thing that happened was they lost our (and many others in our group) luggage. I asked at the front desk and they said ”We have never had problems getting luggage to the proper rooms. It's your tour operator's problem, there's nothing we can do further. After 2 hours our luggage still hadn't shown up. Went to reception, and another Trafalgar guest was there, who's luggage was also lost. Finally they had someone from reception go to the tour's rooms. Our luggage was found, however, the other guest's luggage was still missing. Our tour director went room to room (not just our tour's rooms, but EVERY room starting on the first floor.) and finally found their luggage in the 37th room she checked. It was an empty room with nobody staying there. Then, I found there was no remote for the TV or extra pillows. Requested them at front desk. They were delivered to my room, but the pillows were terribly mismatched. Carpet was stained and somewhat dirty. At our evening meal, they wanted to charge my wife extra for a refill on her soda/pop. Overall, this was the low-lite hotel in our tour. Not worth the money they charged our tour. Their customer/front desk service was bad, at best. Most Reception persons had a bad ”attitude”. Would never stay here again.

Das Hotel liegt gut erreichbar etwas östlich der Innenstadt. In 15 Minuten kommt man zu Fuß vom Hotel in die Innenstadt. Es gibt einen Hotelparkplatz, den man vor der Anreise buchen sollte. Er liegt etwa 50m vom Hotel entfernt. Man kann zunächst zum Anmelden und Ausladen des Gepäcks direkt vor dem Hotel halten. Die Zimmer sind modern platzsparend kreativ eingerichtet. Es gibt alle mögliche Küchenuntensilien in der Küchenzeile, Kostenloses Trinkwasser, Espressomaschine. Das Bett ist gut. Der Service ist ausgezeichnet. Was es alles gibt, kann man auf der Website sehen. Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Einchecken ist auch nach Schließen der Rezeption (19 Uhr) problemlos möglich. Alle Infos dazu bekommt man per Email und wann wird sogar noch vorher angerufen und nochmal informiert, wie das genau geht. Es ist sehr einfach. Wir waren leider nur zwei Nächte auf Hin- und Rückreise nach Italien dort. Wenn wir wieder nach Innsbruck kommen, werden wir wieder hier übernachten. Dann gerne auch länger.

The hotel was lovely. It was cleaned every day . Reception staff were very friendly and so were the cleaners. They even gave us a discounted bus ticket pass. Would definitely recommend this hotel. It was in a great location , a 3 minute walk to the train station and bus stops. It was a 5 minute walk to the town centre with lots of shops and restaurants . It’s about a 10 minute walk to the old town and golden roof. There’s also a cable car about 12 minute walk from the hotel and you can get on there to go to the zoo or to see Hungerburg. Really recommend this hotel.
