We have been coming to the Pimalai for 20 years and it never fails to deliver. We were lucky enough to spend 15 days at the resort this time, and it just seems to get better and better. Its hard to put your finger in what makes The Pimalai so unique. It has a genuine rustic Thai charm, combined with the efficiency of a well run Western hotel. The balance is perfect and never disappoints. It could be the stunning beach, the tranquil setting, the crystal clear waters, the fantastic food or the delicious cocktails at happy hour that make it so amazing, but I think it’s actually the incredible staff that really make you feel like you are one of the family, that really sets this place apart. The staff can not do enough for you. Even the gardeners (who work tirelessly to keep the grounds looking beautiful) stop to say hello when you walk past. There has been a change of guard since last year. The lovely French Manager Franck has handed over to the equally charming new French manager Brice. The transition has been seamless and the hotel is in safe hands. We managed to do a few things this time that we’ve never done before. I did a wonderful Thai cooking class with the head chef. What an experience. One I’d recommend to anyone. We also did a sunset snorkelling trip to Koh Ha. This was spectacular. The fish we saw were incredible, an the guys on the boat were so helpful. Then followed by a sunset cruise back to the hotel. Just WOW!! As always the food in the restaurants was delicious. I get the feeling that it’s only going to get better with the new food and beverage manager putting his mark on the menus. As always, we didn’t want to leave, and we can’t wait to get back.

Alama was such a good surprise! All my top options were fully booked and by taking a look at the photos online, I expected quite an average stay/accommodation. But to my surprise, Alama was better than expected and I might consider coming back. I booked the Suite with Garden View and it looked exactly like on the photos. I personally love the southern part of Koh Lanta so to me the location was perfect. There are so many nice bars and restaurants within walking distance, plus a scooter/car rental, a 7 eleven, ATMs and of course Kantiang Bay. Because Alama is so high up, it can be quite a walk to your room or to the pool/breakfast area but the view from there is just stunning and the perfect way to start your day. So hopefully you won't mind the steps either! Just know that there is no alcohol (but you can bring your own) and the toilet has a curtain and then there is a wooden door to the bedroom, so if you have privacy issues, I would not recommend it.

Brilliant hotel. Lovely rooms, superb staff. Great base for local trips as very near nature reserve. Much cooler than hotels on beach. We had basic room but will have deluxe next time. Loved the daily Yoga. Breakfast excellent. Nice pool and bar.

They say never judge a book by it's cover which has been proven to be true times and times again. With regards to this resort, we where met with all sorts of difficulties, starting from the staff who couldn't speak any English, they were communication with us via google translate, allow me to remind you, this is supposed to be a 4 star resort ! Seriously ?! The WhyNot bar next door didn't help either, playing loud music passed midnight ! The breakfast was average, no much of choice in terms of food and just to mention that they only served Nescafe' as coffee, which is not even coffee. Due to the fact that English was lacking on site the food and beverage orders were often mixed up with something else, it was funny on some occassion but often disappointing to receive the wrong order after having waited at least half an hour to receive our food. The highlight on the resort was Yoga wich was thaught by an Italian gentleman who happened to be the only person who spoke proper English, in fact we've attended several classes of his until we decided to leave the resort. The yoga classes were challenging and rejuvinating at the same time, we even took him out for dinner on few occasions, it was a fluke that we meet such a genuine and passionate Yoga instructor, we wished it all the best in the near future. What an amazing place! Eight villas all positioned to maximise the spectacular views while providing privacy. A credit to the architect! The villas are beautifully appointed- incredibly comfortable and firm beds, breathtaking views from every single window and the indoor/outdoor shower is quite a treat. Huge terrace with full size dining table and plenty of seating options - we spent a lot of time out there. The full size kitchen is well stocked (loved having a blender/smoothie maker). Stainless steel drinking bottles are provided which meant we didn't have to buy single use plastic bottles. The infinity pool with the view over the Andaman Sea is something we won't forget. Loved that we could order food from the local restaurants and have it delivered to our villa. A big thank you to gorgeous Thoy and the staff who made our stay so special - we really had the best time and struggled to leave. Cannot wait to return - which we definitely will.

我很感激建築設計師，你們把這家酒店造得很美，尤其是臨海的一卧泳池別墅美極了！它給我們的第一印象是奢華的、震撼的！這個酒店最貴的房型在同一片海灘上是獨一無二的。此外，就算你定的是普通房型，你也能享受美麗的公共的泳池。 然而，與其昂貴的價格並不相匹配的是它的服務。除了老闆娘，其他的員工包括酒店前台、餐廳服務員都無法用英語正常交流，導致入住過程諸多不便。不論是哪種房型，就連四千一晚的別墅泳池房也是沒有任何歡迎水果，或任何其他增值服務、小物品給您“貴賓”的感受。房間的清潔服務很不及時，總是在客人在的時候做清潔好尷尬！並且清潔做得比較馬虎，桌子都沒擦… 此外，自助早餐主要是針對西方人的麵包和雞蛋，但是沒有奶酪、沒有冷切肉，連果醬、酸奶都衹有一種口味，我是有看到其他老外顧客失望的眼神。當我們問及是否有亞洲早餐，服務員告訴我們：對不起，沒有！好吧…連續四天一成不變的早餐實在有點乏味，最後一天我們還吃到了非常不新鮮的麵包… 喝的方面，沒有鮮榨果汁，不過好在酒店的現磨咖啡是真的好喝。 此外，雖然泳池酒吧衹有一位員工當值，但是他做出來的雞尾酒確實不錯，尤其是老闆推薦的mango daiquira口感讓人驚喜，比我們後來去的島上第一名的某五星酒店更為好喝。大家一定要試一下。 總之，我們在酒店還是度過了美好的假期，畢竟旅遊在外，心態很重要。衹是每當想起我們支付的價格，內心就覺得不值呀……

Arrived with a 3-day booking and within a day had extended to 10-days. I found this resort beautiful with lovely spacious bungalows, and a fabulously designed bathroom/shower. The staff could not have been more friendlier or helpful with everything. The pool was a great size, next to the beach, with stunning views whilst swimming. All the food and shakes were delicious and at great prices. We rented a bike from the resort for our whole trip, and was close to everything. Fresh shower/beach towels everyday. The island itself was beautiful and if I ever return I would stay here again.

We were super impressed with our accommodations here . Huge rooms , cozy linens , partially out door bathrooms were unique and plenty of space for hanging clothes etc There are approximately 13 villas spaced nicely in lush tropical gardens . There’s a good sized pool and restaurant area. At 1200 bht a night we consider this the best value in the area. The two guys on reception were super helpful, organised a snorkelling tour, rented us a scooter and had our laundry back within hours . Guests should welcome a harder mattress , mosque prayers at 5am and you’re not directly on the beach ( but the price tells you that ) Definitely will return here 🙏

酒店服務非常好，都很熱情，看見人就給我們打招呼。我媽媽過敏，幫我媽媽把全套有香味的床品全部都換掉了，房間非常乾淨整潔，所有的房間都可以看見大海，我發現最小麪的別墅房的海景會被遮擋住一部分，但是山上的更好一點。我的房間在最上麪，媽媽是第一排正對沙灘，景色很好。 酒店一個游泳池一個餐廳，環境很安靜漂亮，在一個小海灣裏，浪不大適合下水。餐廳的食物做的很不錯，價格也不貴，和我去鑽石懸崖餐廳去吃差不多的價格，我們在酒店裡吃了三頓。 酒店有送去島內各地的車，每個地方都有價目表，我們包車半天四個小時，2500泰銖。去10公裡外的沙灘，單程400泰銖，我覺得價格也很可以。可以打電話叫酒店到沙拉丹碼頭接，這個是免費的，但是好像是不送的。 馬*雞要預約，非常便宜，泰式按摩手法很好，才600泰銖一個人50分鐘。而且麪對大海感覺非常好，按摩的大姐很仔細，會觀察你的各種表情來注意輕重。我爸爸提早給了100泰銖小費，居然給他多按了20分鐘。

Sorry for writing on the hotel site but even if I tried I couldn’t find any INTANIN TOURS TRAVEL AGENCY (which is placed inside the hotel!!!! )The 2 receptionists of the hotel also work as tours agents and we have to thank them very much!!! We booked a trip to Krabi,a daily tour by speed boat to Ko Rok & Ko Ha and the transfer to Krabi airport. Prices are really really convenient! But I want to talk about the 2 girls employees! They’ve been REALLY professional and helpful by giving us both details and suggestions about our trips. They have been REALLY nice,gentle and well prepared but above all they have been VERY patient!!! Hope they’ll know we’ve appreciated their efforts,job and kindness very much!!! Thanks a million!!!!

This is such a nice place, quiet, close and close to nature. The beach nearby, we take a morning walk there every day. The villa is larger than we expected and the views, both from the balcony and the restaurant are simply amazing. Staff is so friendly and helpful, the ones in the reception speak English very well. They helped us with snorkeling tours and scooter rentals and the prices were good compared to what we saw on offer down the road. There is a good selection of restaurants nearby. Not a party area, so don't expect that. The breakfast has lots of options and is definitely recommended.

I checked into room A-4 but the room had some issues so I was moved to A-5, which is the same room type. ---Pros: *Easy walk to the beach (less than 1 minute). *Full service laundry on-site at good price (THB 50/kg). *Newer, updated room. *Good aircon. *Comfortable mattress. *Helpful staff. *Good room rates. *Can easily walk everywhere in Klong Nin -- restaurants, cafes, bars, tour companies, transport, 7-11, Lotus grocery store. *Spacious outdoor patio. *In-room secured safe deposit box with customizable digital code. *Beautiful property grounds: peaceful, nature feel. *Water spigot to wash beach sand from feet. *On-site pool. ---Cons: *Bathroom light is always on; but unable to turn on shower or toilet light -- wall switches in bathroom all broken/disabled (room A-4). *Entry door didn't lock (room A-4) *Light above bed headboard not working (room A-5). *Curtains don't fully cover window. I had clips with me so I was able to keep the panels together to block out more light. *Wifi can be inconsistent and slow. *Limited privacy since everyone walking up or down the main path can look into all the units if curtains aren't closed.

Perfect view, spectacular food and the staff was absolutely amazing. I rarely write reviews. But this place deserves a good one. Cliff Lanta does thai food in a classy way that fits perfectly with the view. The massaman is especially amazing. Not a bad seat in the restaurant. The staff are all smiles and are so absolutely sweet. Make you feel very welcome and at home in paradise. PLUS, the rooms have a bath on the balcony overlooking the cliff that is arguably the best sunset view on the island. You do have to go down a few steps to get to the beach. But so easy and close. 1 minute walk down. Plus the beach is quite empty compared to other beaches and just as beautiful. The beds are quite soft...which, if you travel in thailand much, you know is sometimes rare. Great stay and/or restaurant.

Spotlessly clean room with good air con. All rooms overlook the sea, where you can watch the sunset. There is a restaurant opposite open from 9-6 that does the most amazing food, especially good is breakfast. There is also a bar/ restaurant next door to the hotel. We didn’t eat here, but the drinks were good. We had the beach opposite the hotel to ourselves everyday, but there isn’t a lot of shade. It was a short walk into the town where there are restaurants, a 7/11 and atm’s and a large sandy bay with a restaurant on the beach. We used taxis to return in the evening as the road was dark. You can hire mopeds at the hotel too.

For the price this was excellent value for money. After reading the reviews and me being quite fussy I almost cancelled this hotel but we gave it a go anyway. Rooms - basic and very typical Thai we had what we needed. There’s a choice of garden bungalow which are located across the quiet road or beach bungalows which is what it says on the beach. Each room has a porch where you can chill and there’s also a tap to hose down your feet. Safe and fridge also. Restaurant - whilst the breakfast included was again basic you could grab some thing to drink with toast and eggs. All other food we paid for was lovely and great value for money. The bar is run separately’Bang Bar’ and is again reasonable with great bar staff. The beach and sea completed the location song with being central to what we wanted with beaches and the old town all within distance. A few comments relating to the hotel staff, yes they could have been friendlier however, we didn’t experience any problems. Would I stay again? Yes although for us we like to try new locations. The hotel is all about what expectations you have compared to how much you pay. I certainly felt we got what we paid for and the accommodation is very affordable ‘cheap and cheerful’

Charming place right on a beautiful clean beach that is not crowded and swimmable. The staff are lovely (thanks, Sue!) food surprisingly good (fish BBQ!) and you can get scooters right at the place. We actually checked in to the more luxury option on this beach and then moved here instead because it felt way more friendly. Don’t come here if you want to party, it’s at the far south of all the beaches and over some huge hills to the next gathering of shops (although there is laundry and a few restaurants and a basic shop nearby). And don’t expect satin sheets or huge rooms, it is what it is and that’s a bit rustic. But for what it is, and the price, you can’t do better.

We have been coming to the Pimalai for 20 years and it never fails to deliver. We were lucky enough to spend 15 days at the resort this time, and it just seems to get better and better. Its hard to put your finger in what makes The Pimalai so unique. It has a genuine rustic Thai charm, combined with the efficiency of a well run Western hotel. The balance is perfect and never disappoints. It could be the stunning beach, the tranquil setting, the crystal clear waters, the fantastic food or the delicious cocktails at happy hour that make it so amazing, but I think it’s actually the incredible staff that really make you feel like you are one of the family, that really sets this place apart. The staff can not do enough for you. Even the gardeners (who work tirelessly to keep the grounds looking beautiful) stop to say hello when you walk past. There has been a change of guard since last year. The lovely French Manager Franck has handed over to the equally charming new French manager Brice. The transition has been seamless and the hotel is in safe hands. We managed to do a few things this time that we’ve never done before. I did a wonderful Thai cooking class with the head chef. What an experience. One I’d recommend to anyone. We also did a sunset snorkelling trip to Koh Ha. This was spectacular. The fish we saw were incredible, an the guys on the boat were so helpful. Then followed by a sunset cruise back to the hotel. Just WOW!! As always the food in the restaurants was delicious. I get the feeling that it’s only going to get better with the new food and beverage manager putting his mark on the menus. As always, we didn’t want to leave, and we can’t wait to get back.

Perfect view, spectacular food and the staff was absolutely amazing. I rarely write reviews. But this place deserves a good one. Cliff Lanta does thai food in a classy way that fits perfectly with the view. The massaman is especially amazing. Not a bad seat in the restaurant. The staff are all smiles and are so absolutely sweet. Make you feel very welcome and at home in paradise. PLUS, the rooms have a bath on the balcony overlooking the cliff that is arguably the best sunset view on the island. You do have to go down a few steps to get to the beach. But so easy and close. 1 minute walk down. Plus the beach is quite empty compared to other beaches and just as beautiful. The beds are quite soft...which, if you travel in thailand much, you know is sometimes rare. Great stay and/or restaurant.

A little bit of a walk up-hill but it’s not a mountain. Easy solution if you rent a scooter. Food was really good. Good balance between Thai and western food. Fruit shakes were on point. Restaurant is on the beach with a great sunset. Ordered room service with a pizza one evening. The manager and staff were beyond amazing. Nice and friendly. When checking-in to the resort, the manager escorted us to the hotel room himself. He was deadly awesome. Providing so much useful information on: what to do, where to go, how to do it etc. Great recommendations during our visit on the island. And extremely helpful. Transport your luggage up and down the hill to & from your hotel room when checking-in & checking-out was a bonus. Also, the staff were exceptional with transportation to and from Ko Lanta (pick up & drop off). Resort is quiet and spacious. A great place to do some relaxing. Chill out on the beach or hang out by the pool; both are nice relaxing options. There are 3 pools on the resort. The hotel is located in the middle of Ko Lanta island. So again, hiring a scooter is recommended. Kept it simple and rented from the hotel itself. Mu Ko Lanta National Park is a 20-minute ride south. Lanta Old Town is a 20-minute ride east. There are a small handful of good restaurants within walking distance too. If you are in the mood for a tasty burger, I highly recommend Hungry Shack just up the road (5 mins walk north). All in all, Sri Lanta is a great resort and highly recommended.

They say never judge a book by it's cover which has been proven to be true times and times again. With regards to this resort, we where met with all sorts of difficulties, starting from the staff who couldn't speak any English, they were communication with us via google translate, allow me to remind you, this is supposed to be a 4 star resort ! Seriously ?! The WhyNot bar next door didn't help either, playing loud music passed midnight ! The breakfast was average, no much of choice in terms of food and just to mention that they only served Nescafe' as coffee, which is not even coffee. Due to the fact that English was lacking on site the food and beverage orders were often mixed up with something else, it was funny on some occassion but often disappointing to receive the wrong order after having waited at least half an hour to receive our food. The highlight on the resort was Yoga wich was thaught by an Italian gentleman who happened to be the only person who spoke proper English, in fact we've attended several classes of his until we decided to leave the resort. The yoga classes were challenging and rejuvinating at the same time, we even took him out for dinner on few occasions, it was a fluke that we meet such a genuine and passionate Yoga instructor, we wished it all the best in the near future. Everything about this place is as it should be - friendly and professional service, decent rooms with comfortable beds and the location is just perfect - a minute walk from beautiful, family friendly beach, numerous restaurants, great coffee shops, bars etc. Very convenient for exploring the island but also quiet and peaceful at the same time. Nam, who owns the hotel, runs it very well and is available at reception most of the time. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she helped us organise local trips, car rental and airport transfer (including a car child seat for our 3yo daughter which we didn’t even have to ask for). Breakfast offering is simple but tasty. All in all, Lanta Ray Bay is great value for money and we will be definitely staying there again when we visit Ko Lanta in the future. We were super impressed with our accommodations here . Huge rooms , cozy linens , partially out door bathrooms were unique and plenty of space for hanging clothes etc There are approximately 13 villas spaced nicely in lush tropical gardens . There’s a good sized pool and restaurant area. At 1200 bht a night we consider this the best value in the area. The two guys on reception were super helpful, organised a snorkelling tour, rented us a scooter and had our laundry back within hours . Guests should welcome a harder mattress , mosque prayers at 5am and you’re not directly on the beach ( but the price tells you that ) Definitely will return here 🙏
