Service: Excellent service from hotel staff, spoke English, accommodating, helpful and cheerful. Location : Quiet area, right next to a train station exit, convenient location. It is close to Kyoto Station by taxi ( approx 5-10 mins), located at an intersection and was easy to grab a taxi. It is not located that close to the main Kyoto shopping street, but it's just a peaceful 5-10 minutes walk away from the main stretch of shopping and food areas. Great to explore the quiet side of Kyoto. Lawson mart just opposite, the quiet lane opposite had lots of quaint cafes and bakeries. What a wonderful find just walking through the little lanes opposite. Away from tourists crowds, immersed in local Kyoto city vibes. Room style and space: Room furnishing decor colours were so soothing, stylish pale sage greens, light cream and oak, modern and pleasant , light cream tones. Fantastic huge single beds and pillows, fluffy and clean pillows, huge sofa, strong showers from rain shower in bathroom. Loved every corner in my corner room. Spacious work desk at the corner, perfect for a working business trip. The balcony flanked the entire room length.. absolutely wonderful.. sat outside on the balcony and people watched. Bathroom amenities and products included face and body moisturizers, combs etc, all wrapped in classic stylish Japanese style. Perks: We received daily vouchers which we could use for lounge cocktail hour (free flow great selections of wines, beers, sake, hot drinks etc drinks and snacks) or for high tea set in the lounge area. The lounge area was so cozy. Wonderful vibes. High tea set was amazing, provided by famous patissierie that's located in the hotel lobby. Wonderful chill experience just before we head out for daily dinners. Facilities: We checked out the mist room and onsen.. so clean and stylish. Felt like we were at a W hotel. Overall super fantastic experience, wonderful ambience, rooms were new, stylish and cleanliness was top notch. Property itself is very new and modern. Perfect for solo or couples. Very quiet (some traffic noise, but not a big deal), peaceful neighborhood, chic furnishings. I loved my stay in Nov so much, I will stay again in future. Downside: The rooms face a few offices opposite, windows are not coated with opaque film.. so just be aware and not walk around underdressed in the room in full view of opposite buildings. Windows are definitely see through! Nothing the day curtains can't fix.

We really enjoyed our family stay (6 nights) at the Hiramatsu Kyoto. The room and food were great but what made it an amazing experience was the staff. Everyone was very kind, attentive, helpful and patient. The food was great and we enjoyed different breakfast menu everyday. Specially, we loved the miso fish and vegetables at the Izumi and the risotto at the Luce. Also, they had a Kids course that considering my son food restrictions, and he really enjoyed. The room was gorgeous, new and spacious. We had more than enough space for a family of three. Finally, as our first trip since the beginning of the pandemic, we were keen to avoid crowded restaurants and ensure social distance. The staff was very understanding and they accommodated such request so we could enjoy the delicious food without concerns. Special thanks for Sophie that started helping us even before our reservation. We really enjoyed our stay, so we highly recommend this hotel.

After staying at minshukus, ryokans and western-style hotels over the last several days, it was a pleasure to end our Japan stay with 2 nights at Kyoto Machiya Fukune. The 2 of us appreciated the extra space of the Sangen machiya compared to our previous lodgings to just chill out, especially when soaking in your personal outdoor hot water (not onsen) bath or the indoor hinoki bath and looking out onto the compact zen garden. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms modern and clean. The included mini-bar (Asahi beer, sake, soft drinks and water) was an unexpected bonus! The welcome tea ceremony with traditional sweets (much better than that offered with the included entry price at the Okochi Sanso Garden in Arashiyama) was a far superior greeting than fronting a hotel reception desk even if one has to wait (about 10 mins) for Miki to arrive (which was forewarned in the pre-stay info); we were informed of our security code when we rang (using the complimentary phone in the separate arrival area) and could access the machiya while waiting. Miki was very helpful with local restaurant and sightseeing tips. Excellent pre-stay information was provided via email from Kyoto Machiya Fukune. While we didn’t use the laundry (complimentary) we did make use of the locker, which we found could store 2 large suitcases and 2 carry-on luggage with room leftover for shopping bags. It cost us ¥1500 for taxi/uber from JR Kyoto stn to the machiya. Once there it is only several minutes’ walk to various train stns or bus stops. Nishiki mkt’s western entrance is about a 10min walk away. This was my 3rd time in Kyoto with the goal to visit sights we hadn’t seen previously like Arashiyama’s bamboo grove and Fushimi Inari shrine. The Randen line’s Shijo-Omiya stn is just over 10mins walk away and the tram takes you into the heart of Arashiyama’s shopping *****, the Kimino forest and near the Tongetsu-kyo bridge. Then take your time to walk to the bamboo grove via Tenryo-ji shrine. They say it best to get to the grove early to beat the tourists, but it rained in the morning, so we took our time and got to the grove about lunch-time. While crowded, it wasn’t as packed as what we thought it would be, given it was a Sunday and also ‘golden week’ (maybe people were eating lunch). We also walked to and visited the Nison-in temple that was recommended by Miki; she highlighted the moss that covered a lot of the grounds; a very worthwhile diversion and IMHO better than the Okochi Sanso Garden we also visited). Had a late lunch in the local area then walked to JR’s Saga-Arashiyama stn; ¥220 to JR’s Inari stn (simple transfer at JR Kyoto stn) with the Fushimi Inari shrine entrance across the road. The place is pricey, but we’re glad we stayed here.

Abbiamo soggiornato per 7 notti in questo hotel a Kyoto vicino alla fermata Karasuma Oike della metropolitana. Estremamente comodo per gli spostamenti. La stanza era abbastanza grande per gli standard giapponesi e il prezzo anche molto onesto considerato che c’era di mezzo la fioritura dei ciliegi. Buona anche la colazione con una marmellata alla fragola magnifica. Ovviamente non aspettatevi una colazione occidentale, molto salato poco dolce ma tutto sommato andava più che bene

Situated around 300m from the metro station, the hotel is a modern, clean and handy base to tour the city. Bear in mind that very few hotels in Japan offer family rooms, you will typically be in adjacent double or twin rooms - so be sure to ask. The hotel reception is to the left of the entrance as you walk in and the whole check in process took less than 5 mins. Be aware that very few allow early check in, but they will safely store your bags whilst you go for a wander around the city. The rooms have all the usual mod cons. TV, direct dial phone, aircon, hairdryer, fridge with freezer, pyjamas and desk. The one thing we really liked was the quality and quantity of toiletries - they were a highlight. The soaps, shampoos etc were a delight. Free razors, tooth and hairbrushes were also available. The beds, pillows and bedding were good quality and we all slept well. The ‘western’ Breakfast on the ground floor was a little limited and ended at an early 10am, even though it was adequate. You can also opt for a Japanese style on the floor above, but this finishes at 0930hrs Overall it was a comfortable and clean hotel which was more than adequate for our needs. Pros Close to public transport Clean and efficient Cons Limited breakfast and early finish Would we stay again? Possibly

There are many things to like about this hotel but let me start with the most important- its people. I must give special thanks to the Front Office Manager- Yuki. On one of the nights, I had unfortunately developed a high fever- coming from abroad, I was in an anxious state about the care I may receive or what my next steps should be. All the hospitals in the surrounding area were full and could not accept walk ins. We rang the front desk and the manager Yuki reassured us that he would assist in ensuring I received proper medical attention asap. He made a few calls to his personal network and sure enough within minutes he had secured us a slot at a local hospital, arranging everything for us to ensure we were attended to immediately by the hospital staff and effectively treated. He went out of his way to help arrange the transport and did it all in the most warm, friendly demeanour. Just interacting with him had put me at ease and the extent he went to help was incredible. I had never experienced such personalised care from one of the hotel staff in my life and have stayed at multiple properties both locally and globally- Thank you Yuki, you were truly amazing and I hope to see you in Singapore! Location wise the hotel is situated pretty centrally - you've got access to multiple convenient stores, train station, bus stops and the area is relatively quiet and peaceful. Rooms were spacious enough and clean too.

烏丸通沿いにあり、京都御苑や二条城もふらっと 行ける、京都観光にはもってこいのエリア。 なにげに近くにはおいしいお店とかも あったりして、食いしん坊のあたしには 嬉しいところにあるんですよね～。 ”デザインコンセプトは90LDK まるで1つの家屋のようなホテル”。 このホテル自体が自分の家のように いろいろ使えるんですよ～。 エントランスはちょっとゆったりできる椅子が 置いてあったり地下には明るくて照明がおしゃれなレストランが あったりします。 国産の食材に拘った朝食ブッフェをされてるそう。 コインランドリーもあったのでここで 長期滞在する方にも便利でいいですね～。 あたしはお一人様で宿泊したので スタンダードツイン。 モダンジャポネ風デザインの客室だそうで オリジナルベッドを導入されてます。 カジュアルな割には広くてゆったり座って 作業するところがあるのも助かるわ～。 お部屋は冷蔵庫・ポット・カップなど スタンダードなのはそろってます。 こちらはバスタブがなくシャワー。 バスタブがある部屋もあります。 アメニティーはポーラのが設置されてます。 トイレと洗面は一体になった感じなので ゆったり使えますね～。 ミニマムながらも広いので窮屈な感じでなく ゆったりできるのが嬉しい。 あたしみたいにちょっと近くの旅行にも ワーケーションに使うにも長期滞在にも 使いやすい便利でお得なホテルでした。

I am absolutely glad we booked this hotel. The main reason we booked this is because there is a washer/dryer in every room. We booked the family room and they are all located at the Anex building. The main building and Anex building are seperated by about 3 blocks. It is just a few seconds walk from the main building to the Anex building. There are no hotel staffs stationed at the Anex building though, so if you need assistance you need to phone them or walk to the main building. There are free coffee machine, tea, ice, hot water and various amenities located at the lobbies of both building. The location of this hotel is a short 5mins walk to the subway station and a 2mins walk to 7-11 convenient storeand 6mins walk to McDonald's and Lawson convenient store. The hotel is beautifully furnished with modern touch to the rustic buidling of Kyoto. The family room that we chose consist of Futons and Modern Beds. There is a humidifier in the room Shower water pressure is very strong Wifi signals are fantastic. TV is at least 46 inch wide Multiple charging ports available even at the headboard section of the beds. Just like other hotels in Japan, you need to stay over a certain number of nights for them to do daily house keeping. However, they do provide changing of towels Daily as long as you stick the magnet label outside your room door before you head off for the day. They just dont make your bed or wash your toilet, etc. The shower, conditioner, etc are of the famous Polar brand. The only thing that i wish to criticise is that the staffs don't speak good English, and i am fully aware that i am in Japan and Japanese don't speak good english, but the hotel staffs being in this industry should at least have a certain degree of basic understanding of English language. I will give an example, I am requesting for new bottle of Shower Soap, they do not understand and had to send a personnel to my room to see what i meant. I am requesting that they change the battery of the safe box in my room due to low battery and they had to transfer the phone call 2 times to finally get what i meant. Just take note that you will need to be patient when speaking to them to get them to understand what your inquiries are. Every staff holds a handheld device for translation purposes though. Besides the slight annoyance due to language barrier, this hotel deserves way more than 3 stars hotel ranking, it felt more like a 4 stars hotel. Absolutely fantastic and deserved praise. I would definitely stay here again in future.

Big lobby but had 2 rooms which were very small comparatively even with the hotels I stayed in Tokyo. Mattress and pillows were hard, money exchange machine in the lobby with bad rate, rooms with keys very old fashioned , beware you'll be charged extra ¥200 per person per night govt tax over the room rate but the only thing I liked was 7 eleven as well as Family mart is 2 min walking distance super convenient that's why rating 3 star

We recently stayed for four nights in the Tomoya Residence Hotel in Kyoto. We found the accommodation and the friendly and attentive staff were fantastic and just what we were hoping for when we booked. The Tomoya Residence is well situated in a nice part of Kyoto, surrounded by countless restaurants and cafes. It is also nearny to public transport and major attractions including the Nijō Castle and the International Manga Museum. After staying in hotels for a couple of weeks beforehand it was very handy to have our own self contained laundry within our two bedroom Executive Apartment. It was great to have a bit of space to relax and get prepared for our next adventure. Thank you to Tomoya Residence Hotel for a wonderful stay and an excellent base to explore Kyoto from.

烏丸御池通から西へ歩いて通りの北側のコーナーにあります。 フロントは2階にあります。最初に宿泊したときはエレベーターがないので階段を歩いて上りました。実は1階の夜間通路を利用するとエレベーターが利用できます。 チェックイン時のスタッフは不愛想な感じでしたが、交替した2人のスタッフはとても親切丁寧な対応でした。 部屋には電気ポットがありませんが、フロントで貸出しできます。 部屋に飲み物のサービスはありません。部屋自体特に問題ありませんが、照明が暗いです。 1階の大浴場は空いていて快適でした。夜と朝に都合2回利用しました。 体重計な整髪料などはありません。 全体的に必要最低限のサービスと言った印象をもちました。 しかし、宿泊料・ロケーションから考えて決して悪くはありません。

Booked this hotel after researching on Tripadvisor. I was very happy with my stay. The hotel was in a great location, close to the subway station, plenty of shops, restaurants and convenience stores all within walking distance. It was easy to get to all of the sites we wanted to see. Staff were very polite, friendly and incredibly nice. The rooms are absolutely huge and especially when compared to Japanese rooms in general and are well equiped, the bed was maybe the biggest I have ever slept on. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and they left chocolates, rose petals and a swan towel which was very appreciated. If I had one negative it was that the room keys are physical keys and if the hotel is reading this I recommend changing to electronic cards. It didn't dampen our stay at all but just thought I would mention it. Overall I definitely recommend the hotel and would stay again if I was visiting Kyoto.

El hotel tiene una locación céntrica, con buena oferta de locales de comida y de diferentes rubros en los alrededores. El lobby es amplio y tiene vistas a un antiguo jardín japonés, sobre el que también da el restaurante. La habitación era de dimensiones estrechas, ocupada principalmente por la cama doble, con una mini mesa de luz y un mini escritorio. Había un espacio muy angosto con perchas pero no tenía cajones ni estantes para guardar la ropa. El silloncito tenía el tapizado manchado, una nota desagradable que desmerece el lugar. Había cafetera y agua mineral de cortesía. El baño era también mínimo, una cabina de plástico similar a la de los aviones, pero con una bañera muy pequeña. Los artículos de tocador estaban disponibles en el lobby, supuestamente por razones ecológicas pero probablemente por falta de espacio. El desayuno era básicamente de estilo oriental, aunque, a diferencia de otros hoteles, también ofrecía una opción buffet, con algunos fiambres, croissants, pan au chocolat y dips para untar. No había tostadora ni mermelada. Las infusiones eran té o latte. El personal era correcto en su trato. Destaco la cordialidad y eficiencia de la empleada de recepción del comedor. En ese mismo espacio, funciona el restaurante, que cierra a las 20.30. No hay room service.

We had mixed reviews of this accomodation Pros - was a very large room two small doubles and a bunk perfect for families. Amenities are great with wifi, lots of kitchen utensils, stove, tea and coffee supplied, toothbrushes available, washing machine and tablets are provided with an inbuilt dryer system in the bathroom. Bathroom and shower area was also spacious. Beds are on the okay side but could be softer. The area itself is nice and quiet with a bus stop right out from we utilised every day, supermarket and Lawsons are across the road and you feel very safe. Would recommend for families. Cons - check in is in a different location 20minute taxi away so we had to catch a train to the check in office when arriving in Kyoto from Osaka, then a taxi to the accomodation after this which chewed up a few hours as we had to wait 45min in addition to check in due to busyness of the office. The area is a bit out of the way of everything next time I might consider staying at a different resi stay location closer to sights and facilities like shops etc. All the restaurants in the area seem to not open for breakfast until 11am so we had to have McDonald’s if we didn’t want to cook or travel too far for breakfast as we have a toddler (early riser). Same occurred at dinner time a lot of restaurants didn’t seem to be open the Monday or Tuesday we were there or opened too late for us (we travelled with a four year old). Our last disappointment was resi stay apparently have a strict not noise at night policy however another room partied until about 3am but there is no front desk or after hours phone number to call to complain / get the noise to stop. Was very frustrating as walls were very thin so we didn’t sleep very well. Overall we would stay with Resi Stay again but at another location due to Nishijin being a bit too out of the way for us.

Cet hôtel tout neuf qui a ouvert le 29 septembre 2023 est bien localisé à un coin de rue du croisement des deux lignes de métro de Kyoto. Son nom étonnant réfère sans doute au « lounge » du rez-de-chaussée ouvert 24 heures par jour où on offre du café et des jus de fruit à volonté en plus d’une dizaine de types de pain différents (variant selon l’heure, des croissants étant par exemple offerts le matin et des feuilletés au fromage en fin de journée). Une agréable musique d’ambiance y est diffusée et les fauteuils et sofas y sont très confortables. Soulignons de plus les éléments suivants : • les chambres sont de taille très moyenne mais bien aménagées et lumineuses; • une bouteille de plastique réutilisable est offerte à l’arrivée pour qu’on puisse garder de l’eau au frais dans le petit frigo de la chambre; • le personnel est avenant, parlant toutefois peu l’anglais ou d’autres langues que le japonais; • l’hôtel est encore en rodage et il est arrivé un matin (sur 11) que le lounge était à l’abandon, dépourvu de pains et de jus, les glaçons ayant fondu dans le bac; il n’y avait personne au comptoir de réception; • le ménage des chambres est fait à fond quotidiennement avec changement des draps à la demande; • la buanderie (payante) offre une seule lessiveuse et une seule sécheuse.

Situated around 300m from the metro station, the hotel is a modern, clean and handy base to tour the city. Bear in mind that very few hotels in Japan offer family rooms, you will typically be in adjacent double or twin rooms - so be sure to ask. The hotel reception is to the left of the entrance as you walk in and the whole check in process took less than 5 mins. Be aware that very few allow early check in, but they will safely store your bags whilst you go for a wander around the city. The rooms have all the usual mod cons. TV, direct dial phone, aircon, hairdryer, fridge with freezer, pyjamas and desk. The one thing we really liked was the quality and quantity of toiletries - they were a highlight. The soaps, shampoos etc were a delight. Free razors, tooth and hairbrushes were also available. The beds, pillows and bedding were good quality and we all slept well. The ‘western’ Breakfast on the ground floor was a little limited and ended at an early 10am, even though it was adequate. You can also opt for a Japanese style on the floor above, but this finishes at 0930hrs Overall it was a comfortable and clean hotel which was more than adequate for our needs. Service: Excellent service from hotel staff, spoke English, accommodating, helpful and cheerful. Location : Quiet area, right next to a train station exit, convenient location. It is close to Kyoto Station by taxi ( approx 5-10 mins), located at an intersection and was easy to grab a taxi. It is not located that close to the main Kyoto shopping street, but it's just a peaceful 5-10 minutes walk away from the main stretch of shopping and food areas. Great to explore the quiet side of Kyoto. Lawson mart just opposite, the quiet lane opposite had lots of quaint cafes and bakeries. What a wonderful find just walking through the little lanes opposite. Away from tourists crowds, immersed in local Kyoto city vibes. Room style and space: Room furnishing decor colours were so soothing, stylish pale sage greens, light cream and oak, modern and pleasant , light cream tones. Fantastic huge single beds and pillows, fluffy and clean pillows, huge sofa, strong showers from rain shower in bathroom. Loved every corner in my corner room. Spacious work desk at the corner, perfect for a working business trip. The balcony flanked the entire room length.. absolutely wonderful.. sat outside on the balcony and people watched. Bathroom amenities and products included face and body moisturizers, combs etc, all wrapped in classic stylish Japanese style. Perks: We received daily vouchers which we could use for lounge cocktail hour (free flow great selections of wines, beers, sake, hot drinks etc drinks and snacks) or for high tea set in the lounge area. The lounge area was so cozy. Wonderful vibes. High tea set was amazing, provided by famous patissierie that's located in the hotel lobby. Wonderful chill experience just before we head out for daily dinners. Facilities: We checked out the mist room and onsen.. so clean and stylish. Felt like we were at a W hotel. Overall super fantastic experience, wonderful ambience, rooms were new, stylish and cleanliness was top notch. Property itself is very new and modern. Perfect for solo or couples. Very quiet (some traffic noise, but not a big deal), peaceful neighborhood, chic furnishings. I loved my stay in Nov so much, I will stay again in future. Downside: The rooms face a few offices opposite, windows are not coated with opaque film.. so just be aware and not walk around underdressed in the room in full view of opposite buildings. Windows are definitely see through! Nothing the day curtains can't fix.

There are many things to like about this hotel but let me start with the most important- its people. I must give special thanks to the Front Office Manager- Yuki. On one of the nights, I had unfortunately developed a high fever- coming from abroad, I was in an anxious state about the care I may receive or what my next steps should be. All the hospitals in the surrounding area were full and could not accept walk ins. We rang the front desk and the manager Yuki reassured us that he would assist in ensuring I received proper medical attention asap. He made a few calls to his personal network and sure enough within minutes he had secured us a slot at a local hospital, arranging everything for us to ensure we were attended to immediately by the hospital staff and effectively treated. He went out of his way to help arrange the transport and did it all in the most warm, friendly demeanour. Just interacting with him had put me at ease and the extent he went to help was incredible. I had never experienced such personalised care from one of the hotel staff in my life and have stayed at multiple properties both locally and globally- Thank you Yuki, you were truly amazing and I hope to see you in Singapore! Location wise the hotel is situated pretty centrally - you've got access to multiple convenient stores, train station, bus stops and the area is relatively quiet and peaceful. Rooms were spacious enough and clean too.

I really recommend Ace Kyoto, it doesn’t have the traditional services like other Kyoto old hotels, but Ace is funky, vibrant and restaurants/shops around just added cherry on top
