I came into the bar, circa 17.30 ish. This time, thankfully the heating was on. But there was no music being played. I ordered some food: Sweet potato fries and buttered corn, plus a pint of Guinness. And further asked; Is it possible to get a couple of poached eggs? I was informed: We are out of eggs. I stay overnight at least once every four to five weeks at this Establishment, and have their 7.30 am breakfast. I also work locally within a similar Establishment and know that the Food supplier’s don’t deliver until circa 8am each morning. Which begs the question: If there’s no eggs at say 17.40 pm, as was confirmed. How are the multitude of breakfast’s which commence at 7.30 am going to be served? Moreover considering that the staff are the same Folk who were employed last year. One would be correct in the presumption that by now there Customer focused skills would be up to industry (Hospitality) norms. But there’s no sense of ‘creating a welcoming experience’. One that is sure to win-over the patrons and procure a good tip. Trust me, I have left tips frequently at the bar to encourage staff who do try. But holistically it’s this old-fashioned unwelcoming English speaking attitude of being in hospitable. I mention ‘English speaking’ because one the acting Cooks today was is an Australian , ie/ Not English as such. I first came across this worker a few months ago. When I again visited the bar and ordered food. As I tucked into my dish, the Skippy approached me and advised: Your eating the wrong dish! I responded, really! Well it was delivered to my table? Rudely Skippy exclaimed into my face: Yes, but now the other person has got to wait for their food! I offered to pay for food, and was advised: That’s not the point! Then Skippy walked away I laughed, thinking to myself: I did try to resolve the mistake. Such is Life 🤪✌️☮️

I booked this stay for my husbands birthday. I have stayed at a few spa resorts and to be honest I was left underwhelmed by the experience. We had a 'dirty towel ' in the room which smelt dirty and had stains on it. I did get it changed and the lady was very apologetic. If tgat was it then it would have been fine however the service in the bar was atrocious. We went to the bar on Saturday evening. We had to wait 10 minutes to get served which was fine but then from asking for our cocktail order we had to wait a further 25 minutes. The poor young boy on the bar was new and didn't know how to make cocktails so he had to wait for Leah, to take over. That would have been fine except Leah was flirting with 2 men at the bar from a wedfing party and kept us waiting 25 minutes from placing our order to actually receiving it. Then I know it is petty but when you are buying a passion fruit martini you sort of expect the half passion fruit. But no. Not here. There wasn't any. Neither were there any cocktail straws to drink it - only full sized strangers?? Apart from the dirty towel the room was mediocre. Please can someone from management lie on the sofa bed in room 275? The springs in the mattress have gone and my poor daughter had to endure a night on what was excruciating. I think a bag of spanners would have been more comfortable. Please can the manager just check thus out? Finally as I said I have stayed in a lot of spa resorts and though this is a beautiful location the attention to detail let's it down. No tissues or slippers in the room and we booked for 3 but only had towels and gowns for 2. For the price I expected more sorry.

Just spent a couple of nights at this lovely hotel which has stunning views over Lake Windermere - take a walk through the grounds to the shore of the Lake. Food was delicious & very well presented but be aware that the menu is seasonal & remains the same for each evening & isn’t very extensive. Two evening dining rooms in different parts of the house - one with lovely views over the Lake and the other overspills into a function room with no views & no ambience. However all the staff are, helpful, courteous and willing to do all they can to make your stay a memorable one; would give a special mention to Helen the lovely receptionist there. An ideal place to stay with clean & comfortable bedrooms & bathrooms and right next door to Brockhole visitor centre where you can get on a boat to do a tour of the lake. Would highly recommend staying here.

We've just enjoyed a lovely stay in a bell tent for 3 nights. Check in is a bit later than ideal (5pm) but we arrived early and had a wonder around the site. Our tent was spotless and the wood burner all set up for our arrival. Inside the tent was cosy yet spacious and the bed were super comfortable. The camping field is a bit slopy but the view is really amazing. We used the camp kitchen which was pretty well equipped and clean (although many of the pans didn't work on the induction hobs). Showers were warm and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay here (it's my second time!) - the owner has a brilliant manner for hosting and makes excellent breakfast. Rooms are clean and comfortable and I was very happy to get into bed after a day out walking or swimming. The location is amazing, especially if you are using buses to get around as it is less than a minute's walk. All the shops, restaurants and cinema are also within a few minutes walk and the owner Andy gave me lots of tips and recommendations.
