I just checked out this morning and I must say this is one of the best hotel that I've ever stayed. The location is very close to the station and it makes everything easier to commute-especially Tabata Station is one of the station in Yamanote Line. You can basically go to anywhere in Tokyo using this line.
The hotel is a self-service hotel but I saw the staff coming out from a room to help someone who having problem for check-in. But I don't think they will standby 24-hours there. Anyways, the self check-in was very easy to navigate by yourself so you should be okay-unless the booking code isn't working.
I don't have any bad experience while staying here. However there was a mild inconvenience where the room had some sounds (like vibration or something, not so sure) all night long. Maybe it was coming from the train passing by (?) But I am not sure about it but it was just an mild issue for me. You will fall asleep if you are tired and the sounds should not be bothered you that much.
I couldn't think what happened if I didn't book this hotel for my trip. I will definitely come back to stay again in this hotel.

The apartment hotel is located in residential area, very secluded and quiet. The access is very convenient, near to Komagome Station, connected by Yamanote Line and Tokyo Metro Namboku Line. Convenient stores, supermarket, drugstore, restaurant are also nearby.
Our unit is located at 4th floor. There is no lift, and the stairs is quite narrow. There is no front desk, only self check-in machine.
There are 1 double bed and 2 single beds in one bedroom. Beds are nice and comfy. There are living room with Smart TV and pantry with medium fridge, stove, microwave, rice cooker, and utensils. Bathroom and toilet are separated by a corridors with wash basin and washing machine. The unit is big enough for us with 4 big luggage.
Overall, we are a family with 2 kids, and are very satisfied with the unit. We will certainly come back again, if we visit Tokyo again.

The location is great, the metro is maybe 1 min walk. By metro your only a few stops away from any big attractions. And after a long day in the city you can come back to enjoy the onsen. The only bad thing I can say about my stay was the someone in the capsule across from mine snored so loud it was nearly impossible to sleep.

Absolutely love this hotel!!! Highly recommend if you are a solo traveller. The location is not too bad as I bought the Tokyo subway pass so I don’t mind it being slightly farther away from the main area. The staffs were great, common shared facilities were so clean I am very impressed.
One downside would be they do not provide water so you have to purchase it from the convenience stores nearby. Honestly not a big deal but would be great if it was provided!!!

My wife and I stayed here for the first few days of our Japan trip to explore Tokyo. This hotel is amazing! The rooms are small, but provide everything you need. And the bed is really comfortable. Also, the main shared area is nice. We also really loved the quiet neighborhood. It didn't feel like Tokyo at all, and still all the popular areas are only +/- 30 minutes away by train. The staff is really sweet and helped out whenever we needed it. One of our favorite stays in Japan

The hotel is 5 mins walk from Sugamo Station that has both subway and JR trains, which makes it a good area to live in. There are shops and restaurants all around. The hotel is clean and provides free bottles of water, though the water from the tap is suitable for drinking. The staff is friendly and helpful, both English speaking and non-English speaking.

Jaz hostel is very clean and th bed.sheets were already on my bed when I revived so I could just go to bed and the location is perfect if you want to go to Ueno park.
Check-in is all through tablet which was good for me since I arrived past the reception opening hours.
I was able to deposit my luggage before though which was ideal because I went to a church nearby.
Around th corner I found a nice coffeeshop with really yummy coffee.
There is the possibility to shower on the fist floor to not wake up the people in the dorm.
The only bitter taste to it is that they charge you for depositing the luggage on your day of departure; then you can also leave the luggage at one of the coin lockers at the metro stations and you don’t have to go all the way back to the hostel

KkhosodaI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by every aspect of the experience. The cleanliness was exceptional—everything from the room to the common areas was spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing more than enough space to relax after a long day.
The location is another major highlight. It is very convenient and well-situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, transportation, and restaurants. This made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free.
The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm and professional attitude. Their hospitality truly made a difference.
The food was also delicious, with a great variety of options and excellent quality. Every meal I had was satisfying and enjoyable.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel stay is wonderful. The hotel is huge with an enormous lobby, looks sleek, and is classy with the dim light. The lobby is located at 20th floor, no comments on the bf as I only booked the room without bf. Check in and out are effortless. Staff is friendly and approachable. Amenities in room are plentiful and abundant. All shampoo, conditioner and bath lotion come in big bottles so it is more than sufficient for use. Inside bathroom, you can control the volume and listen to the TV you on outside so it is very useful. In room has the Alexa which you can easily communicate with it for anything of interest to you. Besides, the hotel is very conveniently located, near to Shinjuku station and the nearby shopping malls. The room is huge and comes with bathtub and it has a balcony area too. Highly recommended for staying here in Tokyo. You will not regret definitely!

The location is excellent which the metro exit is next to the hotel but the exit is only stairs. Those travelers who have big luggage might be very concerned. There are many restaurants nearby also convenience store.
The room is very neat very tidy but a bit crowded if 2ppl. Not much space for your luggage. The amenities are great!
I loved the onsen so much!! Because i came for Garmin Run Aisa and it helped me recover alot!
I probably recommend my fds to come and I will come next time for my trip to Tokyo.

The location is really convenience. Just 10 minutes pf less walking from useno and okachimachi stagion, surrounded by all the foods, shoppings, and night life. (And it was very quiet and serene in the morning. )
The onsen/public bath is good. If you are early or time it a bit, it would be almost no one there. A plus for those who might be intimidated by the culture. Also, maybe most of the customers are foreigner, the percentage of public bath enjoyer looks pretty small.

The hotel offers a welcome drink available anytime, and there is a separate onsen for men and women. In the evening at 6:00 PM, there is a free happy hour with drinks—perfect for alcohol lovers. My husband really loved it.
The amenities are also of good quality. If I visit Japan again, I would definitely choose to stay here—the price is very reasonable too.

Part of the design-oriented Granbell chain, the hotel opened in 2013 and expanded with additional rooms in 2016. It has a modern and stylish vibe overall, making it a good fit for travelers who enjoy a bit of personality and contemporary feel.
The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking.
Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. Also, the bedsheets are changed everyday, you get clean pyjama and towels everyday.
One thing that was annoying is the size of the lockes, it is very small and little bit inconvenient with the card sistem.
Also keep in mind that you have to be out of the hotel during the certain hours due to cleaning.

The only downside was limited space if you’re traveling with large luggage. The hotel’s location is very convenient it’s close to the train station and surrounded by plenty of restaurants. There’s also a grocery store and a FamilyMart right outside the hotel, which was very helpful. The laundry area was another nice bonus for families traveling longer. Overall, a great and convenient stay in Ueno.
