Hotel berhampiran Larundel Memorial Reserve, Melbourne

My wife and I operate a small coach tour company, and have done so for the last 28 years. We offer residents of Sydney, the Central Coast, the Southern Highlands, Canberra and Queanbeyan, the opportunity to travel on a variety of tours, ranging from four days to ten days in length, to different areas in Eastern Australia. Last week, a group of our passengers from these areas travelled on a seven-day tour to Victoria. During the tour, our passengers stayed for four nights at the Novotel Melbourne Preston. We certainly have no complaints or regrets about using this Hotel for our group’s stay! When I first contacted the Hotel in September 2023, about the possibility of using it for my tour group’s accommodation for this tour, my enquiry was treated with genuine enthusiasm. I was put through to the Sales Manager, Ms Michele Kerrigan. Michele was amazing to deal with. After a steady stream of telephone conversations and emails during the next few days, the accommodation was booked, and the menus for all the dinners during this stay were locked in. At some hotels we’ve used over the years, this process can take weeks, and it can be quite a frustrating experience. At this Hotel, it was the exact opposite. So, a huge ‘thank you’ to Michele, for making this all so easy for us as tour organisers! After all the arrangements we finalised, and the booking was locked in, Michele passed on our booking to the Sales Coordinator, Annalise Dimase. Once again, Annalise was an absolute delight to work with! Between the finalisation of the booking, and the date of the group’s arrival, we spoke many, many times on the phone, and exchanged many, many emails. In all my dealings with Annalise, she was professional, personable, helpful, patient, and attentive. On a few occasions, when Annalise was unavailable, I was transferred to Nada, another member of the Sales Team. Again, Nada was wonderful to work with. When our tour group arrived at the hotel, Michele, Nada, and Annalise were all there to greet the passengers. They were very impressed by the warm and friendly welcome offered to them by this team! Once inside the Hotel, this level of service was experienced in all sections. The reception staff, the housekeeping staff, the restaurant staff, the chef and kitchen staff were all friendly, welcoming, obliging, and helpful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to any tour groups requiring accommodation in Melbourne. Judging by our experience, it would be difficult to surpass the level of attentiveness and friendliness offered by the management team and staff, the quality of service, the degree of comfort, and the attention to detail our group received during their stay. Our stay here was amazing, the apartment was big and spacious even equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Overall the hotel is very new and clean, and right next to a small shopping mall with a grocery store, eateries and a cinema. It is rather far from melbourne city area but easy to get to with a cab.

The Royal Hotel provides convenient access to Tullamarine Airport and Melbourne CBD. The accommodation varies in price according to demand, as is usual these days, but it is normally around $100 per night. The Nightcap Social club is exclusively for hotel guests. The Royal has been rejuvenated recently, it's a pleasant place to stay. By the way, the popular dining room serves good, no-nonsense food that is reasonably priced.

Stayed here on the 3 & 4th June..New hotel,so was as expected,clean fresh and well maintained..Room was quite small,but bed was very comfortable ( 2 king singles pushed together),bathroom was a good size with big shower,that had a hand held head,as well as rain head.No wardtobe,but had a rail which had around 6 clothes hangers.. Connie who was at the front desk was amazimg,very helpful and nothing was to much trouble.Very easy.and seamless check-in.. Location of the hotel was great,a stones throw to the Vic Market ,and restaurants. We will be back in the future,and do recommend this hotel... 2 thumbs up...👍👍

Before I went to Melbourne, I had had the negative experience of Mercure in Thailand and I didn't want to choose it, to be honest, but I didn't have any choice because the price and location were better than other places. Wow. I was surprise because everything was unexpected I can say thanks to the hotel 1.The location is good and it is located in the CBD. Convenient transportation, lots of Asian restaurants, supermarkets and convenient stores. It is not far from the place I had to work. 2.The staff are great and helpful with service mind. Yes, I found a Thai girl staff who is really nice. We received the good service. Even though, the policy is they clean the room 1 in 3 days, but I was ok because we had to save the world. 3.The size of the room is small and the size of the beds were small too but enough for sleeping well and everything in the room was clean and function well. 4.No water bottles. I understood that we had to drink water from the tab. I was used to it because I knew it well, but my boss was not used to it and couldn't accept this. Please make the remark in the booking or put a paper in the room so that some people can prepare themselves for this culture. However, thanks for the milk in the fridge. Just positive experiences with this hotel this time. Thanks to you all

Clean rooms, friendly staff and perfect location. Easily accessible to the public transport and eating points. Great value for the money. Good budget option for a short visit. I would love to come again.

Great hotel close to city center near Coles and Southern Cross station, very convenient. There is a swimming pool, sauna room, steam room, arcade, and gym for all guests to use for free. Rooms are clean and spacious, but the heating can be improved. Amenities are provided in the bathroom.

Good service, great location within CBD, close to Southern Cross and Flinders stations, within free tram zone too. The bed was comfie enough, room small, dated and needed a lick of paint and fridge really noisy. Even at 5 storeys up you can hear traffic, especially sirens. BUT, I wouldn't let that put you off, IF you simply need an affordable base to go explore etc.

Near southern cross station where the Skybus terminal is, especially convenient as we had a really early flight to catch. The room is homey. Bathroom a bit dim though. There’s a bit of noise cause it was also close to the train and tram rails. Maybe not for light sleeper. But we don’t have much issue with that. The tram station is right at the door, can just hop on and off within the free tram zone to get to the really busy eating and shopping area along Swanston Street
