Arrived on cold, rainy day and upon entering room, we turned on the heater to warm up. It didn't work, nothing. House cleaner tried to get it to work. Nothing. She called maintenance and within 30 minutes we had a brand new heater the quickly warmed up the room.. Although next to a freeway, by turning the fan mode to ”constant”, it acted as white noise and we hardly heard to freeway noise which allowed us to sleep very soundly, especially during the night since my wife was having surgery the next morning. Room was VERY clean, bed (for us) VERY comfortable (firm but yet not hard). Bathroom and shower were clean, even had a rubber bath mat. One of the best BW's we have stayed in. Although different people will have different expectations, we don't understand why some reviews are negative since we could not find anything to complain about (as we usually do.....!). Highly recommended as a basic, clean and well run hotel. .

Worst stay ever. This was a reminder that I should ALWAYS check TripAdvisor reviews. We cut our stay short because we just could not stomach staying for our entire reservation--and only stayed as long as we did because we had medicine being shipped to our destination. When that package arrived, we left. On our arrival, we had a heck of a time getting the door open. Each entry required a swipe, pull & rattle the door handle, swipe again, pull handle toward you, push back will pushing handle down. Yes, every. Single. Time. we had to do those steps. When we first entered the room, there was an empty vodka bottle in the cupboard, the kitchen trash was full of empty beer bottles & garbage, and the dishwasher had undissolved soap and the most DISGUSTING funk and gunk inside. The surfaces did not appear wiped down in living room or kitchen. {We used Clorox wipes to clean surfaces and every wipe came away with something on it.} Thank goodness the sheets & towels smelled fresh. The hallway smelled musty -- and, each night, we could always smell another resident cooking their fish dinner. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and worn out to the point of any movement by other person in the bed resulted in the other person also moving around. On day three (remember, we were waiting for medicine delivery. Never would have stayed this long otherwise), I went to exchange the towels. Desk staff was on phone but tried to help me while staying on the phone. I was told to put the dirty towels in the wash bin and then I was told that there were not any clean towels to give me. I should have been told this BEFORE returning old towels. I had not showered yet and I was glad I brought a towel to use by the pool so I could at least shower before going out for lunch meeting. I was told new towels would be brought to our room. When I returned three hours later, the replacement towels were not there . I went back to the desk and was told ”They took all the clean towels” then the desk clerk vanished for a few minutes and did return with the towels. On day four, the fan & light in the shower/toilet room went out. When we went to the lobby to report this to the front desk: (a) Staff was so congested & ill that he should not have been working; (b) Staff said he'd tell maintenance but offered nothing in the way of a solution (change rooms, flashlight, credit). On day five, after five of our planned nine-night stay, our package arrived and we checked out early. That day's desk staff was the first staff person who made us feel HEARD and tended to; she was WONDERFUL. She apologized profusely for the problems, adjusted our stay-rate so we were not punished for checking out early, and said she'd look at getting us an additional credit for the poor condition of the room. Shame on me for not checking TripAdvisor and for assuming this Extended Stay America was at a level of quality as others we'd seen.

Clean and well located. Breakfast was good with omelette and pancakes and hard boiled eggs (although everything is wrapped in plastic). Staff was nice. However, the bathroom sink was clogged and the mattress felt old and not very comfortable. Overall a bit dated.

There were 2 things I loved about this hotel - the lightbulbs were actually nice and bright - you did not feel like you were trying to find your way around a sleezy bar or a cave; and the temperature of the room was perfect. What I didnt like was the dirty cigarettes butts all around the doors - on this non smoking property - near but not in the ashtrays. Paying for parking - outside your room just like in a typical motel - no parking pass or identification - no special accomodations for the parking which might have justified a parking charge No amenities open at all. Check in was quick and painless - but not even a map to find your room (once you found it, it was self explanatory, but a little confusing in the beginning) or any type of information about places in the area to eat or visit - and no food on premises

After a long day flying into Oakland from the east coast in December with bad weather, we arrived frazzled & tired but ok. Since we were on east coast time, we just wanted to eat & go to bed. Michael, a front desk attendant, gave us outstanding customer service - the best we have ever seen from a front desk staff. He went out of his way for us as they tried to help us figure out a way to get to Lake Tahoe in between blizzards. There was also a female front desk clerk who was helping also but I forgot her name. He went above and beyond to make our stay. Thank you, Michael. Room was your typical Courtyard. It is an older hotel & definitely needs an upgrade. Good local owned restaurant next door. Right off the interstate 580 & about 20-25 minutes’ drive to Oakland airport without traffic. Cons: Hotel charges for parking. Not sure if they have problems in the area, but it seemed to be safe. It seemed strange to pay for parking for a hotel in the suburbs.
