Cari Hotel 3-Star di Xining

I booked a room with a window. I spent more than friends to have a better room. However their cheap room had a window but mine did not. Instead it had a glass wall that looked into the hallway. When I first arrived the room door was open. They solved that problem and my friends and I went out to eat. When we returned (3 hours after checking in) none of our room keys worked. I had to go downstairs to reception twice to get it working. Then at breakfast a man started smoking in the breakfast area and no one stopped him. I would pass on this hotel the next time I’m in Xining.

We had an upgrade when we arrived, a beautiful suite with a great view . Breakfast was great, mostly chinese but with lots of options. English is not spoken by the staff but it is not a problem. The location is perfect, just next to wanda shopping mall with lots of options to eat and buy. This hotel is a gem for the price.

Good hotel, very modern and clean. The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful. For the price it's great. However, we couldn't enjoy the breakfast much as it starts at 7:30, which is already fairly late for a hotel, and by 7:40 not even half of the breakfast was prepared and we had to leave, would have liked to try it especially considering it was included in the room and what we ate of it was fairly tasty. The curtain behind the bathtub doesnt sit in line with the wall so there is a bright light throughout the night from outside. The hotel was a bit difficult to find especially finding the Correct parking area for the building. The elevators are shared elevators and took over 10 minutes to go up to the 25th floor . And took 5 minutes of waiting to go down one floor to the reception, before we decided to take the stairs(which are very dirty) Apart from the above the hotel was very good and comfortable, clothes washing facilities were clean, coffee in the reception, and a cool fish tank along with very friendly helpful staff.

Staff are very nice and professional but foreigners should have their translation app ready as most do not speak English. The room was very comfortable and clean. Location is walking distance to the street market as well as the City Plaza. I would stay here again.

The room has a very strong odour the very first day. It gets better the 2nd day. It is near the train and bus station which is a positive thing. Not much eateries nearby. There is no aircon in the room, however, the room is still quite cooling. Bed is comfortable.

Overall the hotel room itself is in an excellent condition and has free communal washing machine. However it is not suitable if you need assistance to book tours even though the hotel advertised tour/ticket booking service. There is no tour desk. The hotel is located in a no through road where taxis do not come in so the hotel asked us to pull our luggage to the main road to hail a taxi or sort out our own transportation. I would not book this hotel again as a foreign tourist who has no access to local apps.

Great location and very good service from front door and the cleaner Warmly asked us for anything we need and try to fulfill our requirement at their best We requested water for drinking and hanger to hang our clothes after washing and dry with dryer and the hotel management helped us with it. The room is big enough for 5 pax and clean Breakfast provided for every day too.

The location was quiet enough so there's no traffic noise. It's close to shops and restaurants. But to find the entrance to the hotel was confusing because it's at the back of the building. The room is very old and they tried to decorate it with an American theme with old furniture. But the walls seem to have recently been re-painted. The jacuzzi might suit some people but we find it a waste of space. One of the staff speaks English so it's a bonus. Breakfast was good with a variety of selections.

The location is wonderful if you need the train, as it is literally just outside the train station, less than 10 minutes' walking from your train. We needed the day room to rest between the morning and evening trains, and it works well for us. However, there are some issues we did not like. 1. We booked and paid through Trip, but at the receipton (we checked in early, which was great!) the receiptionst requested 100 rmb, which he said was a deposit that must be paid on the spot, and will be refunded in the morning. This was suspicious to us because nothing of this sort was stated on Trip, and no other bookings in China we made through Trip ever required any deposits, even less so in cash. When I showed him the original booking and payment, and insisted that we are only taking the room for the day, he stopped insisting on the ”deposit.” 2. The room used to be very nice, indeed, and preserves some of that niceness still: the bed is wonderful, with crispy linen, multiple different pillows, and very clean. the bathroom is nicely decorated and contained basic amenities, and the storage space is wonderful and spacious. However, like in some other Chinese hotels we stayed, the indicators of maintenance are the shower and the carpeting. In this room, the bed is super clean, but the bathroom and carpeting are either poorly cleaned, or not at all. We found hair and even a wrapping in the shower, while the carpeting in the room, elevator, and corridors was not cleaned in a long time. And yet, there are some such nice touches in this room, like the living creeper placed in a small vase in the bathroom, or the very nice wardrobe. The room is currently missing a fridge (although there is space for it), and it has not AC, although the corridors are cooled well. Instead, there is a fan, which in the afternoon heat barely helped.
