Breakfast: The food was tasty, but the portions were too small. Ambiance: The hotel is thoughtfully designed, with plenty of surfaces to place belongings, which is very convenient. Drawbacks: The sound insulation between floors is poor. I could hear thumping noises from the upstairs room late at night, and I also clearly heard hangers clanging against something from upstairs, possibly due to pipe connections."

"How can it be so hot in the room? Every room has a fan, but the blades were covered in dust. Even though it felt dirty, the room temperature was so high that we'd rather put up with the dusty fan just to get some air. The shower water, even at its hottest setting, was colder than body temperature, I have no idea why. Maybe they thought the room was too hot and people needed a cold shower to cool down? The ladies at the front desk had great service, but everything else was just so-so. Definitely a "wouldn't stay again" kind of place."

On the other side of the square there's the bus terminal which is very convenient to get to kumbum monastery. The staff was very nice, they let me heat the baozi i bought at the supermarket (which unfortunately weren't tasty) the room is very big and they even gave us a sewing kit."

Its prime location makes getting around incredibly easy, and with the airport shuttle stopping right outside, catching a flight is a breeze. The rooms are well-equipped and functional, and the staff are friendly and proactive, handling all requests efficiently. The views from the high-floor rooms are exceptional; the city lights up beautifully at night, making for a truly comfortable stay. I highly recommend it! My only minor quibbles were with one of the cleaning staff. I asked for water twice but only received it the first time. The second time, she insisted she had already provided it. Some additional training might be beneficial there. Also, due to Qinghai's dry climate, a humidifier was necessary, but I noticed some limescale inside, so hygiene in that area could be improved. On a positive note, the front desk lady was absolutely wonderful and very thoughtful. She reminded us to buy oxygen canisters in the city for emergencies."

"After our trip to Qinghai, we returned to the Holiday Inn Express, and it felt like coming back to civilization. The front desk staff were professional and friendly. There's underground parking, and the room was clean and spacious. For dinner, we had 'Kaiguo Lamb' at the hotel restaurant – selected short ribs simmered in broth for 15 minutes, then dipped in sauce, which was absolutely delicious! We finished with some vegetables cooked in the same pot. The breakfast spread, a mix of Western and Chinese, was also very rich. Compared to other Holiday Inn Express hotels in mainland China, this one offered local specialties like yogurt and noodles. If I ever come back to Xining, I'll definitely choose to stay here again."
