Oriental aesthetics in every corner The guesthouse is converted from a century-old traditional Bai courtyard house. With its grey-tiled roofs, white walls, and beautifully carved wooden structures, the space carries a quiet sense of history and elegance. The courtyard features water elements, stone paths, and blue and yellow lanterns that create beautiful layers of light and shadow during the day. At night, the soft lighting outlines the architecture and gives the entire space a warm, cinematic atmosphere. The common areas are equally charming, with a stone-built fireplace, vintage furniture, and art pieces thoughtfully placed throughout. The design blends traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern touches, creating a space that feels both timeless and refined. Comfort with thoughtful details Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. A stone feature wall behind the bed, paired with soft bedding and warm lighting, created a subtle sense of “wild luxury” while still feeling cosy and relaxed. Opening the window reveals the courtyard view — waking up to birdsong in the morning and watching the lanterns glow in the evening adds a special charm to the stay. Warm and attentive service From booking to check-out, the hosts were welcoming and attentive. Upon arrival, they introduced the history of the house and highlighted the design features of the property, and were happy to recommend nearby restaurants and local spots to explore. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented, with fresh fruit and delicate snacks — perfect for enjoying a slow afternoon in the courtyard. Breakfast included some local Bai-style flavours, simple yet delicious, and a lovely way to start the day. A peaceful location near the old town The guesthouse is tucked away in Zhongyin Village at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, about a 15-minute drive from Dali Ancient Town. It offers a quiet retreat away from the crowds while still being conveniently close to the main attractions. Surrounded by village life and forested hills, the air feels fresh and full of the scent of nature. More than just a place to stay, Mutian Time feels like a living piece of art. It brought a sense of calm and poetry to our trip to Dali. The experience at AnYu was perfect. The hotel is located in the ancient city. Taxi/Uber can park right in front the hotel entrance unlike some other ancient city hotels need to walk from the main street, which is incredibly convenient. The ”Nanyang style” decor style is retro and divine. Every single piece of the furniture and decor item is beautifully chosen, even including the fire distinguisher box! Excellent ambiance, BOSE music system is throughout the whole building. Dyson hair dryer, different type of charging cables in the best side table, every single details reflect the thoughtfulness. From exquisite afternoon tea, night snack (Broth of white fungus or hot milk), to ‘fine dining’ breakfast, every detail has been handled perfectly, and all complimentary. Big thank you to the staff, international 5+ star hotel standard, their beautiful smile truly make you feel like home, and hands down they make best coffee in Dali!

The hotel offers a lot of services which add value to the stay experience. There were self-serve fresh coffee and a variety of herbs/ flower tea selection at the lobby, free laundry services, afternoon high tea and night dessert. We really appreciate passing our clothes which required laundry to the staff and return to collect freshly laundry clothes. The staff is reachable easily via WeChat. They also offer complimentary pick up from the train station. If I really have to pick on something - there is no view in the room I stayed in even though it was bright and spacious. Overall highly recommend a stay.

We stayed here from 12–15 May during our honeymoon and decided to do our Yunnan trip entirely on our own. Dali was our first destination after landing in Kunming the night before, and it turned out to be the perfect start to our journey. Since our train arrived early at around 9:00 AM, I contacted the host a few days in advance to ask if an early check-in would be possible. Not only were they happy to accommodate our request, but they also kindly offered to pick us up from the station. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our host, Mei, who gave us a tour of the property after check-in. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The architecture is absolutely stunning, from the outside, it feels like staying in a beautiful traditional palace within the old town, while the interior is thoughtfully modernized with every comfort you could need. Our room was incredibly spacious, and we especially loved the heated bathroom floors and the bidet, which was a pleasant surprise. There is also a rooftop area where guests can enjoy a beautiful sunrise view. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. Guests are given several options, and parts of the menu change daily, which kept things interesting. What we looked forward to most every morning was the amazing yogurt served with homemade rose jam, it was honestly the best we've ever had. We mentioned how much we loved it, and at the end of our stay, Mei surprised us with a jar to take home. Such a thoughtful gesture! Every evening, the hotel served a warm dessert, introducing us to flavors that were completely new yet delicious. We were also treated to a complimentary afternoon tea. To make our honeymoon even more special, Mei and her team surprised us with a personalized cake, which was incredibly touching. The location is very convenient, with several Muslim-friendly eateries within a 10-minute walk, as well as convenience stores nearby. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the hospitality. Out of all the accommodations we stayed at during our Yunnan trip, this was by far the best. Mei went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, constantly sharing recommendations, travel tips, and local insights to help us make the most of our time in Dali. We genuinely felt cared for throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for honeymooners and newlyweds looking for a memorable and heartfelt experience. InsyaAllah, we will definitely return on our future trips to Dali.

I can't fault this hotel! Location is excellent, walking distance to Three Pagodas (left 10mins) and also walking distance to the North Gate of the old town, turn right 5-10 mins straight line. The hotel grounds and restaurant have a view of the pagodas. Our room was huge, quiet and had everything you might need. Some very nice details too, cups, glasses, cutlery, all very stylish; turn down service with milk. Breakfast was very good, not huge, bit it had lots of local specialties and standard western items. However, probably one of the biggest hotel assets is Kadi, French GM (especially if you are foreigner). He was super helpful, very informative and knowledgable about the area and he gave us some great tips for visiting local sites, how best to visit pagodas, where to go exactly on the Erhai lake (not the usual spots) and he suggested really great places to eat, just listen to his recommendations; he even made chef make us rose petal salad for breakfast, as the days we were there it wasn't offered for breakfast :). Other staff was great too, no English spoken (except Kadi), but everyone was very responsive on WeChat. I just wish we stayed more then 2 days, Dali has much to offer!

Location- excellent spot, at the bottom of the pedestrianised walk up the hill to the heart of Dali ancient town. Full of local speciality shops, restaurants and bars. On the westside of erhai lake with the cycle trail that passes through *4 try Hotel - Small boutique hotel, modernist /scandi style. Well thought out and designed layout. Room was well equipped and clean. Great coffee and good quality set daily breakfast. Staff - warm friendly service, always happy to help, but make bookings and advise on itinerary. A credit to the hotel. Negatives - Shower has wear and tear and could be redecorated. Showing signs of damp. Aircon on the duplex unit noisy and needs replacing. Also room really needs a small 2seater sofa to complete it. Great little hotel with amazing service!

Overall experience average at Dali Ocean hotel Not up to expectation for the price paid for a should be kids-friendly five star hotel in China. eg: breakfast not much choice, and also not feeling very welcome by front desk staff. When i called them through phone, they just hang up the phone without me finishing the conversation yet, this shock me. Hotel not really kids friendly. Normally what I expect from a 5 star hotel which is into kids theme hotel should be more friendly to kids like giving out some small gifts for little ones, but Dali Ocean Hotel did not have such thing. And also price paid not include visiting the oceanarium. Unexpectedly the dinner we ordered through hotel restaurant and truffle pizza (complimentary in my package) are delicious. Room view Ok, can stay for a night to experience it yourself.

Perkhidmatan hotel juga sangat bertimbang rasa Untuk minum petang dan pencuci mulut selamat malam, butler akan bertanya dalam kumpulan jika anda memerlukannya pada waktu yang ditetapkan mereka di dalam peti sejuk supaya anda boleh memilikinya apabila anda kembali. Pada hari terakhir apabila saya pergi, Muxinbao menghantar saya ke lapangan terbang saya berasa sangat boleh dipercayai dan dijaga dengan sangat baik
