Ground floor room with shower, compact one small wardrobe, no kng size bed which nowadays are pretty well standard, my bedside table collapse, cheap self assembly. The Hotel as steps at entrance and steps inside to bar and dining room. Rather small lift to other floors. Breakfast self service for hot & cold food, down steps to dining room, meals average neither good or bad. We think they are packing too many Coach Tours at one time, causing meal times to be variable and not consistent.

Classic English hotel, my room was recently updated and clean; strange not to have daily cleaning service. Small Single room with sea view was expected and very cosy. Appreciate the soft, thick new carpet. Also the single armchair was well used to enjoy sitting by window for the view. Bathroom was brand new, modern and didn’t blend into environment which is a shame. The water from shower was either too hot or cold; also the shower head could not be fixed into the rail so needed holding up. Restaurant meal was very nice, service was especially friendly and attentive. I would stay again in the near future but remind other guests considering that this is a 3 star hotel so you should appreciate that this is meeting the expectations of this grading. Overall daily service at hotel reception was well appreciated and always greeted when passing . Well done and thank you to the hotel staff!

Great location and nice sea view right in the centre of town , short walk to the beach and shops , pubs etc . Stayed for one night , hotel was clean and got it for a great price , only thing we didn’t get a breakfast and was an extra £20 but Wetherspoons is just up the road for a breakfast . Would recommend this hotel if you want a cheap stay in Newquay 👍

This time I couldn't actually get a room booked up, ...............but I still popped in for a lovely meal,.............friendly staff great atmosphere and well done to the chef.........thankyou .................................

We had 2 nights here, 11-13 July. We arrived late, between 10-11pm, and the counter staff was very friendly n helpful. We did not manage to get dinner due to train delays but the front staff was kind to inform us that we could purchase some cold sandwiches and he would make sandwiches for us. 😊 The room price includes breakfast for which we were glad. We enjoyed the breakfast thoroughly. The views from the hotel overlooking the St Ives beach is truly amazing. The hotel grounds were immaculately maintained. You must walk through their walled garden … it is well landscaped and very beautiful. It felt like walking in some professionally well curated botanical garden. 👍🏼

The hotel is amazing for my fist solo holiday this was amazing the staff was super friendly and the breakfast was incredible the rooms get cleaned every day wich is very nice and overall a great experience especially when your eating breakfast or lunch as you can see the sea what a great view this has to be probably the best hotel in the center of Newquay 10 minutes walk to the harbour and 2 minutes to the train station this was a great week.

This was a wonderful stay in Fowey, where we enjoyed a Sea view room with a view of the water and the town of Polruan across the way. The entire property had a relaxed, upscale feel and the included continental breakfast was great (with options to pay for hot items). Friendly and helpful service that helped us find dinner availability when our reserved spot unexpectedly closed for the day. Bed was comfortable and the furnishings were nicely outfitted. Highly recommend!

Staff were absolutely wonderful from housekeepers to waiters, a very special mention goes to Prue who went above and beyond for our stay, and also another special mention to Lisa thank you both so much, they are very special managers. Breakfast was to die for 5* . We had an issue with the bedroom which was sorted very quickly. This is a lovely relaxing Hotel, do go and experience it.

This hotel is beautiful from the outside but needs a serious refurbishment.. the Georgian architecture is lovely and surrounding grounds immaculate. The rooms are In dire need of renovation The food itself lets the hotel down My local mussels were lukewarm and the sauce itself lacked depth and seasoning as well as garlic My fish and chips saved the day as you couldn’t fault it … However my breakfast of poached eggs on toast was limp bread with no frills Such a shame for a beautiful building

Great little B&B pub our room not to big but had everything in side very clean breakfast excellent but don’t forget to stay for the evening meal lots of great locals in the pub made us feel very welcome, owner always on hand if needed , definitely would stay again

Such a good price for the location and the room, we had a sea view and the room was so clean and very modern I thought! Bathroom very small but didn’t really bother us you get what you pay for, we had bottles of water and little shampoo and conditioners and even a hair dryer and fan! Ideal! Perfect location in the middle of town! The Bed was the cosiest bed I have ever slept in, even better than my own haha! Staff very nice especially the male bar tender, super friendly and welcoming!

Unfortunately (and I believe it’s the manager - shaved head and glasses) is just so rude. Local to the area so we have the ‘locals’ card - which has always been an issue. In the past when we have shown it to the staff they’re like ‘we’ve put it on’ when we actively see they haven’t. We recently had to renew the locals card, and every time the new code given to us doesn’t work. My husband has tried three times, and given his details to the staff three times because they ‘promise it will get sorted’. This last time, the above mentioned manager just had no desire to assist. Quite stiff when we ordered drinks, short with his staff. When we gave him the locals card number he said ‘it’s expired’ and just brought over the PDQ without even trying to look into it. When I expressed that it really didn’t seem fair to not look into as it wasn’t our fault he said ‘well it’s not my fault either! - cutting me off as I was trying to explain that this would now be the third time we have followed the instruction to use the QR code and leave details with them. I just said ‘that’s a bit spicy and rude way to respond but okay’ and walked off to him shouting after me ‘no it’s not really!’ I’m sorry, I do love this place for so many reasons and memories but this manager is just so rude.

To avoid traffic, we left early and arrived at the hotel at 12:30 pm. Unfortunately, Jordanna informed us that our rooms were not available and that she would call us when they were. We returned just after 2 pm, the rooms were still not ready, and we were asked to wait. Which we did. Shortly after, it was disappointing seeing other guests arrive and immediately welcomed and given their room keys. We were eventually given our keys at 2:50pm. Our initial experience checking in has not been good and the staff in control along with the housekeeping manager, I think her name is Jane, could do with a serious brush up on hospitatility as their current approach is risible at the very least ! The hotel has an immense odour of damp that you will find strong in the lift, the corridors of each floor, and we also found it in our bathroom. Although the room was supposedly checked by Jane before our keys were given, the standard is low and we were greeted with filthy windows, (picture below) and drawers and cupboards that also smelt really bad along with a bathroom with no window and once again a horrible damp odour and what looks like mould on the ceiling. I would like to shout out to Lee, the porter who was excellent along with the Sheena at reception, who was also pleasant. The breakfast is also well made and is good value. The swimming pool is circa 33 ft long but okay and it was warm.. Being 8 feet deep at one end was a nice surprise for us. The changing rooms are filthy, so we would return to our rooms to get changed. The steam room often does not work and also smells, but the jacuzzi is nice. Finally, the location is very good. However, the negatives are too high for the price we paid, and I believe I can find better options and, more importantly, a better service, especially upon arrival from other hotels. The reception and housekeeping really let the hotel and me down. Specifically, Jane and the ladies who were instructing Jordanna. Who I could hear but not see. My family and I will not be returning, and we would not recommend Hotel Victoria.

Really nice hotel. Location is up on the hill. If you come by train, you have to climb stairs to reach the hotel. Breakfast is nice especially the hot food that made upon order. Enjoyed the scenery while having breakfast The staff maybe need to be more friendly.

Amazing location, our balcony room was overlooking the stunning Porthminster beach, the room felt very luxurious and the dressing gowns are a lovely touch. It has been my mums dream to stay here, and she wasn’t disappointed. Kellie and the team looked after mum from the minute we arrived until we left. We ate in the dining room on the first night and the food was outstanding. The breakfast had a good continental choice as well as a varied hot menu. The staff deserve another mention, we felt so looked after by everyone, they are always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much Kellie and your lovely team - I can’t wait for my return in April with my husband to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Mum is also looking to return soon too 😊

What a lovely b&b. The host is really great.gives alot of information and is very welcoming. Bed was lovely and comfy and rooms nice and clean. Breakfast is quite alot of choice aswell. Would definitely stay here again close to chip shop and a lovely tapas place. If you want to eat out definitely book a table.

Wellington is more a pub with rooms on the main square, there is no hotel car park but there is a free car park 100yds down the road. Rooms are accessed through a messy rear exit and some rooms have a glass frontage which is a bit dis-concerting. Reasonable breakfast but service can be slow if busy. Decent pub food in the evening but bar is very busy 7 noisy with locals and tourists during season.

The breakfast buffet spread was good..however The room window was very small and high..you can’t view outside which makes the room look even smaller.. good for overnight stay

Had a lovely stay in this hotel which is full of personal touches. We turned up a week early (my darling other half had got the booking wrong ) but was soon sorted and we were shown to a lovely room with sea views. Breakfast was lovely and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Penzance

We had a 3 night stay and it was very nice. It’s situated a 5 minute walk from the train station and buses. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. In addition to breakfast we had dinner on a couple of nights too and the food each time was delicious. All the staff we met were super friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. I loved all the signs along the hallway giving directions to reception- it’s so easy to get confused in these old buildings

What a difference 3 years can do to such lovely place. That I have held dear to my heart. Sometimes revisiting a place comes with regret! My review from few years ago is the complete opposite. We are greeted with lovely service, she even got the chef to get us some chips though the kitchen Just closed. It was a mix of super rude, stressed out staff to super lovely friendly staff. Over priced not worthy small cocktails- mocktails. Dairy free hot chocolate over priced & nothing to what I remembered, I ask for it pretty strong, I love strong tasting hot chocolate, to be confirmed I will try, how do do you try? It was more dairy free milky than strong. I would of gone back but being my birthday & having the best day, I wasn't going to even go and ask and to no doubt get more rudeness. Am not sure if some staff we're winding another staff member up. The vibes was all over the place. My partner wen't to pay and the strangest thing was the girl with such lovely serice on our arrival was rude out the blue to him to cause he wasn't understanding the payment procedure as it was given information on the key pad. Very mixed return
