A stunning location - absolutely wow. The bedrooms each have stunning views and are spacious with glass to ensure you enjoy the view. But I found it odd there were no amenities. No liquid soap and shampoo. The gym was very good and the pool fabulous. The food was a bit hit and miss. We ended up having the 5 course dinner each night. It was good. But not brilliant. Breakfast was fabulous. Great choices. I really enjoyed this place and would definitely return.

We stayed for 5 nights in the X-Alp hotel during our summer holiday/honeymoon. Everything was perfect! The staff helped us to plan our daily activities and they're extremely friendly and helpful both in the reception and in the restaurant. The spa section was tastefully decorated and a perfect ending for an active day on the mountains. The breakfast wasn't so versatile, but you find every morning something to fill up your plate. The best thing in the breakfast was the cake table with several different tasty pleasures. Kiitos, kaikki oli erinomaista! :)

Soggiornato in famiglia durante i mercatini di Natale a dicembre 2022. Camera pulita molto grande con bovindo incorporato... con tanto di divanetti e tavolino, molto utili per fare pausa pranzo o merenda. Bagno fornito di kit per l'igiene (shampoo, bagnoschiuma e detergente mani) davvero ottimi. Colazione molto valida e posteggio interno comodo. Assolutamente consigliato per una gita a Bressanone!

Temporary homes di assoluto pregio nel pieno centro di Bolzano (via museo). Alloggi di recente costruzione, spaziosi, con rifiniture di pregio e gestione high tech delle stanze. Letto estremamente confortevole. Bagno molto spazioso con accessori da bagno di pregio. È stata una permanenza veramente piacevole. Nel mio caso non ne ho usufruito perché viaggiavo in treno, ma la struttura offre anche un parcheggio sotterraneo. Unico piccolo neo, l’assenza di deposito bagagli.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in early August. We can't speak well enough about the staff--kind and informative--and about the location, close to many wonderful trails and hikes. Our room was spotless and essential. Don't expect a 5* hotel, but everything you need is there. The breakfast buffet was generous and tasty. We had dinner at the hotel twice. The first time the restaurant was pretty empty, so our plates were generously refilled for free. The second time the restaurant was busy but we ate well. Food is mostly home-made and traditional. Don't expect fancy presentations or fine cuisine, but everything was fresh and tasty. Menu options are limited, but that's reasonable given that there is only one cook and she makes almost everything from scratch. Don't hesitate to ask staff for hike recommendations. We were given plenty and their adivice was excellent. We loved our stay and we would definitely come back!

The Adler really is truly remarkable hotel. It’s more like a luxury cruise liner than regular hotel. You could realistically book a week here and never have to leave the hotel – such is the breadth of activities on offer. Of course that would be a great mistake as Ortisei is one of the prettiest small towns in the region. A short walk and a mountain gondola ride away, is the spectacular panorama of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage area – Alpe di Siusi. We’ve seen this awesome (literally) panorama in both winter and summer and it still manages to take our breath away. The hotel manages to tastefully integrate Tyrolean charm, with Italian style. The public areas are a delight on the eye and very comfortable indeed. Our room (204) was immaculate. I genuinely could not fault one single aspect; it was all so well designed and easy to use. It goes without saying that all the things you would expect from a room in a hotel of this calibre (such as toiletries) were included. Meals were generally excellent with one notable exception which I will come to later. Buffet choices (simply salads or desserts) were expansive. When there was a special buffet evening, (such as the fish and the local speciality evenings) the choices were astonishing. The phrase “spoiled for choice” could have been written to describe these evenings. This especially applied to the range of bread products at breakfast. We have never (and I do mean never) seen such an array of different types of fresh bread. In November of last year, we stayed at a five star establishment in Florence and I was mightily impressed. I have to tell you that it didn’t come close to what is on offer at the Adler. The same goes for every aspect of the food at the Adler – choice and quality are the bywords. Not to mention the excellent (and very reasonably priced) wine list. Considering the amount of covers this hotel deals with (it’s not exactly a small hotel) the kitchen performed spectacularly well. We did not have a single disappointing meal…apart from our first. On our first night, the staff dealing with our part of the dining room (everyone was absolutely first class) advised us to check out the fish buffet before considering our later options. This was wise advice, as the buffet was simply breath-taking. I have never seen so much seafood in one place – and top quality stuff at that. So I didn’t pay much attention to what was to follow and ordered the vegetarian Lasagne with crispy Cavolo Nero. I’m sorry to say this was the worst pasta dish I have ever eaten. The sheets of fresh pasta had collapsed to form a thick, two centimetre block of stodge, topped with some crispy cabbage – genuinely awful. That lasagne – thankfully – was not typical. For the rest of the week we dined like royalty, with a special mention to the dessert team, who delivered visually amusing, utterly delicious endings to all of our meals. This hotel was meh and felt a little scammy. We ended up in Bolzano for 1 night coming from the Dolomites and didn’t have a room anywhere. I always prefer to book directly thought the hotel rather than a third party and on their site, it mentioned a double room with breakfast for €117. I emailed right away and within 20 minutes received a reply with a quote for €195. I asked about the cheaper rate and was told it was no longer available, so I booked at the higher rate. However, once we checked in the following night, I got curious and checked again for the same night and the €117 price said it was still available for that night. I felt like they used that to lure you in. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were friendly but our room was a little outdated and the floor felt like there were soft spots or holes in multiple places. I can deal with outdated but the holes covered by carpet were weird. The place was clean and a good size and also fairly quite so no complaints there. In addition, they had parking available for a few. When you book you have to select their garage, however, the do have a few uncovered spaces available that are a little cheaper but are first come first served and not reservable so ask about those. If you are coming by car, get directions on where to park before you get there. It is in a busy area right by the train station so we pulled into the garage next door and ended up having to pay and extra €2,50 AND had to move the car. The location is great for both the train station and the old town is walkable in about 5-10 minutes. The breakfast selection was quite large and had an assortment of coffee, pastries and fresh items.

We just came back from a couple of days holidays in Bolzano. this hotel was one of the best hotels we have been so far. Excellent location (7 minutes walk from station and right in the center of town), immaculate and good size rooms, wonderful spa and Jacuzi, ... Breakfast was good but a bit limited on variety. Staff are very friendly and helpful, specially Shabab who gave us a lot of super useful tips about the city and sightseeing. He also helped us to upgrade the room which was amazing. We could not fault anything in the hotel. We were also impressed with free Bolzano Card which was offered by hotel and is really fantastic for using cable cars, buses etc free of charge. We'd definitely go back.

While many seem to like this hotel, we can't say the experience was that enjoyable. The building feels tired, with an interior renovation done in an 80's style appearing dated. We followed the directions to the underground carpark (thankfully provided by the hotel), and discovered steps up and down to get to the hotel, and then up again to get from reception to the elevator. Hardly a deal-killer, but annoying nonetheless to schlep the luggage after a long day. Interior decor was surprising - it was neither ”classic old” nor ”modern chic”. Instead the reception area felt like something you might see at the counter of a Jamba Juice in a nondescript American mall. It was probably refreshing when first built, but style, particularly Italian style, has moved on significantly. Out of the elevator we found more stairs to get to our room. It was certainly spacious, but the style again felt dated. The bed was in a loft, up a set of noisily-creaking stairs, with a sloping roof skylight. Window coverings were good, blacking out the light of a very early sunrise, but we couldn't get the air conditioner to get the room below 22 or so (roughly 71), downstairs, and it was warmer still upstairs - all making for an uncomfortable night. The location was good for wandering around the old part of the City, but we have to believe that there are other centrally-located hotels offering a better experience. On any future trip we would likely opt for a stay in the beautiful surrounding area, visiting the old town (which the City seems to be intent on further improving) on a day trip.

We stayed in an apartment here in 2019 and based upon the experience of this we re booked for our 2024 stay of 10 nights. Again we had a superb stay, the apartment was immaculate, quiet and very comfortable. It is also very secure. Our apartment had a good size balcony with clothes line which was very handy for our stay. The kitchen area had an oven cooktop, full size fridge and cutlery plates and cooking utensils. The location is ideal as well a supermarket is a short walk away, and also some smaller shops for milk bread and fruit very close by. The hotel does have a great restaurant and we dined here a couple of times for dinner well priced great food and excellent customer service. A bus top is in front of the apartment which enabled trips to another Town called Merano and the bus into Bolzano including a stop over the road from the Train station. Would highly recommend booking a stay in these apartments, there is parking on site and lift to access the apartments, noting the lift can offer access to apartment floors if you are staying there as you have a key to access the floors.

With Bolzano picked simply as a midway stop for our drive from Germany to Tuscany, we weren't expecting too much of the town but this hotel looked promising. We were pleased that BOTH exceeded our expectations. The city is vibrant and picturesque to where we wish we had stayed a few days instead of just a day and a half. As for Hotel Hortenberg, it was delightful and had an impressive feel. Our room (101) was clean, spacious, quiet, tastefully decorated, and with a generously sized bathroom. We found the staff to be welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. The breakfast bar had something for everyone, with all selections fresh and well supplied. The garden and pool area were a pleasant oasis where barely a noise was to be heard from outside the property walls. The view up the mountain towering over the hotel and neighborhood was impressive. We hope to return to this area one day and to choose this hotel again.

Hotel is lovely and all good quality. . Our room was an executive liberty and was large with everything you need. Location was perfect for the centre of Riva. Breakfasts were good although rather busy at the chef station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool area is clean but just not enough sun beds for the amount of guests. Spa was great which we used when we were unable to go round the pool. Towels and robes available. I would recommend this hotel and would return if I ever return to Riva.

We just spent the last week of January in this hotel. The rooms were adequate and covered all the basics. The staff were friendly and tried their best. The main complain was the food. Breakfast was acceptable but dinner was terrible. They offered various options but food was either cold, badly prepared or tasteless. Even tortellini in ”brodo” that is such a simple dish, was inedible. The menu did not reflect what was served. Canederli in ”brodo” was actually in butter and only one dry, tasteless ”canederlo”. Porcini mushrooms was not porcini but a mix of different mushrooms. Meat was tough and tasteless. Pasta and gnocchi was always overcooked, cold and without salt. My husband is intollerant to cow milk and even after making this very clear a week before, they still served desserts and breakfast items to him with milk powder inside. A real shame as generally food is good in Italy.

Everything top! We always stay here on our way to Italy. Nice room, new bathroom, friendly staff. Breakfast with lots of choices. Nearby also a good choice of restaurant offering tasty pizza and meat/seafood.

Very nice family hotel. We stayed in a room on the first floor. Very nice personnel and very nice breakfast. It was quiet. The room was spacious. Very nice big walk-in shower. Maybe a handlebar grab would be safer. To get to the hotel you need to turn into a cuve on the road.nit requires a bit of attention. Surely recommended
