Excellent location, super convenient! It's just a 2-minute walk from the Shinkansen exit to the hotel. You pass by a food street with all sorts of restaurants on the way. You take the escalator up to the 4th floor to check in. On the 4th floor, there's a lounge exclusively for guests where you can enjoy free coffee and juice. There's also a gym, and the view is quite nice. The room is spacious enough for two people. And the Gyutan (beef tongue) street inside the station? A perfect 100%! 💯
The room was quiet, clean, and looked very new. The front desk staff spoke fluent English and provided excellent service. The building's earthquake resistance is outstanding – early this morning, there was an M5.7 earthquake in Miyagi Prefecture (intensity 3), and I felt both the bed and the entire building shaking (O_O)! Despite that, it felt very secure! You can stay here with complete peace of mind!
Complimentary toiletries are available on the 1st floor, along with tea and coffee sachets. On the 2nd floor, you'll find washing machines, dryers, a water dispenser, vending machines, and an ice maker.
The room was quite spacious. Both the hairdryer and showerhead were high-end Refa brand, which was a pleasant and novel touch. Daily complimentary bottled water is also provided.
No deposit was required, check-in was quick and convenient, and check-out was incredibly fast! Highly recommended!
Super near Sendai station and there’s a 7/11 round the corner from the hotel. It’s also very near an eating area, superb location. There’s a bathhouse in the hotel but we didn’t try. For the price I think it’s a real steal!
The room is a good size. Each floor has an ice machine, and irons are available. There's a Western restaurant downstairs, and it's very convenient for shopping and dining nearby. We took the subway to the Sendai Museum and saw the Lu Xun statue. To visit the Guanyin statue, you'll need to take a public bus or the sightseeing loop bus.
Convenient location where JR station, subway stations are within walking distance. Very good breakfast with lots of local delicacies. I like the public bath too despite room a bit small but the layout is good that u have enough space to open your luggage. Free coffee at lobby.
Great location! Few minutes walk from Sendai station and surround with lots of shops, restaurants and department store. There are 7-eleven and Starbucks at the first floor. The room is very nice. Everything is new, clean, with good space for two 28” luggage to open at the same time and we still can walk around the room. The staffs were so nice and provided prompt support. We found problem about the hair dryer at midnight and the staff changed a new one to us immediately.
There are free amenities that you could pick at lobby.
Highly recommend and would definitely choose this hotel if we have a chance to visit Sendai again 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great location, about a 10-minute walk to Sendai Station. It's very close to the morning market and there's a convenience store nearby. The room was clean and tidy, and the kettle boiled water quickly. The lobby is also very beautiful.
Hotel Monterey is centrally located just outside the Sendai Station and is easily seen after you exit the station. The staff was very courteous and helpful at the time of check in. Language could be an issue but is easily manageable. I was offered a single room in a lower floor and on my request for a room on the higher floor, without any hesitation I was allotted a double room on the higher floor.
The ambience of the restaurant for breakfast was great and the variety of food served catered to Japanese and western. The breakfast was delicious.
I had to extend my stay and this was also done seamlessly without any issues.
Overall a great hotel centrally located with plenty of shopping around. If I come to Sendai again, I will return to Hotel Monterey if I visit Sendai again.
I was deeply impressed by Hotel Montemana Sendai. The rooms were spacious and bright, and the beds were comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The hotel also provided excellent service, with friendly and helpful staff always on hand. The breakfast was varied and delicious, providing a refreshing start to the day. The hotel also boasts a prime location, convenient transportation, and a wealth of amenities nearby. Overall, Hotel Montemana Sendai is a highly recommended and excellent hotel.
The location is close to Sendai Station, however, they should train the junior staff to be more helpful.

GGuest UserThe hotel is incredibly close to the train station, making it super convenient for getting around. The front desk service was generally satisfactory. It's also great for easily exploring the surrounding area on foot and is very close to the Lu Xun Memorial Hall. The room itself was a bit more spacious than typical Japanese hotel rooms.

GGuest UserCheck-in and check-out was really easy.
Room and hotel both had nice amenities. But the room could have been a bit cleaner. I noticed during my 4-night-stay, that the room had not been vacuum cleaned once and two times I received a slip of paper by the cleaning staff that the cleaning could not be completed. One time they stated that there still was my stuff on the table and therefore it could not be cleaned. Another time, they did just leave the slip without checking a reason. I was confused both times, since all the things left on the table were the ones the hotel put there. The bathroom should also not only be treated for mold, but should be cleaned more thoroughly in general, since there was still dirt on the walls and cealing, which caused a small number of flies to live in the bathroom.
Some people might also find it hard to fall asleep, since the walls are thin and you can hear the noise from the street as well as the very loud bathroom vent that is on 24/7 and cannot be switched off.
Location of the hotel was easy to find and very central, so that was really nice.
GGuest UserI am so glad I chose Komatsu-kan during my stay in Matsushima. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful. When I told him I am a vegetarian, he kindly informed the kitchen to exclude animal flesh and seafood from my meal. (Usually, hotels ignored my food request, or they just gave me tofu and pickles for my meal.) The next morning, I was so surprised to see my breakfast. I loved the fresh salad, steamed vegetables, over-easy eggs, chawan-mushi, and the pickles even tasted better than before.
Then the room surprised me with the pine tree and the beautiful sea view. The next morning I woke up at 4:45 to see the sunrise. Just from my room, I could see the sun slowly rising from the other side of the sea. Stunning! I really enjoyed the little Me time here.
Actually, this hotel is well-maintained, and that helps raise the value of it. I also love the fresh little flowers right next to the washing basin. And the people working here are quite ya-sa-shi. They are kind and gentle. Generally speaking, this is a nice place worth staying and relaxing in.
MM291451****The check-in process is fully self-service, and the check-in machine even has a Chinese language option. The room itself is decent, a bit larger than your average Japanese business hotel. However, in a standard twin room, you still can't open two suitcases at once; one has to go under the bed. The location is excellent. It's just a short walk from the elevator next to Sendai Station Parco 2, heading towards the morning market. Alternatively, if you take the Tozai Line subway, exit at West 1, take the direct elevator up, you'll first see a Starbucks, then a 7-Eleven, turn there and walk towards the morning market, and it's also a short distance away. For those applying for a three-year visa, remember to ask the front desk staff for a 'stay certificate,' which they can even provide in Chinese, Japanese, and English. 😂
MMackey119I stayed for a night. There was nice hot spring and sauna! If you like hot spring or sauna, you should choose this capsule hotel! The location is the center of Sendai city, and you can access easily from Sendai station.
MMarble202Transportation: easiest with a 50-min taxi ride from Sendai airport unless int’l traveler wants to transfer via trains/buses. Nearest bus stop/little township is 遠刈田温泉 (13-min by foot to the Inn).
Key feature is open air onsens in forestry — this is why I chose to stay. Delightful breakfast and dinner (during dinner, there are all-inclusive drinks menu + additional charge ones). I enjoyed the 2nd night’s beef/daikon pot in particular. There are hearth side afternoon refreshment, happy hour beer, post-dinner snack that you will be kept fed warmly.
The aircon in Buna room would blow directly on the head so the fan blade should be adjusted.
Staff English speaking capability varies but they made every effort in solving problems. Little hiccup after checking out that the bus time table the Inn indicated was outdated, but I still managed to change my route in the fly, which is the beauty traveling in Japan.

GGuest UserI always book this hotel on Trip.com when I'm in Sendai for business. My colleagues who travel with me also say it's a great place to stay. The breakfast is plentiful, the environment is clean, and the location is right next to the shopping street. It's also very close to Sendai Station, only about a ten-minute walk.
