Well, let’s start off by saying Mauritius, you exceeded my expectations. I absolute adore you and you people. We stayed at the Outrigger, and I must say all the negative opinions were dismissed within 30 minutes of being there. Yes, the hotel needs some TLC, but that didn’t stop me and my family from total peace and comfort. Over a couple of beers Rory their marketing director would talk passionately of there works scheduled over the coming year, you could just tell how much everybody enjoys working at the outrigger. Both rooms were huge, with all the amenities, you could ever want, from decent AC to a swimming pool bath (children’s comment). Hairdryers keep the ladies happy, and an abundance of clean towels, slippers and dressing gowns, nice touch. Bed linen and pillows were a decent standard and change every couple of days. Loved the towel sculptures, and the handmade chocolates on valentine day. The location was to die for, long sandy beaches with swaying palm trees. At 18:30 every evening the 10,00 plus birds would come home to roost for the evening, the noise was so tranquil, it was one of my personal favourites. The flying foxes (bats would gracefully fly around with no care in the world. Take a finishing rod with float rigs, getting pulled along the lagoon in a two-man kayak was fun. Thanks, good it pulled the hook The food was that good the kids loved it, and after a couple of days, the Outrigger team knew us by first name terms, and did everything they could do to make a stay unique and perfect in my mind. We took the option to try different eating locations from Water edge (crab Shack) for the Valentine’s meal and numerous others to our final night having freshly prepared Tapas in the Mercado restaurant. There are so many people to thank, but there were two, (mainly because I like sundowners in the bar) to say they made our holiday beyond special, Sandy, you are an absolute star, and if I don’t hear Mr Hill would you like another beer in the next 3 months you know where I’m coming back too. Finally, my little brother Yanish (room service) I loved the fact you laughed at my jokes more importantly seemed to understand them, you are a talent. You had the uncanny ability to just be there when I needed something, it was like having my own very own kind butler, and weather correspondent. Also, a personal thanks to animation team, playing the Frensh at pétanque, was funny especially when an English gentleman, finds his calling in life, next move Paris. As Arnie says, “We will be back!” Outrigger you have been my favourite holiday of all time, I personally wouldn’t change anything. In fact please don’t.

From the moment I stepped into the establishment, I felt welcomed by the friendly staff. The customer service was top-notch, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff was attentive and courteous, and they went above and beyond to ensure I had a great dining experience. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty meal and exceptional service, a big thanks to Jean Edinho and Sandiren..

Amazing authentic Mauritian food experience. Great service with very friendly and attentive staff. Food was incredible and very tasty. Chef even came out to discuss some of the curries. Highly recommended for anyone that would like to try something different away from the hotels.
