"Sound proofing of the rooms are real bad. If you are to leave the windows open for ventilation as there is no air condition unit, you will not be able to have a restful night as those rooms facing the street can hear the noise of the people talking and laughing, vehicles noise, garbage truck till very late into the night and early in the morning. Even if you are to close the windows and bear with the poor ventilated room, you can still hear the noises from the street. Otherwise a decent hotel in a good location. Service is lukewarm and just average."

"It was near to the main train station about 10mins walk. Easy to do self check in and code our room keys. Room was clean and tidy. There are couple of steps on the floor of our room so if you need accessible room it could be a problem unless you make a request. Unfortunately the shared kitchen is under renovation there is only a kettle and microwave. It also has a laundry for people who needs it. Otherwise it is good value for money"

"Lovely hotel at the heart of the city. Just beside most tourist spots! Though the place is going through a renovation, it’s still maintained well and doesn’t give any trouble to the guests! Breakfast spread is good too Now, personally they kept some dinner aside for us as we were arriving late - Special thanks to that We were checking out early - they packed breakfast for us which was nice of them. Those fresh croissants and lemon muffins were too good They have an in house sauna which is a great place to relax after a tiring day. Special mention to ‘Mia’ at the front desk for taking good care of us and making the stay from pleasant to overwhelming"

"Pleasant stay at Bergen Børs overall. The location is convenient, making it easy to get around. The room was generally clean and comfortable. However, there were a couple of minor issues. The power outlets are positioned low and require bending down to access, and the area around them was noticeably dusty. "We booked a **Superior Room** expecting it to be larger than a standard room\. However, the room provided was very small, with limited space and no room for additional seating\. When we raised this with staff, we were informed that at Scandic Torget, Superior Rooms offer a **water view but are not larger than standard rooms**\. While this reflects the hotel’s room categorisation, this distinction was not clearly communicated during the booking process\. Clearer information would be helpful, as the term “superior” is commonly understood to include additional space as well as a better view\. We also arrived at approximately **10:00 am** but were not able to check into our room until **4:45 pm**\. This resulted in a long wait on a cold, rainy day in Bergen\. The hotel’s location is excellent and the staff were polite when explaining the room categories\. However, the small room size, lack of clarity in the room description, and late check\-in meant the stay did not meet our expectations\. Based on this experience, we would not recommend Scandic Torget Bergen and are unlikely to choose a Scandic hotel again\."

The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation. There are many types of restaurants nearby, as well as a bookstore, supermarket, and a fish market. The front desk staff are polite. The room is spacious, and the mattress is comfortable. The lobby environment is quiet.

For a tourist without car, it is in excellent location, 7 minutes to railway station to/from airport on foot with luggage n railway ticket just cost nok44 , walking distance to cable station to Floyen mount or Bergenhus or Ferry pier and shops. I reserved a small room but got a room of good size with windows and sofa. There are supporting staff in reception always and they can help me for my enquiries. They can provide electrical kettle at request. Coffee is free in lobby. Breakfast is also good , simple with good choices. I will reserve it if I will visit Bergen again.

The hotel is located in downtown Bergen, just a 10-minute walk from the Fish Market. My room was in a separate building from the reception. The room was very clean, but it lacked amenities like toothbrushes, cups, and a kettle. The coffee machine on the first floor was out of water, and I had to go to the building across the street to get coffee, which was inconvenient at night. The elevator is old-fashioned and frequently stopped on the eighth floor, so guests often had to take the stairs.

Overall, I recommend this hotel. 1️⃣ It's only a few minutes' walk to the bus/light rail station, making it very convenient to get to the city center, train station, and airport. Even with luggage, it's not a strenuous walk. 2️⃣ Although it's a bit far from the city center, the convenient transportation makes up for it. You can take the bus or walk. I highly recommend walking to the Bryggen area; it's practically a straight path. The scenery along the way is lovely, and it's safe, so a leisurely stroll isn't tiring at all. 3️⃣ There's a recreational area right downstairs from the hotel, perfect for a walk or relaxation. The main highlight is the breathtaking scenery, making it an excellent spot to enjoy the sunset. 4️⃣ You can get ice buckets from the bar. We went every day to get ice to enjoy drinks in our room. 5️⃣ There's a large park nearby with beautiful lawns and flowers.

The location is fantastic! You can easily walk to the train station with your luggage in about six or seven minutes. Just turn left out of the hotel and walk straight down the relatively flat road until you see the train station, then cross the street. It's also within walking distance to the fish market or the cable car. A few minutes' walk from the hotel, there's a beautiful octagonal lake that's perfect for a stroll or some quiet reflection. The room I was assigned was clean, bright, and spacious, with a large window overlooking the street and some charming houses across the way. Check-in and check-out are self-service, but staff are available to assist if needed.

We found the Fretheim Hotel very pleasant upon arrival — from the beautiful entryway to the stunning views from our balcony and the delicious breakfast, it certainly makes a great first impression. However, our room was a disappointment. Walking in, it felt outdated and somewhat cheap, which was surprising given the price of 2800 NOK per night. Essentials were lacking: no face washers, tissues, or shampoo were provided (the staff suggested using body wash as a substitute), and we had to specifically request a small bottle of conditioner. The old age of the towels was clearly apparent, and mold was visible on the glass wall at the edge of the bath. Another unusual aspect was room temperature control: it’s managed from the main desk downstairs, and with no phone in the room, we had to go down late at night just to adjust it. We’ve never encountered this before. The bathroom clearly shows its age — dated to the late 1990s — and it contributed to the overall feeling of the room being out of step with the hotel’s otherwise high standard. In summary, while the hotel itself is charming and well-located, the room we stayed in did not meet expectations for the price and could benefit from updates and better in-room amenities.

Heaps of choices and sufficient quantities. Highly recommend. Gave a 4 for amenities, only because the conditioner needed to be refilled and the sauna was not accessible the day I was there, very minor issues.

Perfect location right in the city center. Walking distance to train, bus station and stops plus major tourist sights. Lots of restaurants within minutes of walking. Breakfast was decent, a plus when eating out is so expensive in Norway. Our room located in the front of the building can be a bit noisy during the weekend, having double glazed windows help. Friendly and helpful staff too. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for three nights and had a really good experience. The room had plenty of space and the facilities were great, especially having a kitchen, which was very convenient. The Wi-Fi worked well throughout our stay. The receptionist was also helpful whenever we needed assistance. The location was good and convenient for getting around. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and I would recommend this place.
