Its reoomended to stay at this hotel. Location in tge middle between bus station and morning market. Its bigger than any hotel at at tokyo in this price. Front office can speak english. And helpfull. Check out time at 11.00am, but if you still have time to strolling arround before your schedule to go to other city, than you can leave your luggage at this hotel.
One of the most unforgettable stays we’ve ever had. From the moment my family stepped through the door, we were wrapped in a warm, cosy ambience that instantly made us feel at ease. The room was impeccably clean and wonderfully comfortable, offering the perfect space to relax and unwind. Both dinner and breakfast were nothing short of exceptional—each meal thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delightful. The onsen, overlooking a serene river view, was the true highlight, creating a tranquil and almost dreamlike experience. Every moment spent there felt precious and completely worthwhile.
The hotel is very big with the very reasonable price. However, the hotel don’t have ONsen and the staff could not communicate in English. The were trying to help but it took time. The city is very big. We like Masa21 mall nearby the hotel where you can go for dinner and shopping.
Good location with alternative nearby car parks for parking. The hotel is very clean run by helpful staff who can speak English. The rooms are ok in size and the breakfast is very varied and delicious and serve mainly Japanese food. The staff are very attentive and polite. There is a public bath for use. The shower was hot and powerful. One needs to pack away outdoor shoes before entering the hotel with plastic lightweight slippers and lockers provided.
All in all a very excellent stay.
The view is awesome. So peaceful and earthy. Located on the hill, so it would be hard to walk to the ryokan with luggage, I guess. The public bath was spacious, which was great. Kaiseki dinner was so good! I've had them before at different ryokans, but this one is the best. And the server lady explained everything in English which was also a plus. It was very tasty. Breakfast was good, too. It got a bit loud from other rooms, which I expected as staying in an old building. Also, pretty cold at night (in early December), only the main room with a heater was warm. Still, it was a memorable stay in a good way.
Tokyu Stay Hida-Takayama MusubinoYu
I had a wonderful stay at Tokyu Stay Hida-Takayama Musubi no Yu, and it was truly one of the highlights of my trip.
👍 Pros
Superb Location
The location is perfect — it’s right next to both the bus terminal and the train station. This made arrival and departure extremely easy, especially when traveling with luggage. Everything felt very convenient.
Plenty of Restaurants Nearby
There are many restaurants within walking distance, so finding a place to eat was never a problem. Whether you want local Hida beef or simple Japanese dishes, there are lots of options around.
FamilyMart Around the Corner
Having a FamilyMart just around the corner was very convenient. It was easy to grab snacks, drinks, or anything we needed at any time.
Good Breakfast
The breakfast was good, with a nice variety of dishes. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying — a great way to start the day before sightseeing.
Private Onsen Experience
One of the best parts of our stay was visiting the private onsen. It was so relaxing and peaceful, and it felt like a special experience after a long day of walking. Definitely a memorable highlight!
⭐ Overall
Tokyu Stay Hida-Takayama MusubinoYu is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Takayama. With its unbeatable location, convenient surroundings, and relaxing private onsen, it offers both comfort and a unique Japanese experience. I would happily stay here again.
The hotel is new, location is good as well, only 5 mins walking distance to the JR Takayama station.
It is very close to the bus station to shirakawa-go as well.
There is a hotspring, luggage keeping service, and lounage etc for resident.
We had a drink in hotel restaurant at night, and it is great.
There are lots of restaurant and souvenir shops around, it is very convenience for the tourist.
I enjoyed my trip in Takayama
Located in proximity to the Gifu Station and surrounded by convenience shops and restaurants. The room was quite good, though some surfaces there were dusty and the drinking cups weren’t properly washed. Clean towels and water bottles were supplied every day. The staff was helpful and friendly.
A great hotel with a great location. Located next to Family Mart and close to the centre of the historical town. The room layout and size is spacious enough.
Will definitely rebook this hotel.
First time staying and love the location. Literally 2min head-on walk from Takayama station. Easily walking about 20mins to high street and restaurants but Lawson just up the road right opposite. Room is cosy with a kitchenette, washer and fridge but no table... our kids have to set up a table using a suitcase. First time seeing a Jap grill in their kitchenette which is a pleasant surprise! Only pick is on hair found on cook top, bath tub and fridge. 🫠 amenity drinks can be taken from reception counter but towels gotta go through the receptionist. Elevator is rather tiny and just about fit our 2 large, 1 medium and 1 small suitcases.

Amazing
DDavid BuffyMeatyAwesome hotel located just 5-10mins walk behind FamilyMart ie opposite the TAKAYAMA NOHI Bus Stn & JR. The check in was easy & front desk staff was very professional ensuring the process was easy & swift! The hotel has a great & large Hot Spring and outdoor Rotenburo Onsen they’re segregated Men-Women. The onsen lobby has large lounge space to relax, free ice cream and a large full length glass window overlooking you may sit on chairs & coin operated massage chairs enjoying the beautiful town and fabulous snow capped mountains at the edge of the town in the day & sunrise!!
The morning Japanese breakfast options are plentiful, staffs are helpful and friendly too! To walk to the Old Houses District perhaps only take 15mins leisure walk but gets really quiet & dark by 6PM in March!
XxcmttGreat location, within walking distance to many restaurants. They have their own paid parking, which is convenient for those traveling by car. The hot spring views must be beautiful during the day, and the facilities are very complete. Overall, a great experience!
ZzizibehappyArriving in Takayama by highway bus, I chose to stay at the same Residence Hotel as my previous visit. It's incredibly convenient, located just a left turn from the Nohi Bus Terminal exit, making it zero distance from both the bus and JR stations. The luxury suite is huge, featuring a balcony, four beds, and a fully equipped kitchen with pots, pans, a microwave, and a large refrigerator. The washing machine with a dryer was an absolute lifesaver. Even better, all the drinks in the fridge were complimentary, including two 2L bottles of mineral water, beer, sake, green tea, and cola. Basic condiments like salt, soy sauce, pepper, and cooking oil were also provided. There's a supermarket right next door, perfect for buying Hida beef and cooking up a feast.
EelowThe hotel room is pretty big by Japan standards, and the feeling of the hotel is really grand! Lots of locals were staying there, but the rooms are a little bit dated. The toilet lights were quite dim and the bathrooms could use an update. However, everything worked perfectly and the stay was still extremely enjoyable!
The hotel is situated right next to a bus stop so that makes things super convenient! There’s also a family mart behind the hotel (shortcut! go out of the main door, turn right, walk down the ramp, immediately turn right and right again into the small path, go up the stairs past the hotel park, then turn left and cross the small roads, and you’ll find the konbini) The hotel also rents out bicycles to hotel guests FOC, so you can take the bike literally anywhere! We rode to the supermarket (~10 mins away) and also down by the river (10/10 recommended!) and just explored lots around!
Gifu is a lovely quiet town and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to experience a side of Japan that isn’t just Tokyo or Osaka.
CCaoyechengqiThis hotel is super convenient, just about 200 meters from Takayama Station. The location is excellent! There's a drugstore right outside and a FamilyMart, and a 7-Eleven just a short walk away. The room was really comfortable, the bed was quite big, and the view from the window was nice. Plus, it even had a washing machine and microwave! The foot bath on the top floor was perfect for a relaxing soak before heading out in the morning. And on the second floor, there's a hot spring bath and a breakfast/dinner buffet. Overall, I was very satisfied.

MM60550****Environment and Service: The hotel is quite large and relatively new, with a big courtyard perfect for a stroll. There's also a shuttle service to and from the station. The only minor drawback is that rooms on one side face the train tracks, which can be a bit noisy, and the soundproofing isn't great.
雲雲尼王A small hot spring hotel. I really feel the hotel's care. Compared to more prosperous areas, I prefer this kind of remote small hotel. I feel that the hotel wants to do every place carefully. Although the price is cheap, there are many details. Everything is well done. For example, there is a self-service snack and drink area in the lobby, which is available 24 hours a day. Yukata for children is also provided. The hotel rooms are very clean. I wonder if they have been renovated, so the rooms are very new and clean.
GGuest UserThe hot spring was lovely and very relaxing, but the food was really mediocre. We had the 'one night, two meals' package, and while dinner had many courses, similar to a Kaiseki meal, the taste was just plain average. The combinations were strange. I'd recommend staying here, but definitely eat elsewhere. As for the claw machines inside, it's impossible to win a doll.
CConstanceThis appears to be a family-run business with warm hearted hospitality. The hosts didn’t speak much English but we managed to use a digital translator to communicate.
Am grateful the hotel provides free shuttle pick up from Hida Osaka Train station. We had to get our previous hotel to ring Senyukan to inform them
about the expected timing of our train arrival. We appreciate the immense patience of the hotel shuttle driver. She put up with 2 changes of timing of our train arrival because of significant delays from the Highway bus from Nagoya to Takayama where we had to connect to Hida Osaka Train station.
We had booked to stay 3 nights and loved every moment of the stay. The kaiseki Hida Beef dinner had the perfect balance of sweet/sour/ salty taste. Each dinner also had a cooked fish either grilled, steamed or poached, in addition to sashimi ( raw seafood). The soup was exquisitely flavourful as was the freshly prepared salad and tempura ( deep fried vegetable fritters). All the food items were plated with pleasing artistry.
We had booked the hotel for its hotsprings which lived up to their therapeutic reputation. Although the sex-segregated pools were for hotel guests,
we found ourselves often the only ones who used them at the time. Highly recommend this hotel for its affordability and wonderful value-added hospitality.
The only downside of the hotel is that the wifi signal is not always stable in the guest rooms. But wifi is more accessible from the hotel lobby.
