Location-wise: It's relatively close to the city center, about 1-1.5km from Shimotori Shopping Street and Kumamoto Castle, making it walkable for a city stroll. It's a bit far from Kumamoto Station, not suitable for walking, but you can take the Kumamoto City Tram A Line to and from the station, which takes about 12 minutes. Based on my personal stay this time, the hotel service was friendly. One of the front desk staff members was very diligent in explaining the check-in process in Chinese, which I really appreciated! The hotel offers self-service toiletries on the first floor. The room was clean and quiet. The Standard Double Room was indeed quite small, but we managed to fit one large and one small suitcase. Two complimentary bottles of mineral water were provided. Breakfast was good and available for purchase.

This was my favorite hotel during my Kyushu trip. It's directly connected to Kumamoto Station and Amu Plaza, making it incredibly convenient for getting around, dining, and shopping. The rooms are spacious, and there's even a triangular chapel in the hotel's inner courtyard. During Christmas, there was a Christmas market in the plaza outside on the first floor, creating a very romantic atmosphere. Breakfast was also excellent. Unfortunately, I visited during a three-day holiday in Japan, so the room rates increased significantly, and I could only stay one night. I'll definitely be back next time!

This hotel in Kumamoto offers great value for money, much more affordable than Fukuoka. It's a new hotel located right in Kumamoto city center, making it an excellent choice. We took the Fukuoka Airport bus to the Kumamoto Bus Terminal, and it was less than a 10-minute walk from there. The hotel is also very close to the shopping street, which we walked through several times a day – super convenient for dining and shopping. **Facilities:** The building is prominent and easy to find. The lobby offers a variety of tea bags, and toiletries are available for self-service. The in-room facilities are relatively new, convenient, and easy to use. **Hygiene:** The room was clean and tidy, and the linens were comfortable. **Environment:** The location is superb, just a short walk to the shopping street and the city's central area. **Service:** The staff were efficient and friendly. The breakfast was quite unique, offering various local horse meat options. The taste was decent, nothing extraordinary. I was particularly impressed by the local transparent soy sauce and even bought some to take home.

Staff were nice, a couple of them speaks English well. Our twin room with sofa bed was adequate. Sofa bed has seen better times n can feel the springs, not for someone who is on heavy side. Location of hotel is good. We love the hair dryer, Refa brand, top notch. Parking cost ¥1000 per night. Just behind is the shopping street and ard 15 mins walk is a big shopping mall, Sakura Machi. Kumamoto Castle can be seen opposite the hotel but if walking is still not so near. We decided to check out of hotel and drove to the castle. There are a few parking lots near to the castle but some need to walk longer.

🛍️ The hotel is conveniently located just behind SAKURA MACHI Kumamoto and is a mere 10-minute walk from the main shopping street. It is also surrounded by tram stations, making travel easy and accessible. 🚙 Although the hotel does not have its own parking lot, it offers discounts at nearby parking facilities. I found it more convenient, however, to park at the lot directly in front of the hotel for 1,400 Yen per night, which is almost the same price as the hotel's discounted options. 🛌 The room size is typical for a Japanese hotel with two twin beds, but the bathroom is slightly larger than average. The only downside is that one of the beds is positioned too close to the window, meaning you'll sleep near the curtain, which is a bit dusty.

Nestled right next to the river, near the village center. Close to the main walking street and attractions. Traditional Ryokan with very good hospitality. Excellent outdoor onsen, with many smaller private onsen in the annex building. Cozy environment, a really good place to relax. The Kaiseki dinner was really good! The curated selections were great in taste, textures and varieties. Best night's sleep in our 7 day tour of Kyushu. Breakfast was good as well, followed by sightseeing around Kurokawa Onsen before checking out. Truly enjoyed our stay here, thanks to their staff. Great people, lovely place.

I took a bus from Fukuoka Airport to Sakuramachi Bus Terminal, which took over two hours, but it was hassle-free. The room was larger than the KOKO hotels I've stayed at before and very clean. I've stayed at KOKO hotels in Kobe and Shinsaibashi and had a great impression, so I chose KOKO again for my trip to Kumamoto. The location is excellent; it's a straight shot from the hotel to Kumamoto Castle and Josaien. There's a department store right below the hotel, and the supermarket on B1 has an incredible variety of products. Across the street is a bustling shopping and dining street, similar to Shinsaibashi. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Kumamoto; it's definitely worth staying here.

This is a fantastic resort! With the dinner and breakfast package, you practically don't need to leave the hotel for meals. The resort offers a wide range of entertainment facilities, including a swimming pool and a mini lazy river. The onsen (hot springs) are also excellent, with each bath providing a different scenic view. It's conveniently located about 1 km (a 15-minute walk) from Aso Station, making it very easy to get to the volcano crater.

This hotel is, without a doubt, the most satisfying I've stayed at during my solo trips to Japan over the past few years! 👍5☆☆☆☆☆ 1. The hotel is conveniently located right next to Kumamoto Station, just a 3-4 minute walk to the left after exiting (Photo 3). The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are large. They provide complimentary bottled water. It's quiet at night. Photos 5 & 6 show the view from room 714. The front desk staff are patient, professional, and attentive. 👍 2. There are many dining options inside the train station, making meals very convenient. 3. There are bus and tram stops right outside the hotel. You can use IC credit cards (UnionPay, VISA) and Alipay directly on all Kumamoto city buses and trams for payment, which is incredibly convenient! We walked to Kumamoto Castle, stopping at Kitaoka Shrine ⛩ along the way. We took Tram Line A back. It's very close to Kumamoto Castle and the city center. 4. The next morning, we headed to Mount Aso. We bought tickets to Aso Station at Kumamoto Station, and there were several train times to choose from. Very convenient! If you're planning a city walk in Kumamoto and a visit to Mount Aso, I highly recommend this hotel.

The onsen was wonderful. This was our third visit, but our first time staying overnight, and we came with our 8-year-old child. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room was traditional Japanese style, complete with tatami mats and authentic decor. There was a separate alcove with a hot water dispenser (thermo pot) for making tea. The windows overlooked the courtyard, offering a beautiful view of maple tree branches. Dinner was a kaiseki meal, served course by course, featuring 9 different dishes – we particularly enjoyed the charcoal-grilled river fish, sashimi, and beef steak. The portions were quite generous. Breakfast was also excellent. The staff were very friendly. A young man who showed us around, upon learning where we were from, mentioned his love for Tchaikovsky and even added a 'thank you'. The hotel also has a souvenir shop on site. Both indoor and outdoor baths are available, offering views of the river and forest.
