Room was large and bed was very comfortable. Bathroom very clean with excellent shower/bath combo. All staff very friendly & helpful with English spoken by many. Good value breakfast offered a huge range of western & Asian options, we preferred to eat out during the day and the mall across the road has some good value restaurants. Location is perfect, very close to station & easy to get anywhere in Kyoto and beyond - for example, day trip to Hiroshima. I forgot to take photos of the room but it was as advertised. The only thing to improve would be adding USB ports for phone charging in the room, otherwise foreign guests will need a plug adaptor. Highly recommend.

This is an excellent place to stay for railway enthusiasts, right next to the Kyoto Railway Museum, with an aquarium and Umekoji Park nearby. Transportation is convenient; it's just one subway stop from Kyoto Station, and you can take a direct subway to Arashiyama from right outside. The room is quite spacious with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. There's a FamilyMart and Starbucks downstairs. The lobby even has a train simulator that kept the kids entertained multiple times. Very satisfied!

Excellent hotel with a fantastic location. The public transport links nearby are great; within a 5-minute walk, you can find subway, private railway, and bus stations. There's also a small and a large supermarket right next door downstairs, plus a convenience store across the street. A really good choice!

Overall, this hotel is pretty good. My only minor complaint is that I wasn't informed about the two breakfast areas upon check-in. I later found out and planned to try the 14th-floor breakfast the next day, only to discover the air conditioning was broken and it was temporarily closed for repairs. It remained closed for two days, which was quite inconvenient.

I stayed at Urban Hotel Kyoto Shijo Premium for two nights and had a really enjoyable experience. The room was very clean and well maintained, and the space was more generous than expected, making the stay comfortable and relaxing. The pricing was very affordable for what was offered, especially considering the excellent facilities available. The public bath was a great way to unwind after a long day of sightseeing, and the gym and washing area were very convenient for travelers. Service from the staff was excellent throughout my stay—friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Overall, this was a fantastic stay and great value for money. I only wish my stay could have been longer, and I definitely hope to return again in the future.

This is a new and clean hotel. The rooms are more spacious than typical Japanese hotels. The staff are lovely and friendly, providing excellent service. It's about 500-600 meters from Gojo Station, but it's a pleasant and quick walk. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Kyoto Station. I will definitely stay here again next time.

I read a few bad reviews and almost missed out on this hotel! Honestly idk what the ppl who left nasty negative comments are talking about because this hotel is heaven!! There’s soothing piano jazz light Xmas music in the background (shows how much tot went into this hotel! Japanese staff are all so polite and understanding even with abit of language barrier(you can use translator app). Room is cozy! Washer for 300yen and dryer 100 yen! Sauna room and bathhouse with shampoo and hair dryer! And breakfast and dinner is provided? Idk what else I can ask for.!!

Conveniently located near the JR Shinkansen line and right next to Don Quijote, this hotel offers rooms that are quite spacious for Japan and excellent value for money. Upon check-in, we also received two complimentary homemade cookies from the hotel. They also offer luggage delivery directly to your room.

The hotel is conveniently located about 70 meters after crossing the road from Exit 3-2 of the subway station, which has an elevator. The room size is quite spacious for Japan. If you walk straight for about a kilometer to the right from the hotel entrance, you'll reach the side entrance of Daimaru Department Store. The breakfast selection is limited and not particularly delicious, but then again, the room rate wasn't very expensive.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay this time. The room was prepared exactly as I requested, which I really appreciated. My room included executive lounge access, offering snacks, drinks, coffee, tea, and alcohol – a great place to sit and relax. The room facilities were meticulously maintained, and all appliances were quiet. My only minor complaint was the hairdryer, which was a bit old-fashioned and took a long time to dry my hair. The hotel staff, including the front desk and shuttle service, were exceptionally professional, very considerate, and provided excellent, personalized service. The shuttle bus stop at Kyoto Station is located behind the station, near the Hachijo East Exit, in the area where taxis and buses pick up passengers. It runs conveniently from 8 AM to 8:30 PM.
