Stayed here for 3 nights and overall had a really positive experience.
The location is super convenient, about a 5-minute walk to both the train station and MTR, which made getting around effortless. There are plenty of convenience stores right nearby.
The hotel has a nice quiet vibe, which was perfect after busy days out exploring. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The room itself was a standout, surprisingly big and spacious by Japanese standards. It was spotlessly clean and tidy, and there was still plenty of floor space even after we opened two large suitcases (something that’s almost impossible in most other compact hotels in Japan).
The only downside was the bedding. The duvet (?) was way too thick and heavy for my liking. It made the bed feel quite hot at night, and I ended up sweating a lot despite the AC.
Otherwise, this place was near perfect. Would definitely recommend it to others, especially if you’re okay with cranking the AC lower. Solid choice!
1) Japanese room is old but thankfully no funny smoke odour etc. decent sized and good for 2 large luggage - they will come and prepare your futon at around 5-530pm.
2) water park is good for kids, with 2 fun slides and some kiddo water slide. The indoor wave pool is big and there’s float and swimwear rental available too (unlike Rusutsu which doesn’t have such options).
3) Dinner was meh - wide selection but taste was alright. The dining buffet area is quite smoky though from the cooking and is quite a turnoff.
4) arcade at B1 is good for entertainment.
5) onsen is awesome. If timed right, you can watch fireworks from the onsen - it has a large sliding glass panel which is open during non-winter period.
6) daily fireworks - awesome
This Onsen hotel provides traditional Ryokan style hotel room 🛌 for “Live Like A Local” differenate experience & is right beside The Hell Valley Onsen @ Noboribetsu Sapporo 🇯🇵.
The room is clean & cosy and hotel breakfast offers a diverse variety of local cuisine, The spa experience but we too shy shy to attempt it. Pity that we arrived late @ night & no chance to try all the facilities & services. Overall, it’s an awesome hotel right @ the best vantage point of this popular Onsen 💦💧 town. Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The hotel provides a shuttle bus pick-up from Sapporo Station (Bus Terminal), but reservations can only be made by phone call. Email requests are not accepted. We arrived on a Sunday, and the bus was already fully packed when leaving Sapporo Station, so it is best to book early.
The hotel itself is a little old, though the public area toilets appear to have been recently renovated. The public onsen pools are large and relaxing, but the stone tile flooring can be slippery from long use, so be careful when walking in the bath area.
The buffet has a good spread of dishes. I especially enjoyed the dinner scallop miso soup, handmade sushi, and desserts. The restaurant was lively and fully packed with both local Japanese families and overseas tourists. One minor downside was the seasonal fruit such as lychee. It would be better if the hotel ensured the fruits were properly washed before serving.
Wi-Fi connection in the hotel is strong and stable unlike the big spa hotel in lake Toya which I just stayed a few days ago.
We had a pleasant stay at InterContinental Sapporo by IHG. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were consistently friendly and professional. The location was convenient for exploring the city, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt calm and welcoming. We would definitely consider staying here again.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Windsor Hotel, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcomed with their warm and attentive service.
The room was beautifully maintained, clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering both comfort and a sense of quiet luxury. Every detail, no matter how small, reflected a high standard of care.
What impressed me most was the overall experience—smooth, relaxing, and truly enjoyable. It’s not just about the facilities, but the people and the atmosphere they create.
In all honesty, I’ve stayed in many well-known hotels around the world, but the level of service here stands out in its own unique way. Windsor Hotel is definitely a place I would return to again

Amazing
TTaidijunThis was my second stay at the Park Hyatt Niseko, and it seems the front desk staff was new this time. They made several mistakes, like sending us to the wrong building and getting our room direction wrong – quite unprofessional. On our third day, breakfast at the Chinese restaurant was poorly arranged; we were seated right next to the cart for collecting dirty dishes, which completely ruined our appetite. Otherwise, it was as excellent as ever! The housekeeping ladies were exceptionally good. After a day out, we returned to find our beloved teddy bear neatly placed on the pillow with a blanket over it – so thoughtful! And the teppanyaki was delicious as always!
GGuest UserThis resort is located on the mountaintop and offers many snow activities. We had a great time playing in the snow in the afternoon! As someone from the south, I've never seen so much thick snow before! The hotel facilities are quite comprehensive, though the food options are limited. We tried the Michelin-starred Teppanyaki, and the service was excellent, and the taste was pretty good! However, the Japanese breakfast was just average.
GGuest UserDai-ichi Takimoto lived up to its reputation! The bathhouse is wonderfully spacious with a great variety of pools, so much so that there's even a recommended bathing sequence – I only discovered it on the steam room's exterior wall on my second day, and it was quite an eye-opener! There are also three charming outdoor pools with beautiful views. The staff were all very attentive. We didn't book dinner, but breakfast was fantastic – a rich selection of high-quality dishes. (Note: there aren't many restaurants on the hot spring street outside, especially in the evening. I'd recommend the ramen shop for lunch and the seafood rice at the onsen market for dinner.)
The twin room in the South Wing was very spacious, the facilities were modern, and the view from the window was lovely. My only gripe is the somewhat impractical layout. Firstly, I'm not sure if it's because of the integrated bathroom unit, but the bathroom itself was tiny and cramped, forcing us to use the main bathhouse in the mornings and evenings. Secondly, the wardrobe was placed in an awkward spot, making it inconvenient to open and access clothes. I genuinely suggest they visit some mid-range hotels in China, like those under the HUAZHU Group's Ji Hotel brand, to see how they ingeniously solve these design challenges.
GGuest UserThis is a historic Japanese onsen hotel. The hot spring water quality is genuinely good, attracting many Japanese families and couples. There are also quite a few Korean families and Western tourists. However, the overall facilities are a bit old, and the flow within the onsen area is quite complex. There aren't many pools, but they are spread across multiple floors with lots of stairs. Walking around like that **in that condition** felt a bit awkward and cold. The open-air onsen on the 16th floor is shared by men and women at different times, so if all family members want to enjoy it, one day definitely isn't enough (see the last picture for the onsen schedule). The 'water world' is fun and great for kids, and soaking in the hot spring after playing there is very relaxing. The dining is just okay, nothing special, as they mainly cater to group tours.
P.S. The scenery in Jozankei is worth exploring, and the nearby ski resort is worth a visit (the kind for playing in the snow). The kids had a blast.
GGuest UserVery comfortable stay for my family!! Room is big, clean and nice, facing nice view, woke up happily everyday. Sufficent space for us to open luggage. breakfast is delicious and large variety as well, front desk and staff are so polite, the only downside is it’s like 8 mins walk from Sapporo station, tho it’s only a straight line walk, not hard to navigate. If I were to go back Hokkaido for trip, will book again!!!
CCatherine Lee SYRusutsu Resort is an excellent choice for families, especially those traveling with children. The resort offers a wide variety of facilities all in one place, making it very convenient and stress-free for family trips. There are indoor and outdoor activities, play areas, ski facilities, and entertainment options suitable for both kids and adults, so everyone can find something to enjoy.
One of the biggest advantages is the location. The resort is very close to a convenience store, which is extremely helpful for families — whether you need snacks, drinks, daily essentials, or quick meals, everything is within easy reach.
There are also many restaurants inside the resort, offering different types of cuisine. However, it’s important to note that several popular restaurants require advance reservations, especially during peak seasons. Planning ahead is highly recommended to avoid long waits or limited dining options.
Overall, Rusutsu Resort is very family-friendly, well-organized, and convenient. With its wide range of facilities, nearby convenience store, and diverse dining choices, it’s a great destination for a comfortable and enjoyable family holiday — just remember to book restaurants early.
よよてぃこThe buffet had a variety of options and was delicious. I was able to eat a lot of crab, which was great. There was a TV in the bathroom in the room. The pool and hot springs were great. If you're afraid of heights, the elevator might be scary... I'll post a photo, even though it's not very photogenic.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is built on a mountain, and trying to walk around was quite tiring.
The room was spacious, but housekeeping doesn't come daily. Currently, all of Japan is embracing eco-friendliness, so most hotels only clean every two nights, and some even every three nights.
Those who sign up for tours or activities will be picked up directly at the hotel. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to the Utoro Bus Center. If you miss the shuttle, I believe the hotel can also arrange a drop-off.
The buffet was extensive, but eating the same things every day got a bit boring. Personally, I still prefer set meals.
I tasted something sour in the chawanmushi. At first, I thought my taste buds were off, but after smelling it, I confirmed it was indeed sour and informed the staff.
The public bath has several pools. The open-air hot spring bath is a bit small, but it wasn't crowded.
GGuest UserFor a weekend 2 day onsen break, this hotel is perfect. Noboreitsu is a small place and the location of this hotel is very good (at the bottom of a hill right next to the bus terminus). The single room itself is small but adequate albeit retro, but the onsen facilities are pretty good and despite the large commercial size of the hotel, the onset is never busy. The breakfast and dinner buffets are decent, but as it barely changes, you will get bored pretty quickly after 2 days. Jikokudani is less than 10 minutes away by foot - if you enjoyed this during the day, it is super-pretty in the evening and the evening walk makes a lovely post-dinner saunter (see photos). You will pass the main shopping street on the way there and back (most shops close at around 9pm). The only downside to the hotel is the sheer number of tour groups that check in/out. 4-6pm and early morning 8-10am are just rammed with tour buses/groups and the hotel lifts are packed as a result.
CC.YapVery convenient location if you are into skii/snowboarding. It’s quite centralized to majority of the slopes and only 30mins drive to Otaru town. Only downside there is no food nearby by the hotel itself has 2 restaurant. The Japanese one was superb, good food with reasonable price, sadly only open few days a week.
