My family and I stayed overnight with breakfast included. We had to extend our stay at short notice, so we looked into the Grand Mercure, which we were interested in, and found that only Japanese-style rooms were available. Our room was a ”traditional” style. (We actually wanted an animal-themed room for kids, but since it was summer vacation, it was fully booked when we looked a while ago.) The newly renovated area was very clean and impressive. There was a pool, outdoor play equipment, and an indoor playground, so we could play there before going to our room, so we arrived early and had plenty of fun. (The pool shower and changing rooms were very small and a bit old-fashioned, which was a shame.) We also used the lounge both in the evening and at night, and my daughter loved it. The bath had a lovely atmosphere, and the relaxing space after the bath, as well as the vinegar drink and amazake (sweet rice drink) were delicious. The breakfast buffet the next morning is reserved at check-in, so it's best to book early to choose the time. (One-hour limit.) The restaurant on the 13th floor has a great view, so the views were spectacular. Most of the guests were families with young children (elementary school age and younger), and there were plenty of kid's chairs and beds available. Reservations are required, so while the tables were full, it wasn't too crowded and we had trouble getting food. (We made our reservation at 9:00 AM.) The menu was satisfying for both adults and children. There are plenty of hotels available, so I recommend arriving with plenty of time to check in. It's located right next to Rindoko Family Farm, so it's also recommended for those staying there.

first of I would like to thanks always trip.com for very nice & convinient bookings everytime,we stay new sakura hotel,because the interior of the hotel is mostly sakura theme,the carpet,the gorgeous chandelier, the wall design,etc.or cherry blossom in Japan,& so very affordable prize,we spend only 18,000 yen for 2 adults,with 2 breakfast & 2 dinner.Very near from kinugawa onsen station,only 3 hrs.from Tokyo.We amazed the room,so very big for the two of us,for very cheap prize,can accomodate even 10 person,the buffet breakfast & dinner also is so good but the most I want to share is the drink all you can alcohol beverages for 1 hour,like beer,japanese wine,sours, all kinds of softhdrinks,I enjoyed for self service alcohol drink all you can!the hotspring also is very good but the cons is take care in the outdoor spring because of the concrete stairs,especially for the elderly when slippery,there's & a little bit far from our room,the young staff also at the counter is nice & most of them are young japanese lady,so very entertaining,so many free amusement like billiard,majong,etc.with a nice sorrounding sightseeng site.& last after check out they give 2000 yen discount coupon for the next visit,Thanks God & trip.com for a nice autumn tour moment in kinugawa onsen Tochigi Perfecture Japan

The name of the hotel is Huaqianxiang, and you need to search for this name on Google Maps. We booked two different suites, both with balconies (equipment platforms), and the river views are good. The hotel breakfast and dinner are great! In addition, remember to make an appointment with the front desk for the shuttle bus after check-out when checking in, otherwise you will face no car to take when you check out. It is an old hot spring hotel. The waiters are polite as a whole. Due to the late check-in, we informed that the dinner was cancelled, but later called the room to say that dinner was prepared and asked to go to the restaurant as soon as possible. Although the restaurant staff urged us to eat, they had a good attitude and kept saying sorry. In fact, this matter was due to our earlier mistakes, so we can't blame the hotel entirely. People also have work off-get off work time, so we also end the dinner at the scheduled time haha. Thank you for the restaurant's service. Overall, it is a recommended hotel to stay in. The area of ​​the ordinary room is not small, and the food and river view are added points. Tips: In short, you have to take advantage of the daytime to go to Kinu River. This was my first time staying at Asaya Hotel, and I booked a valley-side room in the Shuho-kan wing. While the hotel itself felt a bit dated and the room had a slight musty smell, it was impeccably clean, which made for a comfortable stay. There was just one major drawback. The 'valley-side' of the Shuho-kan wing, unbeknownst to me, faces the direction where several well-known abandoned hotels in Kinugawa Onsen are located. When I looked out from the balcony, I was met with the sight of a truly eerie abandoned hotel. To be frank, the view was far from pleasant and quite unsettling. It was genuinely frightening. Even from the onsen windows, those abandoned hotels were clearly visible, making the nights feel particularly eerie and scary. Aside from that, everything else was great; the buffet was thoroughly satisfying, and the service was excellent.

Even if the ingredients are used up due to the buffet, they will not be refilled, and unless you tell them, they will not be added. By the way, it's not the content of the buffet that makes me want to eat more. The correspondence relationship at the front desk is good, but the correspondence relationship between the people at the dining place is not good. The swimming pool is crowded, but it feels good. There is also a dinosaur monument, so I think children can enjoy it. By the way, it is free for children under 12 to sleep together, but there is usually an extra charge.

However, the location is relatively remote and it is inconvenient to take a taxi. Fortunately, the counter staff was very enthusiastic to help call a taxi, and it was included in the pocket list.
