Guest UserThis hotel boasts a fantastic location on a high hill with breathtaking views, tucked away from noisy roads and streets. The staff are wonderful and attentive, and the rooms are perfectly clean and cozy. The view from the terrace is simply stunning!
A special shout-out to the chef – the food is incredibly delicious! We tried the curry, a fish dish, and Kottu, and everything was so tasty with beautiful, restaurant-quality presentation. They even ask and accommodate your spice preferences. The homemade sauces and mango chutney were the best we've ever had anywhere.
The maître d' is super positive – big thumbs up to them! They're so helpful and really brighten your day with their energy and good mood. Being around people like that truly helps you relax and unwind!
There's a pool, fresh towels, and all the main tourist attractions are nearby (Little Adam's Peak, Nine Arch Bridge, waterfalls). We will definitely be back!

這次在斯里蘭卡住過最完美的酒店，值得超五星。
我們訂的行政別墅，樓下一個大床，樓上兩個略小床墊。電動窗簾拉開就是幾乎全景玻璃陽台，可以看到外麪茶山。還能看到三孔橋和路過火車。
mini bar裏面給了幾十包茶包，都是免費，四瓶玻璃瓶水也是免費，酒和飲品收費。
游泳池很好看很出片，像無邊泳池。
一定要選帶晚餐的，晚餐是點菜式五道式，非常可口，也很特別，不含飲料。早餐也有一個很特別的脆皮蛋包，通往餐廳的路上能拍到很美的照片。
唯一就是蚊蟲比較多，整個行程唯一的兩個包就是在這裏晚上睡覺時候被咬的

Keeping in mind this is a 3 star hotel, the positives are the rooms are big with a balcony looking out at amazing views (ours anyway), and the pool is clean and quite big also with amazing views and a concrete elephant water feature!!! The location of the hotel is pretty good too - far enough from other properties to be quiet but close enough to Ella main drag that you can walk in 10-15 minutes or pay a tuk tuk driver double the rate of Colombo to get to and from. The big negative for us was that despite being told upon checking in that the room would be cleaned every day, it was not. And I was told the reason why was that we didn’t hand in our key for it to be done - which seems bizarre after staying in hotels for decades and not being told to or having to hand in a key in order to get a standard daily room clean. The insinuation that it was our fault for not handing in a key (not that we were told to do so on checking in) was extremely irritating. Food was ok but overpriced so we ate elsewhere (lots of options). There were lots of little things in the rooms that could be easily addressed to make them nicer - definitely not having ripped old bath towels, and removing an empty TV bracket from the wall (like a TV used to be there but not anymore - or was it just our room, who knows). All these little things add up to I really think the room rate is too high - but we are here in the high season so maybe that’s just the going rate.

I often asked for sandwiches at 6am, but the front desk didn't inform the kitchen, so I was in a hurry. However, the kitchen staff made them efficiently and prepared a delicious sandwich in 5 minutes. I am grateful. The location is a very narrow and steep slope, so I think it's not good for a big car, but I think that heavy people can't climb it. It's a perfect location because it's a 5-minute walk to the chill restaurant. I definitely recommend getting a room with a view, not the mountain river.

All the staff were very kind and had a great stay.
We had a buffet breakfast and dinner, but none of them were delicious and enjoyed Sri Lankan food.
The hospitality of the hotel was transmitted by the manager at breakfast.
I would like to use it again.

Pros: Quiet and private environment, beautiful scenery, good quality breakfast and room service, good service.
Cons: Arrived around 3pm, and waited for a full hour to check in, almost collapsed. The room has no air conditioning and simple facilities. Open bathroom, don't take a shower at night, it will be cold.

Our recent stay at Mandara Rosen Yala was a genuinely pleasant experience. The hotel's commitment to cleanliness was evident, and the staff were consistently helpful, making our visit thoroughly enjoyable. Breakfast each morning provided a good start to the day, while the dinner buffet was particularly impressive, offering a fabulous spread that was a highlight of our evenings.
The hotel's serene atmosphere allowed us to relax and recharge, which was much appreciated after exploring the local area. We felt welcomed and valued as guests throughout our stay, thanks to the attentive service.
If our travels bring us back to Kataragama, Mandara Rosen Yala will certainly be our hotel of choice once more. It's an establishment that promises comfort and excellent dining experiences.

Guest UserGreat location about 10 min walking from the train station, good staff and the place is clean and tidy. Looks like kind of a chain and that was what I wanted. The room is really small tho and there was no TV. But at least it’s very comfortable and you feel safe. As a solo women traveling I would recommend this place

Guest UserThis is a awesome place for family stay. The staff are super friendly and great service. The resort is 30 mins away for the Ella town, so its secluded from busy traffic or noise. GOOD place to just relax and they have a good spa and sports facilities like mini golf, basketball, squash and tennis court. The gym is wll equipment and the chalet room is superb! Finally the best part is the food.. oh its super yummy and great quality. Spl mention to Dhillon how feed us well and amazing service.
