Hotel Dengan Kolam di Copperbelt, Zambia

Location is superior, convenient transportation, front desk efficient, thoughtful, professional is very good, room lighting is good, bright, quiet, health is very clean, mattress is very comfortable, water fast, good water temperature, fast speed, office convenience, room finishing, strongly recommended

I founded and operate my own non-profit charity from the US, and travel many times to Zambia (and Malawi also), most recently traveling for the first time to Kitwe as we ministered to the vulnerable and orphaned children of Mulenga... having to stay close by, and at a nice hotel for food and accommodations, I chose Garden Court... this was an EXCELLENT decision!!... the stay was perfect!!... from the friendly staff, all around, to a very nice, comfortable, and clean room, to an awesome breakfast buffet and delicious dinner choices, this was absolutely the right choice for me!!... the work we have begun for children in Mulenga has just begun, so I can very confidently say that I will greatly look forward to my next visit and will have my ”home away from home” at Garden Court!!... thank you staff and even acting GM (Mr. Moonga) for welcoming me so well, and look forward to seeing you all again :-))

We’ve stayed at a few Proteas around southern Africa and the Ndola branch definitely ranks among the top. The entire hotel complex has a modern, airy style, with a small but nice pool area at the back. Rooms are spacious with all expected amenites. Being a family of four we had two rooms with an interleading door - perfect for us. Breakfast had pretty much everything you can ask far. Wifi was good throughout the premises. Staff generally kind and helpful. Top notch!

My stay of four nights was fine. The room was large, the bed massive - although they managed to cover most of it with cushions ;) and the mattress was rather soft. The room was very dark due to another building just a few meters away from the large window. Decor throughout the hotel is 'Afro/Oriental bling' and not very comfortable. I tried to work in the evenings, but the chair for the desk was too low, giving me backache. The two chairs in the room were not very comfortable either. The room has a massive walk in wardrobe (with a broken door) Bathroom was large, complete with jacuzzi bath! The first night there was no hot water, but this was fixed when I mentioned it to reception staff. Unfortunately, the jacuzzi bath didn't have a plug that fitted and one couldn't be found by reception staff. In addition, the bath was stained and cracked. There was no where to fix the 'telephone' sic, shower head so one handed showering or leaving the shower at the bottom of the bath was required. It wouldn't suit an older or less mobile person as the bath is VERY high to climb into. Nice to have a fridge in the room, but had to turn it off at night as it was too noisy. A TV was in the room, but no remote and as it is attached to the wall it was not possible to find the buttons and no remote was in the room. I didn't bother asking for one as I don;t watch TV. A working, quiet aircon was a blessing in temps of 35 / 36c. Breakfast was adequate, but limited. However, the room and linen was clean and the staff friendly. A clear example where 'keeping it simple' would have meant this hotel would have had a far better rating from me.
