You can take bus 401E directly from the airport to the hotel, getting off at Komtar station. It takes about 40 minutes. The hotel is about 200 meters from Komtar. It's quite a long walk to the street art area, and it's too hot to walk comfortably. The hotel is considered large for Penang, but the facilities are quite old. The buffet restaurant on the first floor is very average. The 11th-floor pool is decent. The massage parlor is run by a third party. The soundproofing is pretty bad. Several front desk staff members can speak Chinese.
Location is good, right in the centre & within walking distance to eateries & shopping. Close nearby there’s the Hin Depot, it’s like a weekend flea market.
Hotel Service was great, the room that i booked was rather small, city view facing but sun was strong and day time, was abit hot as room window facing the sun. Going green is good, and water dispenser is provided on every floor for our refill. Can i suggest the bottles provided to have a wider opening as when refilling was rather difficult to avoid any spillage, especially taking the hot water

Really satisfied with my trip here. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with a bathtub and even a complimentary bath bomb which made the stay extra relaxing. Love the rooftop pool and the overall modern vibe.
Location is convenient — walking distance to Straits Quay and easy access to Gurney area for food. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
Overall a pleasant experience, will definitely come back again!
Lyf Georgetown is always my go-to, not because of big room, but more like the vibe of the hotel. I love the communal vibes. It may not has the biggest room, but the amenities and concierge and the team is amazingly good!
Location : This location is very superb. The seaview was astonishing. Food stalls are everywhere nearby.
Services : Arrived late night to check in. The receptionist is not that helpful and not explaining much. Got some issues with breakfast where my room suddenly not breakfast included while we paid together for it when booking. Try to explain to the Indian F&B manager but at first he refuse to trust me and ask me to go to lobby. Thanks to Mr Vincent he sincerely apologise for the misunderstanding from the system. To the Indian F&B manager, you need to learn to apologise sincerely from Mr Vincent and learn some manners as I heard you talk bad about other customers as well.
Food : Not much choice but the food was good.
Overall, will be coming back in the future and I wish the services will be a lot better. TQ
The front desk was alright; they gave me the highest floor when I asked for a quiet room. But the room itself felt really damp! Luckily, it was sunny the next day, so I took the duvet outside to air it out. The hallways in the hotel also had a damp, musty smell. The cleaning service on the second day of my stay was unbelievably bad – they missed so many spots, it's hard to even describe! The view outside the hotel was nice, but the hotel itself is in a remote location. A taxi to the city costs 60-80 yuan, and even to the beach, which is only 2-3 kilometers away, it's 40 yuan for a taxi – ridiculous! Once we got familiar with the area, we just used public transport.
Location is just 3min walk from a Duck meat Koay Teow Teng where locals go. 15min walk from New Lane food street for dinner and lots of TSP stores that locals go to within a radius of 5 min walk. Despite near to all these nice shops, it is quiet enough to rest. The counter staff are also friendly, especially Amirul. Despite putting on mask, Amirul lots of warmth and hospitality. Truly enjoyed the stay at this hotel.
Booking process was quite smooth and easy.

But I believe it is an office modified to become a room to stay. Therefore it was very quiet outside of office hours. I found it awkward as it did not represent the vibe either an apartment or hotel.
Honestly this hotel was unexpectedly good!! The room was extremely clean (really love that super clean smell when you walk into your room 😂) Their housekeeping team did a great job too - I’ve requested daily house keeping & they cleaned the room, changed the towels every day without fail! There’s also a complimentary snacks near the lift which they replenish it every day. When I requested for a steam iron, they sent it over immediately as well! - very responsive, very impressive!
One of the highlights was the cute cats around the property - super manja super friendly, which made the stay even more enjoyable!! It’s a great choice for people who love cats!! You’ll see them everywhere LOL
The sandwich bar is amazing too - Can try their signature Reuben & smoke duck cheese toast, it’s very nice!!
Location wise I think it’s very strategic. It’s walkable to the famous Chowrasta Market for breakfast, chendol, and many more. Taking Grab around was also very convenient - not expensive. One more plus point when you stay here, you can visit the massage centre right beside the hotel - pretty good with reasonable price (it’s not the very atas kind but was quite decent & just have to book in advance to secure your slot)
I think the only minor downside would be some background noise from the bar across the street at night. You can hear faint clubbing music, but it wasn’t too loud or disruptive & it didn’t affect our stay much.
All in all, it’s a good one! Will definitely come back again!!
This was my favorite hotel during my trip to Malaysia, and where I slept the best. The hotel is probably about 6 kilometers from the Penang city center, a 20+ minute drive one way, so the location is a bit out of the way. However, it's very quiet and has a private beach, a pool, and a gym. The bed was also super comfortable. The only downside is that there aren't many dining options nearby, so you'll definitely need to take a taxi or drive out to eat.
