On checking in, the reception staff member asked me to pay for my stay (obviously I'd already prepaid on trip.com). When I pointed this out, she became quite rude.
We were put in the room right next to the office, and we could hear the staff chatting at all hours. The noise in the corridor from other guests woke us up several times during the night (despite the ”Quiet” signage). There was a fire alarm at 6am the next morning. Everyone had to evacuate for a good 45 mins in the rain while we waited for the fire brigade...not even an offer of a free breakfast or coffee or anything afterwards.
There's no air con in the rooms, they're really small, the bathroom is tiny and there's not a lot of room to put your stuff. The à la carte restaurant is overpriced and the food was under/overcooked (how can you not know how to cook a potato?). Personally I'd not recommend this hotel when there's a Premier Inn in town..."

Guest UserThe hotel is located in the most bustling town in the Lake District, with plenty of shops and businesses. It's about a 5-6 minute walk to the lakeside pier. I booked a king room and a quad room. The quad room was in the building with the spa, and there was a bar downstairs. It felt a bit cramped for four people, and the bathroom was extremely small, plus there was only one. The king room in the main building where you check in was quite good. We stayed for two nights, and the breakfast was excellent with a good variety of fruits, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely time.

Guest UserUpon arrival there was nobody at the front desk so I waited. The woman I was somewhat greated by was far from pleasant and didn’t seem like she wanted to be there at all. Nothing was explained and no information leaflet for me to read through in my own time. When given my room key I started walking through the lobby but couldn’t see any signs for my room number. Went back to the desk to ask where to go for my room and was told ‘just follow it round’.
Very unhelpful and unwelcoming, not sure this lady should be at the face of the hotel.
Plus side, room was beautiful and well kept/clean. I was also lake side so got to watch the sunrise with my morning cuppa. Very refreshing views.

The Lake District is home to many beautiful B&Bs, and ours is one of them. The room even comes with cotton swabs and pads, as well as a glass jewelry box. Breakfast, ordered a day in advance, is prepared by the owner himself and is both exquisite and hearty.
The only downside was that it was a bit hot during our two nights there, and there was no air conditioning. There might be a fan, but we couldn't find one...

DanjuanleeThe hotel is located directly across from Lake Windermere, nestled on a hillside. There are many small rabbits hopping around, and flocks of sheep peacefully grazing on the grassy slopes next to the hotel. You can also find plenty of blackberries in the nearby fields, which are quite tasty. The external environment is absolutely beautiful, with lots of lavender and other flowers in the hotel's courtyard, where plump bees busily fly around collecting nectar.
On the hillside overlooking the road, there are several swings facing Lake Windermere for guests to enjoy, offering panoramic views of the lake just across the way. Next to the swings, there are a few apple trees bearing fruit. Lazily swinging here makes you feel like the whole world slows down.
Our room, the Hazel room, was quite spacious, featuring a large bed (I'm not sure if it was two single beds pushed together or one with two mattresses) and a sofa bed. The bathroom was also very large, with both a shower and a bathtub. There aren't many restaurants near the hotel, but fortunately, the hotel's restaurant is decent, and the prices are comparable to other establishments. For public transport, you're reliant on buses, which aren't very frequent. We initially wanted to go to the town and the Lake District National Park, but as it was already afternoon and we missed a bus, we decided to give up. Instead, we explored the area around the hotel and enjoyed some slow time on the swings, which was also a great experience.

The hotel seems still under renovation. Flies were flying around in the room and could not sleep well at night. Towel heating rack in the toilet is partially rusty. SPA facilities has not been used, but seems not bad. Suggest to extend the closing time till 8 PM or 9PM to facilitate visitors after the sightseeing around Lake District.

Guest UserThe hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right on the lake with unbeatable views. The hotel itself has great character and is exceptionally well-maintained and clean, exceeding expectations. Breakfast was also good, though it's à la carte. From the hotel, it's just a few minutes walk to the lakeside, shopping areas, and dining districts.

It happened to be a wedding when I went there. The lobby was full of enthusiastic and cheerful foreigners. There was a dog on duty at the front desk, and it was very well behaved. If you bring children, you need to pay an additional 30 yuan per dog. This, uh... it would be good without this fee. The free buffet breakfast on the second day was good. After ordering coffee, the waiter brought it. There was self-service milk and drinking water in the corridor. Parking is free, and the parking lot is quite large. Basically, you don’t have to worry about having no place, because even if the wedding was full of people the day before, there are still a few parking spaces. Although it is gloomy, rainy, windy and snowy every day in the UK, we saw the long-lost starry sky here.

The Grange hotel was lovely and redecorated. The breakfast was lovely and surrounding areas nice. Having the train station on your door step was brilliant as we took a trip to Lancaster. My only negative is that the bar prices are expensive £15 for a large glass of wine and the spa needed updating. The tiles were patched up, the jacuzzi was cold and foamy and smelt. Otherwise it was a good overall experience and we would go back.
