Hotel Dengan spa di Bukhara Region, Uzbekistan

I decided to stay at Dunyo Palace as it had a swimming pool and was great value for money. Getting to Dunyo Palace was very easy on public transport as I caught bus no 33 from the centre of Bukhara straight to the outside of the hotel. It was easy. I have stayed at Dunyo palace before and I had a great stay. My room was bigger than expected with a fridge, air conditioning and a kettle. I was greeted by the nice reception lady she was very helpful. I had breakfast and it was a buffet with a large selection of Uzbekistan breakfast foods. An omelette was freshly prepared for me in the mornings. The hotel pool was really nice to swim in after a long day walking around sight seeing in Bukhara. I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel and I will stay again in the future. The images I share are of the room I stayed in on my departure, the air conditioning, and the bathroom area. The hotel is located north of Bukhara's Old City, with most attractions within walking distance. The Saffron Restaurant on the 3rd floor serves excellent food, especially the fried eggplant. However, the spa service was absolutely unacceptable. The therapist had an awful attitude and poor technique. Anytime we moved or were too tense during the massage, she would reprimand us with incredibly exaggerated, disgusted exclamations, completely ruining our day. On top of that, it didn't even provide the relaxation we sought. What's more, the time spent changing clothes was counted towards the massage duration, which would never happen in China. After writing a two-page complaint letter, the hotel offered a fruit platter as compensation and provided a written response stating that ”other guests in our tour group” were satisfied, implying the problem was ours. Yet, we were independent travelers who checked in alone, so the mention of a tour group was completely fabricated. Naturally, this was unacceptable. After a 30-minute standoff at the front desk, the final solution was a 30% discount, but then the fruit platter was withdrawn. As an incredibly arrogant hotel, I do not recommend staying here. They didn't even replenish toothpaste during daily cleanings. However, the rooftop restaurant is still recommended, with an average cost of around 200 CNY per person.

There are some low-rated posts, but it was a very good impression hotel without any trouble when I used it for two nights in 2026/10/4-6 and three family members on a trip. Breakfast is also delicious. It is a little far from the old town, but it is a location that is completely fine as a walk after meals because it is about 500 meters. There were many hotels in the old town, but this hotel is quite recommended if you want to spend a quiet night slowly because people gather around 〜 night. I think it is good to use it when coming to Bukhara.

I stayed here for 3 nights on a solo trip. On my last day, my train schedule suddenly changed, departing an hour earlier. Even though it was early in the morning, I requested a transfer from the hotel to the train station. The staff member who checked me in was incredibly kind and helpful; despite my limited English, she made a great effort to understand me, and I really appreciated her hospitality. The driver who took me to the station was also very safe, and I was so grateful for the early morning ride. The breakfast was delicious too. The hotel had minimal amenities, so bringing your own toothbrush set is a must. Also, there was a distinctive scent throughout the hotel, but I got used to it after a few days. The shower had a slight sewage smell, but only when first turned on. I really enjoyed listening to the beautiful violin performances every evening, and being able to watch YouTube in my room was a nice touch.

The front desk mistakenly gave me a king room. Seeing that twin rooms were still available for sale on Trip.com, I immediately asked to switch rooms. After a flurry of chaotic efforts, the staff took me to a king suite and said I could upgrade, but for an extra charge. Excuse me? I booked a twin room, to begin with. Trip.com intervened to coordinate, but the issue wasn't resolved on the spot. I wonder what the criteria are for being a ”Chinese-friendly hotel”? The front desk's Mandarin wasn't great, and their English was poor too. Being a new hotel, they definitely need more staff training. The room smelled of fresh paint, the soundproofing was terrible, and the hot water wasn't very reliable late at night. On the positive side, the room was quite spacious and the bed was okay.

The location on a busy street means there's occasional road noise, though it's not too loud with the window closed. You can walk to the main attractions from here. There's an on-site cafe where you can order room service and breakfast is served in the mornings. The service is excellent, and while the room furniture might be a bit dated, it could also be part of the room's theme. I would have liked faster internet. 🙏🫶

The hotel is located a bit far from the city center, but a taxi ride is only about 100 rubles. The rooms are spacious, and the service is excellent. Breakfasts are European style with several tasty options. There's a gym (a suggestion: please add dumbbells lighter than 14 kg) and a sauna and a hammam. The pool is small, about 2x2 meters. Overall, I really liked everything.

Overall, it was decent. The hotel is quite new, but the main drawback is that the room is a bit small. I've stayed further from the city center before and gotten larger rooms. Here, besides the bed, there's not much space left. There's an ATM on the ground floor, and the breakfast is excellent, a mix of Western and Uzbek styles, with strawberries which was a nice touch. It's easy to get a taxi, and it's not far from the old city, about 10 kilometers. Across from the hotel, there's a place that sells baked samsa, and about a kilometer away there are restaurants where you can order takeout.

About 500 meters from the old town, you will pass through a very dirty construction site. Next to Wyndham. The facilities are very poor. The shower water can only be turned on hot, otherwise it is cold and hot. The network is very slow. The sound insulation is very poor. There are people partying at 2 o'clock in the morning. The front desk service is very good. They helped me call a taxi several times. Every time I called a taxi, the location here seemed to be inaccurate. The breakfast was not very good, there was no milk.

The room itself was okay, and the location was decent, fairly close to the center. The floor was dirty (I was the only one there, so it should have been clean). They gave me a towel, but no bedding (the blanket and pillow were very dirty). I asked for a set and they only gave me a sheet. The shower and toilet had an unpleasant odor. The staff speaks Russian and some English. With such cleanliness, the high price is unjustifiable (I'm not even talking about repairs, which cost money, but maintaining cleanliness and at least providing liquid soap in the toilet is not that difficult). I've stayed in dozens of hostels around the world, and this is the worst.
