Upon arrival, check-in at reception was smooth. We were provided with our room key and directed to our accommodation, which required us to drive to the other side of the estate. However, when we reached the room, the key did not work. We walked back to reception, where we were informed that a network issue had prevented the key from being properly programmed. The receptionist, who was very helpful, offered to accompany us to the room and opened it using a master key. She assured us that a functioning key would be delivered as soon as the network was restored. Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed that it had not been cleaned. The window sill was sticky with what appeared to be beverage spills, the floor was dirty, the bathroom mats were not fresh, and most concerning, there were rat droppings on the window sill, on the floor behind the curtains, and behind the door. I contacted reception to request housekeeping and asked to speak with a manager, as the condition of the room was unacceptable. A housekeeping staff member arrived, but I requested that cleaning not proceed until the housekeeping manager assessed the situation. The manager quickly confirmed that the room had indeed not been cleaned and that there were clear signs of rodent activity. She apologised sincerely, asked us to wait while the room was cleaned, and said she would escalate the matter to the rooms division. While waiting on the terrace outside, we noticed a mouse in the bushes, which explained the droppings found inside. After the room was cleaned, the manager returned, apologised again, and informed us that a complimentary bottle of wine had been arranged for us. We told her about the mouse we had seen and expressed that we did not feel comfortable staying in that room. She went back to speak with the rooms division, and we waited in the bar. An hour later, she returned with keys to a new room and directed us there. The replacement room was clean, though the entire experience made for a rocky start to our stay. The following day, after breakfast, we returned to our room to find that the terrace doors had been removed and two maintenance staff were working. This came as an unexpected surprise, as no one had informed us that repairs would be taking place. We decided to return to the bar to allow the work to be completed. As we were celebrating a birthday that day, the housekeeping manager kindly arranged for our room to be decorated with a birthday message. From that point onward, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks to the exceptional customer service at the restaurants, bars, and spa. In particular, we would like to recognise Moses, Regal, and Tebogo at Kingsley Restaurant; Sibongile at Granatas; and Mandy at the spa for their outstanding hospitality. They truly made our stay memorable. Overall, despite the challenges we experienced upon arrival, we had a lovely stay. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making my mother’s birthday special.

Great hotel! We were very well received by the staff, and the check-in and check-out process was super fast. The main highlight is the free round-trip airport shuttle. For those looking for practicality and who don't want to worry about transportation, it's the perfect choice. I highly recommend it!

I had an outstanding stay at The Catalyst Hotel in Sandton. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and effortless. The rooms are modern, stylish, and impeccably clean, with comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities that made it easy to relax after a long day. The attention to detail throughout the hotel is impressive, creating a luxurious yet comfortable atmosphere. One of the biggest highlights is the hotel’s excellent location. It’s conveniently situated close to Sandton City, Nelson Mandela Square, and the Gautrain, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travellers. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, and every meal I had at the restaurant was of excellent quality. The facilities, including the gym, pool, and spa, are well maintained and add tremendous value to the overall experience. What truly sets The Catalyst apart is the exceptional customer service. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable, always greeting guests with a smile and a willingness to help. If you’re looking for a modern, comfortable, and well-located hotel in Johannesburg, I highly recommend The Catalyst Hotel. Hotel is rated at 5star but the amenities are quite average. The standard king size room is smaller than I have experience in some other hotels if that range. You do not find water glasses in the room. Room service is very slow and sometimes your call will just keep transferring between room service and reception if you needed something. If you ordered food in your room, you have to make payment immediately. It does not amount up to check out. There is only one restaurant, one cafe in the hotel. You can walk up to nearest restaurant for your food that is 800m away.Pool is there but you have to carry your own towel. The day we arrived, there was a birthday party around the pool with loud music. We avoided going to pool side. Shoe shiner is in the lobby and if you get your shoes cleaned he needs to be paid as compliment and that complement begins with 100rand minimum. To me it’s an average hotel and ok for a couple of days. It had some conference going on so extra crowd was also in the lobby for the two days we stayed If you are looking for a luxery experience, better choose another hotel. This hotel is ok for not more than two days of stay.

After a long day I was getting ready to have a hot bubble bath only to find out that there was no hot water. The maintenance staff came to check and casually told me to wait 40 minutes for the water to heat up. It was so late and I was so tired. We ended up having to move to a different room with hot water, only to find out later that night that there were monkeys on the roof making so much noise throughout the night and there was very loud music going into the night from a neighboring property. Safe to say we didn't get much sleep. Not to mention the food we ordered from the restaurant was horrible, the fish was not fresh and the chips were undercooked. The salad was also terrible. We didn't even bother to stay for breakfast after it had taken more than an hour to get someone to fix the broken hair dryer and deliver my pillow which I had left in the previous room. The staff clearly do not care. Our spa treatments were also not that great. I'm quite disappointed as I've heard such good things about this place and I won't be returning. The location is great but for the price I don't think its worth it.

The rooms are clean, modern, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. The hotel’s location is perfect, with easy access to nearby shopping areas, restaurants, and key attractions, which makes it very convenient whether you're visiting for business or leisure. The food is another highlight — fresh, delicious, and with a great variety to suit different tastes. The overall environment is peaceful yet vibrant, giving you the best of both comfort and energy. What really stands out is the attention to detail and the consistent quality of service. Everything feels well-managed and thoughtfully designed to ensure a pleasant experience. Overall, Southern Sun Rosebank delivers an excellent stay and is definitely a place worth visiting again.

This hotel is was definitely one of my favorite stays. I made my booking around 7pm for a stay later that same night, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process. The rooms are impeccably clean and wonderfully spacious, easily ranking among the best hotel accommodations I've experienced during my visits to Johannesburg. The attention to detail and commitment to guest comfort is evident in every aspect of this wonderful establishment. From the warm welcome at the front desk to the well-appointed, comfortable rooms, this hotel has exceeded my expectations and solidified its position as one of my top preferred places to stay in the city. Although bathrooms may need a bit of an upgrade, I am confident that I will be returning to this hotel on my future visits to Johannesburg.

I had a wonderful stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton. The hotel was clean, modern, and well-maintained. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to assist. My room was comfortable, spacious, and equipped with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The location is excellent, with easy access to Sandton City, Nelson Mandela Square, and other nearby attractions. The breakfast offered a great variety of food, and the overall service exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel to both business and leisure travelers and would gladly stay here again on my next visit to Johannesbur
