I love this place so much that a part of me wants to gatekeep this hidden gem. Fanzhu梵住 is a beautifully curated boutique hotel that delivers outstanding hospitality. I initially booked a 5-day stay but loved it so much that I extended for an extra day, willingly sacrificing my next destination. I was initially worried the hotel might be a ”pretty façade.” Fortunately, Fanzhu met all my needs of functionality and comfort (Breakfast, Air Conditioning, an excellent shower, free self-service laundry, an ideal location). The property is far from perfection, but it overcompensates with simple, heartfelt sincerity. You can feel the tremendous thought and effort poured into this place to make guests feel comfortable. ✨ Highlights, Who Will Love This Place: ✅#English-Speaking Travellers: For foreigners unfamiliar with China, it is extremely helpful that the owner is fluent in English. ✅#Design & Aesthetics: Warm & modern. The property exudes zen-like comfort with charming decors. It has a gorgeous yard, with swimming pool, and ample outdoor seatings. ✅#Remote workers: I didn’t plan to work on this trip, but I could see myself working there remotely. If you come from the city where every building looks like a boxy Lego piece, you will deeply appreciate this place. ✅#Personalized Service: Kudos to the young lady boss! In a place like Wanfenglin where the location pins and 导航 can be vague to foreigners, sh took the time to understand my itinerary, how I planned my routes around Wanfenglin. She gave recommendations, and helped me check my “Destination” input on car hiring app. Airport and railway station pickups can also be arranged easily too. ✅#Immaculate Rooms: THE BED! Oh my, the bed! The linens, pillows, and towels are all premium quality. Even the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash feel luxurious. The bed is so comfortable that I would return just for a sleep-in holiday. Ok I know I’m mentioning the bed twice but it’s worth mentioning thrice. Extra points from me that the rooms are non-smoking. ✅#Location: Before arriving, I read a review describing this place as ”a piece of tranquillity close to the action”. Now I get it. It sits as an independent building on a peaceful road/hill(?), yet it is a short, easy walk to the Bagua fields and Zhong Nahui, where you can find idyllic cafes, little shops, and children playing in the fields. ✅#Breakfast: Delicious local-flavoured noodles!They also offer more conservative standards like toasts, eggs, and coffee. Oh, the hotel has an ice machine! Ooooohh so sexy in the hot weather (apparently ice cubes are rare in Wanfenglin). ✅#The Resident Pets: As a pet lover who willingly pays to visit cat cafes, having resident dog and cats sealed the deal for me. ✅#BONUS TIP: The Rooftop Night Sky. Unassuming and rugged at first glance, I was initially unimpressed. But I heard good reviews from others, so I gave it another go, and am thankful I did! Stay awhile, allow your eyes some time to adjust in the darkness, and you would see the sky completely transforms. On my last night, I saw a shooting star! I kid you not. It was an absolutely unbelievable, unforgettable moment. Incredibly awesome! ⚠️ Considerations Before You Book (Who should avoid): - If you love standard chain hotels. Fanzhu is intimate enough to offer personalized service. But I can imagine some of my more pampered friends who prefer international breakfast buffet spread would struggle to settle for this simplicity. Some things are just not realistic expectations off a boutique. - Mobility needs: There is no elevator. They would graciously carry your suitcases. However, elderly may want to enquire about ground-floor room. - In the midst of nature: If you have zero tolerance for insects, you may want to skip staying in Wanfenglin. It is a humid, lush environment surrounded by fields and trees. Personally, with a body spray of insect repellent, I wasn't bothered at all. - Pet allergies: If you hate pets (but why would you? :( w

Me and my girlfriend got picked up at Congjiang train station which was very convenient. Right from the start the owners of the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The accomodation is located at the back of the village next to a field where they grow rapeseed flowers and rice during the year. For us the location was perfect as it is very peaceful and quiet but simultaneously litterally a few steps away from the beautiful vibrant little village. The room was very spacious and clean with a gorgeous view on the field. The interior is very well matched and has great facilities. There was even a small laundry machine so we could do some laundry ourselves. So far during our travels in China, this stay was the best we had! There is a very stylish and cute coffee/restaurant located on the first floor of the building. This is also where you will have a delicious breakfast and where Ni Li and her sister will greet you with a smile every time you walk by. Ni Li, her husband Tao Mingqing, her sister and brother played a crucial part during our stay as after the first night my wife got very sick due to an infection and barely left the room during our stay. The second night I got foodpoisoning which made the situation even worse. (Not from the hotel!). We ended up extending our stay due to her condition. Luckily Li's English is very good so that helped us a lot in navigating the medical difficulties. We were extremely lucky to be staying with Li and her family as they took care of us like we were their own family. Preparing custom meals and dinner tailored to our needs every single day, preparing us tea, calling the local doctors and translating and taking us to the local hospital back and forth multiple times. We were there during the Qingming festival so no cars were allowed in the village which made it more difficult to reach the hospital. This didn't stop Tao Mingqing as he took us to the local hospital several times on the motorbike, one by one! The last time I even forgot a bag and he even went back to get it for me! He truly is a legend. Fortunately, my recovery was fairly quickly so I had the chance to explore the village a little by myself and spend time with Li and Ming while staying close to the room for my girlfriend. On day 4 my girlfriend's fever was coming down and she improved a little. Li and Ming invited us to have tea with them. Ming showed me his vast collection of tea and made sure to prepare the best tea suitable for our condition. The tea was truly amazing and he ended up filling a big bag with different kinds of teas as a gift for us! And that was not it, to make sure we would never forget them and drink tea mindfully the Chinese way when we're back home, they gave us the tea cups we used traditionally decorated with the blue dragon and phoenix. It was a very stressful situation and when we felt at our most fragile, they were there to take care of us, strangers they just met. This says everything about these wonderful people. Even though the illness of my girlfriend and the rough situation, we think back to our stay with a very warm hearth as our special experience forged a bond we'll never forget. We are incredibly lucky to have met Li and her family. We have said thank you to them 100s of times already, but I can't express enough how grateful I am for this people. Thank you for taking care of us like your family!!! ＜3 If you are unsure about staying here, there is truly no reason why you shouldn't! Whatever the situation, Li and her family will do everything they can to improve your stay. I'm sure you'll have a blast!

The location is fantastic, super convenient for getting anywhere, whether it's the observation deck or the heart of the commercial street. Every room offers a prime view of the Miao Village. There are plenty of great restaurants and trendy cafes nearby. It's only a minute or two from Maiyi Cafe, and the rooftop is amazing for photos! They've even set up a trendy bed and a 'climbing on the roof' photo spot. It's really great to rent an outfit and take pictures here. The views are unobstructed. The facilities are excellent too; even the speakers are Marshall. The afternoon tea is delicious, and the cafe at the front desk is also very picturesque. The concierge staff are very attentive. The pickup and drop-off service from the concierge staff was especially appreciated, reducing 90% of travel fatigue! I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Overall, the hotel is quite good. The service is excellent, parking is convenient, and the location is very accessible. It's only a 5-minute walk to Terminal 3 of the airport, and also a 5-minute walk to the Hi-Car and Shenzhou Car Rental branches. There's a small supermarket and dining options right next to the hotel. The hotel breakfast is outstanding, and the service is great. On my last day, I had an early flight, and the front desk prepared a sandwich breakfast for me in advance, which was absolutely delicious. I booked a room with breakfast for two, and it cost a little over 500 RMB per night. Personally, I think the price is a bit high; it would be perfect if it were around 400 RMB!

The room was nice. Service: Very good, they even helped prepare simple food for my child, which was very convenient when traveling with kids. Environment: Excellent. The housekeeper was great, they upgraded us to a family room for free. They also helped with our luggage and were quick to respond to any issues. There are toys like water guns available for kids to borrow and play with at Xiaoqikong Scenic Area. They also have a dryer and laundry room. Breakfast was light and tasty. My child loved the wooden rocking horse. There's also chess, a tea room, and a guqin or guzheng (I'm not sure which, but it was nice). The light wood decor gives a very comfortable feel.

Of all the hotels I've stayed at during my trip to Guizhou, this one was by far the best experience. Not only are the facilities great, but the service is excellent too. Plus, the hotel has a water play area downstairs, which is perfect for families traveling with kids in the summer. Highly recommended and definitely worth it!

The best accommodation recommendation in Zhijin County, Zhijin Hotel, lives up to its reputation. Driving in feels like entering a garden-style park, and the lobby is even more magnificent. The service here is excellent, and the room facilities don't look old at all. A large balcony is a highlight. The breakfast service is also very good, and in the afternoon, there's an artist performing the erhu in the lobby, which truly suits Zhijin Hotel. The outdoor pool at Zhijin Hotel is large, and the children had a lot of fun. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at Zhijin Hotel.

Staying at this guesthouse in Qianhu Miao Village was an absolutely delightful experience. The location is superb, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the village and finding local specialty dishes. The front desk and guesthouse staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, promptly addressing any needs and showing great patience and care. The daily complimentary fruit platter was a highlight—diverse, fresh, and deliciously sweet. Our room was spotless and well-organized, feeling spacious and bright. All facilities were well-maintained, ensuring a very comfortable stay. Every aspect exceeded our expectations; the attention to detail was truly impressive, and it offered excellent value for money. It's perfect whether you're looking for a relaxing getaway or a short trip. I'll definitely choose this place again when I return to Qianhu Miao Village.

To this day, the hotel has not offered a solution. They only called me on a landline to ask if I was feeling better. On the day of check-in, the linens were fine. The next day, when we extended our stay, we asked for a sheet change. Around 10 PM, after getting ready for bed, I rested on the bed for about half an hour and developed a small patch of red bumps. I immediately contacted the front desk. Later, a female duty manager proactively contacted me. She didn't come to inspect the linens but directly asked if I had any requests to make. By 8 AM the next morning, both of my legs were covered in an allergic reaction. I contacted the front desk again, and a male manager came. He didn't proactively offer to move us to a different room. Even after we checked out – because my child also had a fever – we left around 3 PM. Apparently, the hotel's linens are laundered by a third party. As a result, they still haven't provided a solution to this day, saying they need to report it to their superiors. The last duty supervisor who called us just asked if the leg allergy had disappeared. The worst part of this trip was staying at a hotel that carries a five-star brand, only to have issues arise and receive continuous calls without any proposed solutions. I hope everyone avoids this place.

A truly perfect stay! The hotel is located within the scenic area, offering beautiful surroundings and an incredible view. Our room was spotless, thoughtfully laid out, and the bed was so comfortable and relaxing. The staff were very helpful with our luggage, and incredibly warm and patient. Breakfast was served in an area with a fantastic view, and we even had afternoon tea provided – every detail showed how much they cared. The facilities were excellent, and it was lovely to just wander around the hotel grounds in our downtime. It really added a lot of wonderful memories to our trip. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back for our next vacation!
