thewandercuratorWe had an enjoyable 1 night stay in the newly renovated boutique wing, which we requested for. The hotel was in the midst of transformation so we expected hiccups but there were none. Our room was compact but newly furnished with a very comfy bed and stylish amenities like a large Samsung TV, coffee machine, Marshall speakers and L'Occitane toiletries. We were hoping for a city/fjord view instead of the hill fortifications out back. Still, we enjoyed the new hotel facade, plush lobby cocktail lounge vibes and ease of free parking out front. Breakfast requires one to walk out to the next building annex but the hall had roomy seating and plenty of options for a nice Scandi breakfast. The airport is a 5-min drive away, the city centre and waterfront all 5 minutes away on foot. A nicely updated base for Akureykri and North Iceland.

The room was spacious and clean, with excellent hygiene. The view from the window was beautiful, offering sights of the sunrise and numerous small volcanic craters. Check-in and parking were convenient. The front desk even asked if we'd like to be notified about the Northern Lights, which was a very thoughtful touch. That evening, I managed to capture many photos of the aurora. We heard there's a free hot spring, but we weren't aware of it and missed out. Breakfast was plentiful.

My wife and I booked a double room in this hotel, full of rooms, and the door of the room is already using electronic locks!
The first floor is the restaurant, check in is also at the restaurant counter, check in with a free drink from the restaurant. The kitchen has a simple microwave and a kettle to use.
The bathroom is in the basement, and it will definitely pass the restaurant on the first floor. It feels a bit strange, and men may still go wrong into the women's bathroom. This part is a bit strange in the design of the compartment.
There is a bar behind the hotel, which will be very noisy before snoring at night. Even if the soundproof airtight window is closed, it is quite loud; and the door bow buffer of the restaurant door on the first floor of the hotel is not enough, and the closing will affect the upstairs!

Tumpy TumTumVery cute design hotel with a cozy atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and lovely details throughout the property. I especially loved the lounge and game room area — I ended up spending almost three hours working on a puzzle there and hope someone finishes it after me! The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.
I didn’t try the hot tub though, as it is located in the middle of the hotel and felt a bit too exposed since people can easily look at you from around the property.

The room was spacious and well-equipped, with the heated towel rack being particularly noteworthy. It snowed on the day we checked in, and our clothes were completely soaked—the heated towel rack was very helpful for drying smaller items. The breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of options, which suited our tastes perfectly. This hotel offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended.

숙소는 후사비크의 항구 바로 앞에 있으며 고즈넉하고 조용한 곳에 있습니다. 우리가 도착했을 당시 호텔은 무인으로 운영되었지만 안내데스크에 우리를 위한 메시지와 더불어 열쇠가 준비되어 있어 바로 방으로 들어갈 수 있었어요. 방은 따뜻했으며 침대와 작은 테이블, 옷장이 존재하는 심플한 구조 입니다. 음료나 스키르를 보관할 조그마한 냉장고가 있었더라면 더욱 좋았겠지만 겨울이라 사실 크게 상관 없었습니다.
조그마한 문제는 함께 묶은 다른 객실의 고객들에게 있었습니다. 그들은 새벽까지 술을 마시며 크게 떠들며 놀았고 그로 인해 우리 부부는 휴식을 취하는 것에 있어 조금 문제를 겪었어요. 일정 시간이 넘어가면 다른 승객을 위해 조용히 해줄 것을 안내하는 방법이 호텔 곳곳에 마련되어있으면 좋을 것 같아요.
그래도 대체적으로 좋았습니다. 다음에는 여름에 방문해보고 싶어요.

KapoccinoSolid guesthouse with a good breakfast. The journey there felt epic, as we were greeted by wild horses. The room was small but sufficient for one night. Some guests were unfortunately inconsiderate in the shared area, particularly regarding cleanliness, noise levels and unpleasant smell. The staff was friendly and attentive. Use of the hot tubs would have been free of charge.

JuicebeiThis hotel, part of an Icelandic chain, is ideally located in Akureyri, about a 10-15 minute walk up the hill from the town center church. The water pressure in the shower was the best we experienced at any hotel during our whole Ring Road trip, and the toiletries provided were L'Occitane, which was a lovely touch.

Very cozy cabin like room which was clean and tidy. A comfortable stay. But the reception and breakfast area needs to drive. The breakfast is nice and overall nice stay. Would recommend.
