I especially appreciated the welcome drinks during check-in, a nice touch that made the experience feel more premium. The hotel also has a swimming pool, which is perfect for relaxing after a long day. Location-wise, it’s very strategic. It’s within walking distance to the train station, making it super convenient for getting around. Plus, it’s close to Deli Park Mall, one of the nicest shopping malls in the city, so food and shopping options are easily accessible.

The moment I opened the room door, I was immediately impressed! The bed was clean, thick, and came with soft, plush pillows – it felt amazing to just collapse onto it after a long journey. The large window, with its pristine white curtains and sheers, framed a charming armchair and coffee table set in the corner of the room. I left the curtains open all night, allowing for a clear city view. The service was incredibly prompt, and the staff were very responsive and efficient. My request for an extra pillow, due to my back pain, was immediately fulfilled. What I had anticipated from an Aston group hotel, and indeed, what I found at Harper Hotel Wahid Hasyim by Aston, was a diverse and delicious breakfast spread. While perhaps not as extensive as some larger Aston hotels, for a hotel of its class, HARPER HOTEL BY ASTON IS THE BEST!! The hospitality of every hotel employee was also incredibly satisfying! Friendly, full of smiles, and helpful! It's absolutely great! As a tour operator, I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel's location is quite convenient, right opposite a Starbucks. However, traffic can be quite congested. The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. On a side note, the new spa downstairs is excellent, offering great value for money. If I ever get the chance to visit again, I'd definitely consider staying at this hotel.

Excellent! It truly lives up to its reputation as the best in the area. The breakfast is plentiful, and it's undoubtedly the cleanest hotel in Medan. It was fantastic; the bed was made exceptionally well, and the water provided was good. I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet a bit away from the main town, Tuktuk Timbul is very well located. We stayed in one of their traditional-style little houses, which were very cute and charming. It’s a great spot if your plan is simply to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and do nothing much. The homestay has a restaurant (we didn’t try the food though), a pool, a ping pong table, and a billiard table — so you can easily stay entertained without leaving the property. For the price, it’s definitely good value. That said, if you want to explore or do activities around Lake Toba, this may not be the best base. There isn’t much to do in the immediate area, and the staff weren’t very helpful when we asked for recommendations — apart from renting a scooter, they didn’t provide much guidance. Communication was also tricky as they don’t really speak English. Service felt a bit cold overall; the owners live nearby but never greeted us, which made us feel like we were disturbing them rather than being welcomed. In summary: a good option if your goal is to switch off, relax, and stay put at the homestay itself. But if you’re looking for friendly service, local tips, or activities beyond the property, you might find it lacking.

The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The location is also very convenient, especially for travelers using Kualanamu International Airport. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay. I look forward to staying here again in the future!

Nice room, good but noisy air conditioning, excellent shower. No fridge in the room. The staff are friendly and helpful. I had a great dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet was fantastic: a very wide selection. The area isn't really great. The hotel is quite centrally located in Medan, but it's a chaotic city with heavy traffic. The train station is about a 20-minute walk away.
