I can't speak highly enough of the excellent and friendly service we received from the managers at this hotel. They went out of their way to accommodate us - 2 coachfuls of Scouts (83 people) for one night at 3 hours notice! They were very patient with the multiple requests for WiFi codes, help with vending machines etc, and the noise and mess that such a big group of kids inevitably brings. They even helped us order delivery pizza and let us use the dining room to eat it. On top of that, the rooms were clean and functional although basic. The showers were hot and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was very good...even marbled eggs decorated for Easter! I would stay here again if visiting the area or passing through and needing a pitstop.

As a female solo traveller I felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable. I paid for one night and never stayed, I left at 10:30pm and went to a hotel nearby. I was first out in a room with older and very strange people who had food all over their beds and floors as though they live there full time. The smell was horrendous and I knew I couldn't sleep in there. I asked for another room thinking I got unlucky. I was then transferred to a room with 3 older men in there 50s and 60s who were walking around with only underpants and then fully undressing in front of me. They were not reading books or minding their own business, just staring at me while I made my bed. As I went to leave, one of them followed me and asked where I was going, if I was leaving, and when I'd be back. He was strangely invested in my quick return bit was odd. There should be a healthy mix of women and men, and travellers want to stay with like-minded travellers, not homeless people and creepy old men! I lost 30 euros at this place. Just avoid it!

We stayed here for two nights in two different rooms. The lady at the reception was pleasant and helpful. The hostel was a 20min walk from train station. Our first room was nice and clean but a bit difficult because we needed a key to lock the door both inside and outside and the toilet, which also needed the same key to lock and unlock was on the corridor shared by another room. Our other room had the bathroom inside it and it was just lovely, nothing bad to say. We reduced a few stars because of the other receptionists behaviour (male). After our first morning one of us had a brief normal and minimal exchange with the male receptionist but in the evening when we got back, the reception was closed but he was there and seemingly drunk and excited to see our friend. This was funny for that moment. Later in our room, about 11.30 pm he came knocking at our door and called out it was reception and as I opened the door (in a towel mind you) he pushed two sparkling wine bottles in my hands and a small box with five wine glasses (we were a company of four). We wondered what it was all about and he said it was from the hotel. We did not order anything and neither does the hostel service include this. We did laugh about this for a while even though it was borderline inappropriate until 30mins later (at midnight!!! We were going to sleep as you could assume from me being in a towel) he knocked again, again claimed reception (reminder that he was not working) and pushed in my hands a warm plate of food and insisted we took it. We tried to deny it and close the door but he pushed the plate in and did not stop until I took the plate reluctantly. Then he turned around and gave us two more bottles of sparkling wine. I told him not to knock on our door again and not bother us. We closed and locked the door and turned off the lights and slept anxiously since he had definitely crossed the line and made us very uncomfortable with his (drunken?) Behaviour. This really stained our otherwise good stay in dusseldorf /hostel.

Great hostel in the city center of Munster. This is a classic hostel and they had everything. They had locks in the room and in the main room, a good informative reception, good beds, spacious rooms, a great location and friendly staff. This was an excellent stay!

Erlebnis-Übernachtung mit Camping-Retro-Feeling! Tolle Idee (Indoor-Campingplatz mit alten Wohn-/Eisenbahnwagen, Wohnmobilen, und sogar einer Seilbahngondel) bis in kleinste Details liebevoll umgesetzt, z. B. mit passenden Sitzgruppen vor den Themen-Wohnwagen und Dekorationen. Gemeinschaft-Sanitäranlagen (wie beim Camping üblich) sind sehr gut ausgestattet und sauber, im Toilettentrakt null Mief und viel Papiervorrat. Frühstück gibt es auf einer großen eingebauten Empore, auch hier originelle Gestaltungsdetails, es ist relativ einfach gehalten, aber absolut ausreichend (ich habe eigentlich nur gekochte Eier vermisst) und ordentlich präsentiert, auch wird immer wieder kontrolliert, ob etwas fehlt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Und zuletzt stimmt auch noch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! Wenn ich nochmal eine Übernachtsmöglichkeit im Raum Bonn benötige, komme ich auf alle Fälle sehr gerne wieder! Tipp: Vor der Buchung checken, ob Platz- und ”Komfort”-Angebot der gewählten Unterkunft auch den eigenen Ansprüchen und körperlichen Voraussetzungen entspricht. Zum Beispiel geht es in den alten Schlafwagenabteilen sehr eng zu, die Betten sind sehr schmal und bei Belegung mit 2 Personen muss einer sein Bett per Leiter erklimmen (so waren eben die alten Schlafwagen). Ich hatte das Abteil alleine gebucht, mir hat der Platz gereicht (bin ”Dackelgarage” und Isomatte gewohnt). :-)

Die Übernachtung in der Jugendherberge, diesmal in Aachen, bringt immer wieder Erinnerungen an die Jugendzeit zurück. Auch wenn ich heute ein Einzelzimmer mit Frühstück gebucht hatte, musste ich mein Bett selbst beziehen und wieder abziehen, was ich gerne getan habe. Was mich allerdings stört, ist, dass ich für die Übernachtung 76,94 € zahlen musste, ob in der Preisliste 56 € steht. Begründung ”In Aachen ist gerade Weihnachtsmarkt”. Ob das mit dem staatlich geförderten sozialen Auftrag, preiswerte Unterkunftsmöglichkeiten für sozial schwächere anzubieten, zu vereinbaren ist, wage ich zu bezweifeln. Das einzeln genutzte Vierbettzimmer war groß, ebenso wie der behindertengerechte Sanitärbereich, für den hohen Sonderpreis, wäre m.E. durchaus auch mal die Stellung eines Duschhandtuchs angemessen gewesen. Für den Übernachtungspreis bekommt man durchaus auch ein Mittelklassehotel im Aachener Umland. Das Frühstück ist Standard, viel Mühe auf besonders gesunde Produkte wurde nicht gelegt. Ich habe durchaus schon innovativere Jugendherbergen als Aachen gesehen!

I only stayed one short night in that hostel but I wish I could have stayed a bit longer. I booked a dorm in the ballroom one, women only, the booth was great. Comfy and very large bed for one person, tablet/light/plug for the phone, everything I needed once I was up there. I could put my valued belongigs in a closed locker which was really appreciated. The key in the lift to the hostel was given me a feeling of safety which is always good when you travel solo. The common room was decorated with taste, I didn't use it but a kitchen is always of good use in a hostel. For the price it was a real bargain, I highly recommend this hostel !
