Hotel well located next to the historic center of Uppsala, but without soul, and extremely expensive for the level of the room and the quality of the service. Professional but cold staff Room and especially bathroom deserving a renovation The cleaning was only half done and my bed was not even made up. I went to many hotels... And this is the first time that this has happened to me!

It is a business hotel, right across the road from the railway station and walking distance to the bus station. Stayed at this place upon arrival by train from Stockholm. Could walk to University of Uppsala for my meeting. Also bus to SLU for visit. Lots of eateries nearby. Also took a chance to see the nearby sights.

For the price you can’t beat it. It was very well located, clean and comfortable. If I had to quibble there isn’t a proper desk in the room which is tricky for working but not the end of the world. The staff were polite and helpful. The rooms are small but then you can’t expect bigger at this price point.

We loved our stay at the Grand Hotell Horgan just 2 weekends ago. We stayed in a junior corner suite which had gorgeous views over Uppsala Castle from one side and the town, river and Cathedral from the other. The room was comfortable and we slept well. The only negative is that the shower room was really tiny but the shower was hot and powerful. The breakfast is a buffet and was plentiful and everything fresh and the dining room was a light and airy room. The bar area is great, you can enjoy coffee during the day in front of the fire, essential in the cold and snowy Swedish March weather then at night it’s busy with hotel residents and local visitors but feels very special. Staff were generally very friendly. A special thanks to the guy who waited on us a lot over the weekend, we’re sorry we didn’t get your name (young guy who wore glasses) very friendly, helpful and even got us a sandwich on our first night when the local restaurants had closed their kitchens already! He spoke perfect “Swenglish”. The hotel is in a great location alongside the river and in easy walk of all the places of interest. I would definitely recommend paying the extra to stay here as opposed to the cheaper hotels in Uppsala if it’s still within your budget.

Great room--quite spacious, great staff--all of whom were professional. I loved the view of the train tracks and station, though there was no noise. Solid breakfast. Overall, excellent.

Room is nice and cozy, and hotel layout is unique. Combined shower/toilet design helps save space. Hotel does not have a 24 hour desk, and after hours support is lacking. Hotel has transitioned to a digital key, and mine did not work a few days after check in, at 2 AM. After hours instructions are to dial a special number on the front door keypad which results in a very short time to talk to the after hours support. I was instructed to access the hotel safe to retrieve a digital yellow master key, after multiple redials. The safe was full of physical keys, but no digital keys! My door had no physical keyhole. Repeated calls to after hour support urged me to keep looking for a master key, until I gave up and just slept on a couch in the lobby. When the morning staff arrived at ~06:30, they had to wake up another guest to retrieve the master key from their room. Staff was able to get me a functional key hours later. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel, and more importantly, my flight on my checkout day 2 days later would require me to leave the hotel before the morning staff arrived. I could not trust the hotel to maintain access to my belongings after hours, so I checked out and moved to a hotel with a 24 hour desk (the only reason booked Hotel Stella to begin with was because all others in the area were booked, but an opening came up). The new hotel was comparable price but much nicer for a similar price. Wish they would have had availability to begin with. I requested a refund of my unused nights from Hotel Stella and the owner blamed me for my experience. After multiple rounds of communication, he offered to reimburse me for the night I spent on the couch, but would not excuse me checking out early, calling my reasoning a ”fantasy”. This is a solid hotel, but beware the management!

Hotel was generally very good. Staff in the hotel were very nice and kind. The room was quite calm. It's good for the rest. Near the hotel is a fuel station and a lot of shopping centres. For sure, I will come back to this hotel during my next trip to Uppsala.

We stayed at the Scandic Upplandia hotel for the duration of the dance competition in Uppsala with the entire team of dancers and their parents. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a nice receptionist who had room cards ready. The rooms were nice and clean. Some rooms were a bit colder for us, but it was possible to get a direct heater at the reception. The breakfasts had a large selection and were tasty, the staff always nice and friendly. The location of the hotel in the center was great. If we go to Uppsala again, we will definitely stay in the same hotel.
