"Convenient transportation, nice view outside the window. Unfortunately, I repeatedly emphasized the need for a quiet room before check-in, but in the last two days, I was inexplicably disturbed by heavy footsteps and couldn't fall asleep. It might be the guest upstairs, the wall resonance, or the elevator running. In short, I hope the hotel will seriously investigate the cause. After all, *20 is the largest and should be the better room in the hotel. In addition, there are quite a lot of mosquitoes in May, the tabletop is seriously damaged, and the floor is wet after taking a shower, which is easy to slip. The guest's check-in experience is still the most important, and I hope the hotel can pay attention to improvement."

"We stayed for a week. The hotel is very beautiful, the old cloister where breakfast is served is magnificent. The staff is lovely, and the breakfast is varied. The only downside was the room, which was austere, fitting the style and not suited to modern amenities, but the fixtures (faucets, tiles, paint) were in poor condition. I would recommend a room on the second floor because ours overlooked the walkway, so the shutters were always closed and you never saw any daylight. Also, if people smoked on the walkway, your room smelled of tobacco. The location, however, is fantastic. Overall, a rather positive experience thanks to the kindness of the staff."

When we challenged this we were told someone must have made the booking for us which was both irrelevant and incorrect. It took over an hour to find a car park. We would not have booked this hotel had we known there was no carpark option. We also heard other patrons complaining about not having a carpark when they thought they did complaining about the same problem. We feel we were misled."

"Very large and beautiful room. We booked two rooms, and one wasn't even in the photos on ***********. It's in a nice area right in front of the port. There are definitely some things that could be improved. Like the cleanliness, the ceiling fan was full of dust, there's a lot of mold in both rooms, the coffee machine was full of pods and no water, and the sheets were stained. It's nice, but I don't know if I'd recommend it."

"The hotel advertises itself as a 4-star property, but in our opinion it is closer to a 2-star hotel, at best. Up on arrival we received very little information, no information about breakfast hours, housekeeping, or the Wi-Fi. Our room was small, and the beds were old and worn. The mattress was actually shorter than the bed frame. The curtains did not hang properly because the curtain rail was damaged, and it was obvious that the area under the beds had not been cleaned. Storage space was extremely limited, with very little wardrobe or shelf space. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, was also very small, and the shower was cramped. There was only a tiny shelf (about 10 × 30 cm) for toiletries. The toilet was difficult to flush properly. The room was poorly soundproofed, and we were woken during the night by people talking and walking in the corridor. Breakfast was very basic. There were no boiled or fried eggs, very limited cold cuts and fresh vegetables, but an abundance of sweet pastries and cakes. The staff were friendly, but the overall level of service was disappointing. After three days we wanted to exchange the beach towels, for which we had already paid €10, but we were told we would have to pay again for fresh ones. The hotel’s biggest strengths are its location directly opposite the beach and the pleasant 20-minute walk along the seafront promenade to Alghero’s beautiful old town. We also had a small balcony overlooking the sea, which was a lovely place to end the day with a drink while watching life go by. Overall, Hotel San Marco has a long way to go before it deserves a 4-star rating."

"Old and dirty ! At the arrival no one was at reception for wile after pressing the bell for several time ! We got given a room that we had to ask to change it for another room as it wasn't clean ! A glass was broken in the balcony the day we arrived and was still there the day we left ! I won't recommend this hole to no one !"

"We had a wonderful and very relaxing stay at Hotel Dei Pini. The hotel is extremely peaceful and very clean, and its location directly on the beach is one of its biggest advantages. You can leave your room and be in the sea in just 2 minutes. The sea is beautiful, the water is clear and the sandy beach is lovely. We reserved sunbeds in the first row for €50 per day, which was perfect for us. We booked half board and asked to change dinner to lunch. The hotel kindly arranged this for us, and we enjoyed delicious, fresh meals every day. The food was consistently very good. Drinks are not included in the half-board package, which is worth knowing in advance. The atmosphere is very calm. There are no major activities or entertainment programs, which we actually appreciated because we came here to relax. There is live music for about an hour three evenings a week, and even that is pleasant and peaceful. The guests were mostly couples and families of different ages, and everyone was respectful and quiet. The whole atmosphere felt comfortable and relaxing. Another thing we really appreciated was that the hotel allowed us to check in at around 11:00 AM at no extra charge. Alghero Airport is only about 15 minutes away. The hotel can arrange a taxi, and we paid €36. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Dei Pini to anyone looking for a very clean, peaceful hotel with a beautiful sandy beach and sea, good food and a relaxing atmosphere. If your priority is rest, quietness and being just steps from the beach, this is an excellent choice. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return."

"I booked this hotel for a weekend at the seaside, but aside from the unique location, housed in a cloister adjacent to the church of San Francesco, everything else was very sketchy. Check-in is at 4:00 PM, perhaps a little late, given that check-out is at 10:00 AM. However, they let us leave our bags and return in the afternoon. When I booked a superior room for extra comfort, I noticed a portable air conditioner (very noisy) with a hose leading to the balcony to cool the room. When I asked for an explanation, I was told that the fixed split unit hadn't worked for a while and they were waiting for replacements!!!! So, why was the room still given to me? The hose required the balcony to be left ajar, and as a result, the air conditioning was always on full blast, with all the associated noise, especially at night!!!! Needless to say, the request for a room change went unanswered. The TV in the room didn't work, nor did the entire first floor, as it was tied to the hotel's Wi-Fi network, which, listen, didn't work either. Breakfast, in the cloister, starting at 8:00 (slowly), was limited to a few frozen and poorly cooked croissants, the usual toast/cereals, and some fruit for the decor, perhaps with a Franciscan theme. The price (€200 per night for a double room) certainly isn't Franciscan, including the inconvenience! The only redeeming factor is the reception staff, who were always very friendly but lacked the resources to resolve the reported problems."
