Service: There was a piece of cake in the room, but it was rotten. I called the front desk, but they just took it away and nothing happened. The child wanted to eat the cake and cried for a long time. Environment: The overall environment is OK."

"I recently stayed at Santa Barbara by Santas Hotels and had a wonderful experience. The location in the heart of Altea's Old Town is unbeatable, just steps away from the iconic blue-domed church and lively squares. The hotel itself is stunning—a beautifully restored historic building with modern, clean, and comfortable rooms. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shower was fantastic. The views from my room's balcony of the sea and town were absolutely breathtaking. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making check-in and communication seamless. Just a small note for future travelers: since it is located in the historic center, there are steep cobbled streets to walk up, so bring good walking shoes! Don't overpack! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an authentic and luxurious stay in Altea. I will definitely be back!"

"We much enjoyed our stay in this charming boutique hotel which is very well placed for visiting the sights of this lovely old town. Our room - an Urban Independent - was spacious and well maintained. The staff were all friendly and helpful. For us a major plus was the delightful terrace and pool with chairs and sunloungers where we could relax after sightseeing. Happily no competition for these! The hills in Altea are very steep with lots of steps and we were relieved to find that cars can drive right up to the door of La Serena."

"This is about the 4th time we have stayed here. It is beautifully decorated and the owners supply just about everything you could need, and some! In the bathrooms there is shampoo and shower gel, in the kitchen there is coffee, sugar, cereal, jam, butter and milk. The beds are enormous and very comfortable. It is located in the old town with a tapas bar virtually next door."

"Well what a gem this place is ! Just wanted a 1 night trip to Altea,booked online,it is a little out of town but literally a 5 minute taxi ride.This place is unique.Nothing special from the road bit once you get in it's so quirky,bohemian type of feel.There are only 6 rooms,we had one with a huge terrace,we could have had a party.Thetes an honest bar outside.The pool & grounds...WOW,beautiful, so relaxing & peaceful,they definitely nailed it.Would most definitely stay here again"

"We had a most enjoyable stay at this beautiful hotel in Altea and would happily recommend it. The location is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Spacious pool area, plenty of sun beds/parasols with tables and chairs to the other side. A well-stocked bar with reasonably priced drinks and snacks. The hotel sits right beside the beach. Although it's stony, a pair of water shoes made it easier to enjoy a swim in the warm sea. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with an impressive selection of hot and cold dishes to suit every taste. There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The hotel also offers several attractive communal areas where you can relax in the sunshine or find a peaceful spot in the shade. The entertainment team deserves a special mention. The water aerobics sessions were great fun, and although we didn't have children with us, it was lovely to see how enthusiastic and engaging the children's entertainer was. Our room was small but had lovely views over the pool and the sea. The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning coped adequately despite the extreme heat, and the room was equipped with a tea and coffee machine, fridge and safe. The toiletries and towels were also of good quality. The hotel was spotless throughout, and all the staff were friendly and courteous. The communal areas, including the games room, were cool due to good air conditioning. Evening entertainment was enjoyable, although louder than we would have preferred. Getting around was easy. The tram stop is only a five-minute walk out from the front of the hotel, with a reliable service, good value too. The hotel also provides a shuttle bus into town, which was thoughtful and a useful addition for guests. Clearer instructions regarding the return pick-up would have been useful. Whilst there aren't shops immediately nearby, a ten-minute walk takes you to Altea's promenade with numerous restaurants and cafés. From there, it's about ten minutes uphill to the charming old town. Walking in the opposite direction from the hotel leads to a handful of beach bars with a more local, less touristy atmosphere. We would return, probably outside the height of summer as there are plenty of interesting places nearby that we would explore."

"Excellent hotel, cannot fault it at all. Rooms are well appointed with good facilities including coffee machine fridge smart tv. The beds, oh my - huge and the most comfortable bed. Slept so well with the new quiet cold air con units. The bathrooms great - hot power shower, fresh towels daily. The place is spotlessly clean. But the most amazing part of your stay here is the views from the balcony. A great way to start the day with morning coffee and that unbelievable view. Other things to mention, super friendly staff. So helpful, quick responses over WhatsApp. Easy check in and out. Honestly this hotel is wonderful."

"The location is perfect - 5 minutes walk away from the beach - 5 minutes walk to Plaza de la Iglesia. Here you find a lot of restaurants, shops and bars. My room was large. Great bed and a shower to die for. Coffee machine and mini bar at the room. The pool area has amazing sunbeds and a lovely pool. I love a great breakfast. The breakfast at La Serena is not great. It is decent. You can not order any eggs like scramble, fried or an omelet. The tortilla is very similar to the one I buy at Mercadona. I think it is from Mercadona. Which is fine with me. Mercadona makes the best tortilla in Spain. I did not try the restaurant for lunch or dinner. I will stay at La Serena next time I am in Altea"

"Welcoming owners, superb beachfront location with fantastic views, and the best breakfasts. We had a corner room with a beach view for our 2 night stay and couldn't have been happier. We were b and b and the hotel uses an attached restaurant right on the promenade for guests breakfasts. A great selection of healthy and otherwise food. We both opted for the English and they were super...and huge. Great quality ingredients. As it's an old building with historical character, it doesn't have a lift and the stairs are steep and narrow, so the rooms aren't suitable for anyone with mobility issues. For everyone else, book here...it's fabulous."

"We stayed here for 3 nights (1st July-4th) but wish it had been longer. Stayed in Jacaranda room which was perfect. Bed super comfy. Beautiful pool and gardens. Amazing breakfast made fresh by Athena- she was so helpful ensuring we had freshly made juice (with fruit from gardens) and the most amazing cake. Parking at side of hotel. Amazing sunsets from the garden. We were so sorry to leave. Will definetly revisit."

"We stayed as a part of a wedding party for a week - during which the weather was very hot. We were booked in by Danny, one of the receptionists on duty and he could not have been more friendly and helpful. Nothing was too small for him so hope the management give him our thanks. Our room was very comfortable - if a bit sparsely furnished with a very good bed. We were on half board so had a variety of meals and all I can say is that the food was excellent every time. A very good variety and plentiful. Also, very important, bar prices were very reasonable - a glass of wine was 3.50 euros and a half litre of sparking water well under 3 euros. All the staff were very friendly and helpful - a special mention to the lady who serviced her room. She deserves a managers thank you The room air conditioning was very efficient in the very hot weather mid to upper30’s"
