PPengguna TetamuAn absolutely gem inside the Datong ancient city square in a modern gated compound, conveniently located within walking distance to shops, restaurants and many ancient and historical sites. Our booking came with a free pick up and drop off from the train station.
The room is super clean, comfortable and well equipped ( with Dyson hair drier) whilst the toilet is fully automatic with a heated seat . Our main highlight is most definitely the incredible staff. They were warm, attentive and the service was so personal that our experience in Datong became so special. We were concerned as we weren’t able to book our entry ticket to the Hanging temple before we arrived, but the staff recommended a fantastic driver who took us there early in the morning and ensured everything worked out well. The homemade and included breakfast was delicious and incredibly special . They also prepared our breakfast to go on the day we left very early in the morning. Similarly whenever we asked for a recommendation for restaurants or activities, they very kindly personally accompanied us to where we needed to go whilst ensuring we were attended to. All their suggestions were superb. The level of attention we received is simply unmatched compared to that of large hotel chain.

PPengguna TetamuThe entire experience is really fantastic. For foreigners coming to China, I would recommend stopping by Datong and staying in this guesthouse. The owner is extremely friendly, providing pick up and drop off service for my family with elderly parents. There is no need to worry about the language barrier as she does her best to make the experience as comfortably as she can. She also sent us to a nearby famous hotpot restaurant. Rose tea and fruits are served every night and her 刀削面 for breakfast is the best I had of all the noodles I ate in China. It’s a very homely feel and I would want to go back again. The bed is very comfortable, with Dyson hair dryer and warm water works well. There is a bidet and elevator in the guesthouse. Wonderful experience and ps: this is not a paid review 😆

KKatrin SauthoffMy husband and I are a couple from Germany. We booked two nights there, and our decision was absolutely the right one. From the initial contact (via the WeChat app, which is essential for your entire trip to China) to our departure, everything was perfect. We were picked up from the train station by car and taken to the hotel free of charge. This is especially good for Western tourists who don't speak Chinese. The first problem would have been explaining to the taxi where we wanted to go. The lobby and rooms are very beautiful, stylish, and equipped with the highest technology. Most of the guest rooms face the inner courtyard, so you can sleep very quietly and comfortably. The beds are very large and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent. It's located on the northern edge of the Ancient City of Datong, just a few minutes' walk from the tourist attractions and the colorful and lively old town. So you can enjoy it without being disturbed by noise. I would especially like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately, we don't speak Chinese, and the staff didn't speak English, but with the help of modern communication tools (language apps), we understood each other perfectly. Every request was fulfilled. There's even the option to use a washing machine in the basement of the hotel. This is especially fantastic for tourists on longer trips to China, as it allows for easy laundry. If you ever come back to China, we will definitely book this hotel again.

PPengguna TetamuI went with my sister. To a place that is remote and strange to us. We did not expect much but we received lots of warm memories. From the airport pick up to arriving. They offered afternoon tea once we arrived hotel as it was very cold. We were taken care of well. The following days were nice breakfast, warm regards, constant reminders to wear more as it is cold. When the food rider could not find the hotel, the boss went out to find the food rider, asking me to stay back as it is cold outside. The constant reminders felt home and warmth, genuinely care for their guests. Amazing and soul enriching trip at this place. They offered more than they advertised - depending on the situations, which is beyond my expectation. Finally they sent us off to the railway station, this is not in the package but they only said they had the car, they can bring us there, like family sending off their guests. Find a place like this, rest for a few days, the world feels warmer, the soul feels grateful.

GGoh Wee KengA gem of a 民宿 located within the Datong old city walls. Conveniently located next to a plethora of good eats including 喜晋道 and the ever popular 霸王茶姬，the friendly yet non-intrusive service staff provided excellent service throughout of 4 day stay. Engaging their 商务车 for 2 days to explore around Datong was a great decision as the staff service extended to having hot beverages, biscuits and fruits ready for us coming in from the cold weather. The same service extends to breakfast for which a spread of home cooked dishes are made fresh daily. A great stay and highly recommended.

The staff is very friendly en although they dont speak English, they have a translation device, making sure communication is possible. The hotel itself is pretty and so is the room. The one thing to consider when traveling as friends is that the bathroom isn't in a seperate area, although there is a screen to make sure you get some privacy. Not something negative, just something to consider.

I was in a 12 bed dorm but the room is very spacious and has a private bathroom/shower, all super clean, and then bed was comfy. The only thing is that the bedlight makes a sound every time it’s turned on/off: it’s funny but I was a bit worried to bother other guests. Ah, I was also able to do my laundry with no fees and was even given a little welcome bag. The location although not within the city walls is close to several bus stops and one can ride a bike easy to all the major attractions ~ which was a lovely way to explore Datong.
The best thing is the staff though: incredibly helpful and friendly. On my last day they let me stay past the checkout time so that I could keep on working using their WiFi which was a massive massive help, and offered to lend me an umbrella and drive me as the rain was so heavy.
Most def recommend staying here when you visit Datong!

PPengguna Tanpa NamaI booked two rooms for 4, and we were given rooms beside each other. We arrived late at night around 9.30pm and check in went smoothly. Rooms were very comfortable and were equipped with SMART tech with voice activation! We were also able to check out a little later upon request since our train left later in the afternoon. I also had packages delivered to the reception and had no issues. Location was great and easy to explore the ancient city and also to see the main wall itself.
One thing to note is that there isn't a formal drop off point but you can definitely get dropped off and picked up along the side of the road. The room layout was slightly different than the images on Trip.com (I booked a Double bedroom with courtyard view with a stay voucher), but the room was good too although I would have preferred the toilet configuration in the photos. Overall, a great place to stay and I'd definitely stay here again if I get to come back to Datong. They also have a bakery at the lobby and it gets sold out pretty quickly!

AALY2018房間如圖沒有出入；附近飯店也挺多的，離明堂不遠。非常乾淨，投影也好用，最重要是服務非常到位！今天走得急忘記拍圖了，我把身份證落在房間，前台姐姐特別好第一時間就去房間幫我找到了，特別感謝。偶爾晚上超過工作時間小姐姐也會回覆，下次來一定還定這家！
