Amazing and really clean hotel. Everything was new and really nicely decorated. It is a bit hidden so I recommend contacting the staff before hand. The service was phenomenal. Both the boss and her employee were super nice and accommodating. They had really good recommendations and they even drove us to places. Breakfast was excellent as well. Really tasty and great choices. When we came back after being in the cold, they even brought us special rose tea to get warm again.

I initially booked for one night but I decided to stay for another night. Total two nights in the same room. Room is very clean, very quiet and the bed was superb, I slept very well. Staff super friendly and helpful. Hotel's location is about 10mins taxi from the old town centre but it is very convenient. If you don't like super crowded area with noisy street vendors and many tourists, I would recommend this place. I personally really enjoyed staying at this hotel, will definitely stay here again if I come back to Datong in future.

The hotel is excellent, with a fantastic location directly opposite Parkson shopping mall, making it very convenient. There are plenty of food options nearby, so finding something to eat is incredibly easy. The breakfast is outstanding, with a wide variety of choices. I especially liked the monitor display that clearly shows the menu items—it’s very organized and helpful. Another lovely touch is that the hotel sells their own shower cream and body lotion, and they smell absolutely amazing. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and definitely worth it.

Wow, I loved this homestay! The lively and kind lady who runs Yishui homestay is a good English speaker and very patient, so foreigners as well as Chinese will feel at ease staying here. It is a very hospitable atmosphere! Location is in the pedestrianized part of the old city, very near the Drum Tower. Therefore, there is lots to see/do/eat while walking nearby. But the location is also not far from the driving road, so it was an easy, short walk to meet my driver when going out to the hanging temple, the grottos, and the train station. The facility is an old-style courtyard home, with a beautiful wood-beam ceiling. The interior rooms are completely renovated and modernized, with great water pressure, all necessary toiletries, an excellent quality hair dryer, slippers, and super air-con/heating! (It was -3 one night during my stay, but I was warm and comfy in that room!) Clean towels are brought daily. Breakfast was included in my stay and I was very happy with the food. It is an ample Chinese-style breakfast, and you can inform the cook if there is some food you don't/can't eat. Although the breakfast was plenty of food for me, I saw a guest ask for more baozi, and he was kindly given 2 more. Fresh fruit was also offered for free several times during my stay. Within a 5 minute radius (walking), there are many eating places for lunch, dinner, snacks, and tea/coffee. There are also numerous historical sites (dragon wall, temples, ”mansions”, the Catholic Church, etc.) in easy walking distance. In fact, there was so much to see nearby that I was not able to see everything! The homestay looks very charming, and many, many people were often seen stopping to take photos in front of the homestay, as well as on the back wall of the homestay, which is next to a Chinese Opera stage--it is especially lovely at night! It is a 10-15 minute walk to the ancient city wall, where you can climb up and enjoy the sights, or visit a (Chinese) bookstore within the city wall, under one of the arches. My Beijing friends, who stayed at a nearby hotel, were equally impressed when they came to visit me in Yishui homestay, and they got the WeChat contact so that they can return to stay at Yishui homestay on a return trip--so easy to get there by fast train from Beijing!

I can’t stop raving about this inn. It is a B&B style three stories tall inn located inside the Datong Ancient City. Complimentary shuttle service between the airport or railway station made it really convenient for out of town travelers. The guest room was clean and equipped with modern facilities like automatic toilets, coded entry, projection screens, etc. The inn is located near the north gate of the city amongst other accommodations. Within minutes of walking is access to the top of the city wall where bike rental is available to ride along the wall. The inn is very quiet at night. The inn is family operated and everyone was very hospitable. What sets this inn apart from other accommodations in the area is their dedication to service. The owner knew I was a tourist and new to the area, she offered to pick me up if I got lost wandering the ancient city. The breakfast came with my reservation. When the owner found out I had to depart before breakfast serving hours, she went above and beyond to prepare food and served me 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The food tasted amazing and came with abundant varieties and huge portions. It was definitely not part of the service to drop off at another venue, but the owner took me to my next accommodation 2km away. I truly appreciate everything this inn and its staff has done for me. I am so glad to have chosen to stay this beautiful little inn on my first night in Datong. I will definitely stay here again without a doubt on my next visit.

I stayed at Ibis in Datong, and this time the room felt noticeably more spacious compared to other Ibis hotels. As always, I choose Ibis (Huazhu Group) whenever I travel in China—it gives me a strong sense of reliability and peace of mind. The non-smoking room is still my favorite—clean, fresh, and free of any unpleasant smells. The bed is soft and comfortable, and the bedsheets feel great. I always sleep well here. The breakfast was surprisingly good, definitely better than expected for a budget hotel. The location is convenient, not too far from the main areas. I also really liked Datong as a city—people are sincere and very willing to help. The local tourist shuttle system is well organized, so there’s usually no need to hire a private car. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay. I would definitely stay here again. 这是大同ibis，，ibis房间很大，早餐不会难吃，很好。下次还是会入住。地点不会太偏僻。我每次去中国一定选择华住会的ibis，应为安心。最最最喜欢无烟房。床很柔软软，床单舒服。我很喜欢大同这个城市人很真诚乐意帮助。大同直通车旅游做的很好基本不太需要包车。 今回、大同のイビスに宿泊しましたが、他のイビスと比べて部屋がやや広く、より快適に感じられました。 中国に行く際は、いつも華住会グループのイビスを利用しています。安心して泊まれる点が気に入っています。 特に気に入っているのは禁煙ルームで、匂いがなく清潔でとても快適に過ごせます。 ベッドも柔らかくて寝心地が良く、シーツの肌触りも良いので、毎回ぐっすり眠れます。 朝食も思ったより良く、ビジネスホテルとしては十分満足できる内容でした。 立地もそれほど不便ではなく、移動もしやすいです。 また、大同という街自体もとても良い印象で、人が親切で、困ったときにも助けてくれる雰囲気があると感じました。 観光用の直通バスも整っており、個人で車を手配しなくても十分観光できます。 全体的にとても快適で、また利用したいと思います。

The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is quite far away from the tourist Center. All have to take shuttle bus to the scenic place from the tourist Center. There are several restaurants around the hotel.
