A truly spectacular place to stay while in Datong. The owner and his staff made us feel very welcome, questions and requests were attended to promptly and with a smile. When the owner asked us to treat the place like our home, he meant it, and looked after us like family. Our room was stylish, elegant and comfortable, the contemporary finish inside allowed us our modern comforts while retaining its historical facade. Our room was one of two that shared a courtyard. Although too cold to sit outside, I can see a return in warmer weather to enjoy the courtyard. The first three pictures were provided by the owner as we were too excited and forgot to take pictures of the room, but they mirror reality. The last picture was ours, and will remind us of the magical time we had here. The accommodation is a short walk to the South gate of the old city wall, close to the buzz of the shops of the old city but away from the crowds. Five star hotels can learn a thing or two about service from this establishment. We will be back.

The best stay I’ve ever had in my entire life — and trust me, I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and B&Bs. ;) The rooms are gorgeous, spotless, and super comfortable, with great attention to detail — everything I could possibly need (and more!) was provided. The bathroom even had a Dyson hair dryer, a Kohler heated automatic toilet, and a Hansgrohe faucet! If you’re not familiar with these brands, just know they’re the best you can get. The location is convenient for reaching downtown Datong and various points of interest… but honestly, these technical aspects — which alone would already deserve a 10-star rating — pale in comparison to the warmth and kindness we received from the B&B owners. My friends and I truly felt at home, pampered by Ben, the guy who runs the place with such care and attention to his guests that I’ve never experienced anywhere else (not even in 5-star hotels!). He and his sister picked us up at the station — both speak excellent English (which is not something you can take for granted in China) — and they recommended amazing local restaurants, must-see attractions, and even welcomed us with a lovely gift package of local specialties. For breakfast, Ben’s mother prepared a rich and delicious traditional meal, and for our train trip she even packed homemade bread for us to take along! Datong is a charming city, and if you visit, you absolutely have to stay here!!!

Our stay at Bo Yuan’er Platinum Courtyard Hotel in Datong was outstanding. The hotel enjoys an excellent location right in the heart of Datong’s Ancient City. Being situated in the pedestrian zone means it is wonderfully quiet at night with no traffic noise, yet it still offers the convenience of an underground parking garage for guests arriving by car. The hotel is newly built with beautiful traditional-inspired architecture, and the rooms are luxurious, spacious, and finished to a very high standard. Everything felt modern, elegant, and exceptionally well maintained. The Chinese breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious dishes. Every morning was a pleasure. What impressed us most was the genuinely warm hospitality of the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, professional, and always happy to help with any request. They kindly offered us a late checkout, which made our travel plans much more comfortable. As a final surprise, we even received a thoughtful gift when we left—a wonderful gesture that perfectly reflected the hotel’s exceptional service. We highly recommend Bo Yuan’er Platinum Courtyard Hotel to anyone visiting Datong. It combines a perfect location, beautiful accommodations, outstanding breakfast, and truly first-class hospitality. We would gladly stay here again.

This boutique hotel is conveniently located in the old City. The hotel staff are very friendly and even fetched us from the train station. Hotel room is spacious and comfortable. I accidentally dropped a ring in the lobby and the staff picked up and returned to me. Very pleasant staff and highly recommended.

我是攜程跟團訂的這家酒店兩晚，然後我又定了另外一家民宿的第三晚，結果到了這家酒店之後覺得特別好，就把那家民宿退了，在這邊續住了一晚 環境： 位置交通比較方便，去古城打車起步價，其實也不需要住在古城裡麪，因為古城有的地方還在修比較混亂，那種很清幽的環境，這裏去吃紫泥369非常近去吃喜晉道也不遠 衞生：很好 設施：有洗衣房，自助早餐很豐盛，也有現點的麪啥的，電視可以投影，洗澡水很大，枕頭有兩種高度，床墊應該是橡膠的稍微有點軟。

來大同旅行選這家民宿真的太明智！民宿坐落在大同古城內，地理位置絕佳，步行就能到華嚴寺、代王府、鼓樓，遊玩路線特別順，晚上逛古城夜景也十分方便。 房間乾淨整潔，居住體驗舒適，床品柔軟，休息得很好。最驚喜的是還提供早餐，不用早起外出覓食，十分省心。前台小姐姐很熱情服務超好👍，還給我們準備了水果，礦泉水也是無限暢飲，出行有問題都會耐心解答。下次再來大同，還會選擇這裏，強烈推薦給來大同遊玩的朋友！

My husband and I are a couple from Germany. We booked two nights there, and our decision was absolutely the right one. From the initial contact (via the WeChat app, which is essential for your entire trip to China) to our departure, everything was perfect. We were picked up from the train station by car and taken to the hotel free of charge. This is especially good for Western tourists who don't speak Chinese. The first problem would have been explaining to the taxi where we wanted to go. The lobby and rooms are very beautiful, stylish, and equipped with the highest technology. Most of the guest rooms face the inner courtyard, so you can sleep very quietly and comfortably. The beds are very large and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent. It's located on the northern edge of the Ancient City of Datong, just a few minutes' walk from the tourist attractions and the colorful and lively old town. So you can enjoy it without being disturbed by noise. I would especially like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately, we don't speak Chinese, and the staff didn't speak English, but with the help of modern communication tools (language apps), we understood each other perfectly. Every request was fulfilled. There's even the option to use a washing machine in the basement of the hotel. This is especially fantastic for tourists on longer trips to China, as it allows for easy laundry. If you ever come back to China, we will definitely book this hotel again.

The host and the team were genuinely welcoming and accommodating. They exerted every effort to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The property have undergone a complete refurbishment. Our accommodation is a family suite featuring a courtyard and a penthouse, providing a dedicated area for children. Breakfast is served homemade style, offering local noodles or dumplings, or Western options, all prepared by the owner or the team. Nevertheless, it is necessary to liaise with the team regarding your arrival or departure arrangements, as traffic restrictions occasionally prevent vehicle access directly to the hotel entrance during certain limited hours.

貴賓樓 有蕎麥皮枕頭，水龍頭出水開大點就往外濺 早餐豐盛，熱菜清淡可口，中西式。 二樓餐廳午餐晚餐，好吃不貴。 外賣，有機器人送餐。 飲用水不限量 服務好 泳池對外教學，人多 地下停車場，地上 ，車位多 頂層九樓熱，空調降不下來 黃經世紀 周圍，尤其東邊荒地，無外賣。 有小賣部零食泳衣 有廚房，灶台，三開門冰箱，需自帶鍋具 全屋智能，全屋智能影音。 飲用水不限量 主卧，客廳有電視 客廳廚房一側窗户在另一套院子的院牆上 環境： 暑假來大同避暑，市區呆了十多天，臨走到這裏玩兩天。 酒店離市區不遠，但是是真偏，沒有外賣，出園區外十公里內沒有商業，一直往東去是荒原，一座座荒廢的大棚靜靜的守着那一大片被遺忘的鹽鹼地，村莊裡也幾乎沒有店鋪，衹有一些留守的長者。 餐飲： 園區內還是很方便的，早餐自助，品質不錯種類也很豐富，午餐晚餐雖然衹有一個飯館，不過也夠解決，還有一個小賣部賣零食飲料和泳衣泳褲。吃飯的地方和小賣部都不遠，而且有免費擺渡車招手即停。 住宿： 我們住的是暢園私湯小院，院子裏一個泡池，主卧一個泡池，主卧和客廳各有一個衞生間，都可以洗澡。客廳的衞生間有個滾筒洗衣機，提供洗衣液和柔順劑，可以自備衣服消毒液。 全屋影音中控系統，主卧和客廳各有一個電視。 有廚房，有三開門冰箱，有燃氣灶可以生火做飯，但炊具需自備。 房間通風很好。每個卧室都有窗户，客廳是南北窗，廚房和兩個衞生間也都有可打開的窗户。 飲用水不限量供應，都是黃經世家的火山礦泉水，還提供5L的大桶水。 服務： 辦理入住後，會建專屬微信羣，有什麼事有管家負責。不管是管家還是保潔還是擺渡車司機，每個人都很好。有什麼要求都會盡量滿足你。 此次行程非常滿意。

This weekend, I had the pleasure of staying at the Great Palace Hotel in Datong, and I must say it was an incredible experience from the moment we arrived. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, checking us in quickly and even upgrading us to the best available room. To our surprise, we were greeted with a thoughtful welcome that included a fresh fruit basket, traditional Chinese soup, and complimentary tea. The hotel offers an impressive breakfast selection, catering to both local and international tastes. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and the beds are incredibly comfortable—making it easy to unwind after a day of sightseeing. This was my second time staying at the Great Palace Hotel, and once again, it exceeded expectations. Its location is ideal—right in the heart of the city, close to all major tourist attractions and just a few kilometers from the train station. Special thanks to Manager 崔经理, who was exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our stay. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Datong. What truly sets this hotel apart is the attention to detail and the genuine hospitality of the staff. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or returning guest, the service remains consistently high. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between traditional charm and modern comfort, making it a reliable choice for both leisure and business travelers.
