PPhilYgA truly spectacular place to stay while in Datong. The owner and his staff made us feel very welcome, questions and requests were attended to promptly and with a smile. When the owner asked us to treat the place like our home, he meant it, and looked after us like family. Our room was stylish, elegant and comfortable, the contemporary finish inside allowed us our modern comforts while retaining its historical facade. Our room was one of two that shared a courtyard. Although too cold to sit outside, I can see a return in warmer weather to enjoy the courtyard. The first three pictures were provided by the owner as we were too excited and forgot to take pictures of the room, but they mirror reality. The last picture was ours, and will remind us of the magical time we had here. The accommodation is a short walk to the South gate of the old city wall, close to the buzz of the shops of the old city but away from the crowds. Five star hotels can learn a thing or two about service from this establishment. We will be back.

PPengguna TetamuThe best stay I’ve ever had in my entire life — and trust me, I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and B&Bs. ;)
The rooms are gorgeous, spotless, and super comfortable, with great attention to detail — everything I could possibly need (and more!) was provided. The bathroom even had a Dyson hair dryer, a Kohler heated automatic toilet, and a Hansgrohe faucet! If you’re not familiar with these brands, just know they’re the best you can get. The location is convenient for reaching downtown Datong and various points of interest… but honestly, these technical aspects — which alone would already deserve a 10-star rating — pale in comparison to the warmth and kindness we received from the B&B owners.
My friends and I truly felt at home, pampered by Ben, the guy who runs the place with such care and attention to his guests that I’ve never experienced anywhere else (not even in 5-star hotels!). He and his sister picked us up at the station — both speak excellent English (which is not something you can take for granted in China) — and they recommended amazing local restaurants, must-see attractions, and even welcomed us with a lovely gift package of local specialties.
For breakfast, Ben’s mother prepared a rich and delicious traditional meal, and for our train trip she even packed homemade bread for us to take along!
Datong is a charming city, and if you visit, you absolutely have to stay here!!!

Ggregory rozmarinReally unique build. The courtyard is beautiful the rooms are newly built with lots of nice features. One thing as a new build do need to improve there cleanliness standards to get all the new build dust out of the room. Great location and tge resturant they paired with for breakfast was really good. PPengguna TetamuWe stayed here during our trip to Datong and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is very clean, despite spotting a few small cockroaches (probably due to the recent rain). The staff is always kind and helpful, ready to assist with any request. The location is perfect for exploring the city, and the services provided are excellent — including a surprisingly good espresso coffee!
Highly recommended for those looking for comfort, friendly service, and a strategic location.

Our kids were thrilled, and we were able to relax knowing they were happily playing nearby. The setup was perfect for our family, allowing us to rest while still keeping an eye on the little ones.
Liu, in particular, was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. She went above and beyond to assist us, even arranging a smooth transfer to the train station when we checked out.
The hotel itself was excellent: modern, clean, and very comfortable. Its central location made it easy for us to explore the city without hassle. We highly recommend this place for families looking for convenience, comfort, and outstanding hospitality!

PPengguna Tetamu民宿位於古城北門附近，很好找。第一天剛到的時候，前台妹妹親自去接，讓我們感受到了温暖和熱情。妹妹引領我們到了民宿還給了我們手寫的地圖，附近好吃好玩的寫的很詳細，還提前問我們第二天大概幾點吃早飯，給我們備餐，真是很周到。備餐的姐姐手藝也超好，手擀麪我念念不忘，真是比外面的老柴好吃多了。由於鳳臨閣，龍聚祥都太難搶了，妹妹還告訴我龍聚祥有外賣，我們點了在餐廳吃到了，也是沒有遺憾了。

PPSOCWe were warmly greeted by friendly staff upon arrival, making us feel welcome right away. The check-in process was quick and smooth, and the team went the extra mile to help us register on their app as we are foreigners, ensuring we could easily access Wi-Fi and contact them if needed.
We had called ahead to request a humidifier and air purifier, and were pleased to find them already prepared in our room when we checked in. The room itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure, and the inclusion of an electric toilet with a heated seat was a thoughtful touch, especially during the winter season.
Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered was genuinely helpful and sincere in their service, always making sure we were well taken care of. We initially planned to stay from 6/12/24 to 8/12/24 but felt so at home that we decided to extend our stay for an additional two days.
A big thank you to the team at Mecure Hotel for their exceptional service and attention to detail. Me and my Husband had agreed this is best hotel in our 17 days China trip. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning in the future. Great job!

All of the staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel has a beautiful warm feel to it, our room was charming, very comfortable, soft bed, lovely linen and pillows, plenty of room for our luggage, places to sit, great tv and even a warm loo seat and great shower. Plus a magnificent breakfast spread and laundry facilities too. They even have their own special tea.
Great location - close to the wall entrance across the road and not far to walk to good restaurants. Close to public transport also.
Thanks for having us. We won't hesitate to recommend to our family and friends.
