"The hygiene, environment, facilities, and service were all great. The breakfast was very rich, and they have their own restaurant where you can also order lunch and dinner. It's only about a 15-minute walk to the ancient city wall, or less than 10 yuan by taxi. What's especially convenient is that you can take bus No. 17 from either side of the hotel to the Yungang Grottoes (get off at the last stop, then walk a bit further to catch bus No. 3 from its starting point to its end point). I personally think this is more convenient than driving and cheaper than taking a taxi. After visiting Yungang, you can take a scenic shuttle from where you got off to Huayan Temple for 10 yuan per person. For Yungang, it's essential to hire a guide; you can form a group of 8 people to split the cost, which makes the guide fee more affordable. All in all, Datong is a wonderful city."

"We booked the Embassy Suite for a night. The room was very spacious, and the beds were comfortable and clean. However, the toiletries and amenities (no fridge for example) are very dated. The staff were very nice and welcoming and the location is perfect, very close to the old city and easy to get in and out of Datong. If they would maintain the rooms a bit this can be a great stay."

"The room was spacious and bright, the hotel environment was quite nice, the surroundings were quiet, taxis were readily available, and there were convenience stores and fruit and vegetable shops nearby, making it convenient and quick to buy things."

"Riding bikes to the volcano with friends, we habitually returned to Nuanyan Hot Spring. It felt like coming home again! We had a delicious farmhouse-style stew for lunch at the hotel, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. In the afternoon, we played mahjong together, and in the evening, we sang songs in the courtyard. This time, the courtyard had so many changes, with lots of new flowers and greenery planted, and even more rocking chairs. Every visit brings new and delightful surprises!"

"The hotel was new and the rooms were clean, but the service was terrible! We arrived at the front desk at night, and there were three or four staff members standing there laughing and joking. After I showed my ID, they told me that someone had already checked me in?! It turned out that after a long discussion, they realized it was because a man with the same name as me had booked the same room type, and they gave him the room I had booked in advance (I had noted that I didn't want the last room and wanted it away from the elevator)?! Such a big hotel?! Don't they even check the information when registering guests? The phone numbers are different, and the genders are different too?! While I was standing at the front desk late at night waiting for them to resolve the issue, the receptionist kept yelling about what to do about the man's booking?! Where was I supposed to stand?! She didn't even apologize, and she was yelling at me about the wrong booking!! Am I supposed to fix her problem? Is this how you train your staff for such a big hotel? And this is supposed to be number one on the luxury list? Is this the level of service you're providing? Don't tell me it's because there are too many guests during the Chinese New Year. If you're so busy during the holidays, how could you make a mistake checking guest information? After making me stand for at least ten minutes, they finally gave me a room. They even gave me a last-minute room near the elevator! When I saw this, I called the front desk, and they said, "Oh, all the rooms you booked are last-minute rooms?" Why didn't you write on the booking page that all City View Suites are last-minute rooms? It felt like the staff didn't know what they were doing; the service was completely disproportionate to the hotel's quality! Oh, and by the way, the laundry room was closed during the New Year period, and they didn't mention this at all when I messaged customer service during booking. 😃 The score is for cleanliness and hotel infrastructure; service is zero."

Garden Hotel

"Block B is separate from the main building; you have to go through the parking lot to reach the backyard. Someone helps with luggage during check-in, but you're on your own for check-out. The exterior looks a bit old, but the room facilities are complete. However, due to its age, it's inevitable to find some mold stains in the bathroom corners – germaphobes beware. The hotel provides children's amenities and fresh fruit every night, plus a humidifier. Since we were out all day and only returned late, we didn't find it particularly noisy."

The bedding felt like sleeping on clouds, and the separate wet/dry bathroom design was absolutely perfect. Every detail exuded a light luxury vibe; staying here felt like a top-tier reward for both body and mind~ 🌟 The location is super convenient, close to everything. It was easy to get to popular foodie spots and explore the ancient city's attractions. The hotel service was also excellent; they helped with luggage storage, and there was even traditional clothing available for a fun experience!"
