酒店位置絕佳，古城內，東南邑中心，旁邊毗鄰著名的沙棘冰激凌和佛小伴店，關帝廟走不到10分鐘，善化寺打車6分鐘，華嚴寺打車8分鐘，酒店斜對面就是東南邑里最高吃的小店“張張蔬食”，晚上出去衚衕滿樹的紅燈籠，無比愜意鬆弛。
酒店服務主打一個暖心，早飯有小米遼參、刀削麪、烤小黃魚、小排骨、手撕雞、鮮榨各種汁、咖啡牛奶熱乎乎的豆漿，菜品精緻量足誠意滿滿，主打讓你餓不着。晚上在院子裏盪鞦韆，帥氣的男服務員路過看到，笑眯眯走過來：晚上外面涼，如果您覺得冷，我給您端一杯熱水吧！糟糕，怎麼回事，中年老婦女的心動——老公都沒對這麼好啊🥹晚上另一位大眼睛英俊男服務員禮貌敲門：您好，給您送一下今天的晚湯，剛熬出來的有點熱，小朋友注意不要被燙到哈。嚶🥹一壺膳魔師+兩個可愛的小碗端進來，可是我白天已經吃了好多好多了，下午回房間還有滿滿一盤子堅果、小點心和話梅汁？深深感到酒店就怕我餓着😂，必須餵飽。
設施：簡潔、優美、實用，二層晚上古城夜景絕美，洗髮水是我自己家用的牌子，熟悉的味道。格外要説一下浴衣和其他酒店的毛巾感不同，穿着超級舒服（孩子很喜歡）。送了一包蒸汽眼罩，還有浴球、面膜、浴巾、一次性內衣毛巾等一系列、漱口水，第一天的沒用第二天仍然接着送……默默奉獻發光發熱。
最後一天臨走上了車，送了一個大袋子（驚喜！）包裏都是各種特產。😭孩子説太鬆弛太舒服了以後還想來。
忙碌的人們都來被狠狠照顧和治癒一下吧！

KKatrin SauthoffMy husband and I are a couple from Germany. We booked two nights there, and our decision was absolutely the right one. From the initial contact (via the WeChat app, which is essential for your entire trip to China) to our departure, everything was perfect. We were picked up from the train station by car and taken to the hotel free of charge. This is especially good for Western tourists who don't speak Chinese. The first problem would have been explaining to the taxi where we wanted to go. The lobby and rooms are very beautiful, stylish, and equipped with the highest technology. Most of the guest rooms face the inner courtyard, so you can sleep very quietly and comfortably. The beds are very large and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent. It's located on the northern edge of the Ancient City of Datong, just a few minutes' walk from the tourist attractions and the colorful and lively old town. So you can enjoy it without being disturbed by noise. I would especially like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately, we don't speak Chinese, and the staff didn't speak English, but with the help of modern communication tools (language apps), we understood each other perfectly. Every request was fulfilled. There's even the option to use a washing machine in the basement of the hotel. This is especially fantastic for tourists on longer trips to China, as it allows for easy laundry. If you ever come back to China, we will definitely book this hotel again.

GGoh Wee KengA gem of a 民宿 located within the Datong old city walls. Conveniently located next to a plethora of good eats including 喜晋道 and the ever popular 霸王茶姬，the friendly yet non-intrusive service staff provided excellent service throughout of 4 day stay. Engaging their 商务车 for 2 days to explore around Datong was a great decision as the staff service extended to having hot beverages, biscuits and fruits ready for us coming in from the cold weather. The same service extends to breakfast for which a spread of home cooked dishes are made fresh daily. A great stay and highly recommended.

XXiongpapa在大同停留一晚，選擇在京西別院，民宿位置不在古城核心區，但距離代王府和九龍壁比較近。停車場就在民宿入口旁邊，從停車場可以直接進入民宿地下二層，配有電梯（民宿地上有兩層，地下有兩層，感覺是小別墅的佈局）。環境佈置比較雅緻，地下二層是餐廳和茶室，早餐還不錯，量足，菜品搭配合理，有粥有奶有餛飩。房間不算大，衞生和設施都符合預期。但是，民宿給我的房間不是我在訂房時在網上看到的房間（一共10張圖片，民宿把有側窗能看到院裏景色的房間放了9張，衹有最後一張放的是沒有側窗，衹有天窗的房間）。兩個房間入住體驗感差別比較大，真心建議民宿在網上放圖片時，不要誤導客人。同時，在給客人安排房間前，提前説清楚情況，而不是僅僅發一個視頻或圖片，不做任何解釋説明。旅行就是為了體驗不同地方的美好，在這份美好中，人文佔了很大一部分。希望民宿在服務方面有所改進，越做越好。

RRS OverseasReally love this hotel, great room, great bed, and great hospitality from the three ladies who run the hotel. Local breakfast style is satisfying. We spent 3nights here and would stay here again. I hope to return to visit XuanKong Hanging Temple ( unfortunately closed for maintenance during my stay) so I only visited Yungang Grottoes, amazing.
Datong is a lovely ancient city with lots of its local charm.
The whole ancient town area is within walking distance. Strolling in the night market ( located in Dongnan Yi, just a short distance further from the nine dragon wall) in the evening through the night lights is a very pleasant.

YYeryeryEvery detail of this hotel was top notch! It was our first time in Datong, and staying at pingcheng hotel was one of the best decision we made! From the moment you arrive they greet you with a welcome drinks and fruits! The foot bath service felt amazing after a long day walking around the grottoes. The hotel is located in the quieter quarter of the ancient city. I would totally go back to stay at this hotel! They even got us a bag of Shanxi souvenirs!💖
The only thing I'd recommend to improve would be the breakfast selection. Adding cheese & ham and some other continental breakfast option would be great for foreign tourists.

The hospitality was exceptional — every staff member was polite, attentive, and genuinely caring. Their attention to detail made the experience truly memorable, from the thoughtful room touches to the warm service at every interaction. The team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
The breakfast was another highlight, with a wonderful selection of freshly prepared dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented.
A perfect blend of culture, comfort, and heartfelt service — Sunyata Datong is truly a gem and highly recommended for anyone visiting Datong

MMethilanI spent nearly a week at Datong Milan/Magnolia Hotel (Dai Residence branch) and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay
Location:
- Nestled a quieter part of the ancient city, that provided a peaceful retreat after each day of exploring.
- 10 minutes to some of the attractions of the old town
- 15-20 minute walk to the popular restaurants and more attractions
- 30 minute walk to Huayan Temple and its nearby street markets.
I'm always happy to walk but if needed, I could always use DiDi to take me around.
Falling asleep without street noise is something I like. There is a bit of building work going nearby, which is happening all over Datong Ancient City, but nothing too major.
Nearby is the Ancient City's wall, but walk past that and you can see the locals dance in the morning in the park or walk along the canal/moat in the evening.
Room:
The room was surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax, a welcome change from cramped city accommodations. The staircase is a bit narrow, so those with lots of big luggage might struggle (no lift)
Importantly, it was very clean and well equipped. I especially liked the Chinese tea ceremony set!
Service:
- Despite a noticeable language barrier, everyone went above and beyond with smiles, helpful gestures, and clear efforts to communicate.
- Especially the manager, who told me about local food to try, things to do and asked if I needed anything. She noticed that I was bringing back leftovers from the restaurant, and bottled drinks from the shops, and said I could use the fridge.
- I can't speak Chinese so when the delivery driver came to drop off my order, the staff will take it from the reception and bring it to me.
- Unfortunately, breakfast isn't available here
- Drinking water topped up. Humidifier and mosquito repellent were provided when needed.
I will not hesitate to book here again on my next visit and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking comfort and genuine warmth in Datong!

JJamesnzGreat hotel in the old town near the city wall. The staff are polite and helpful with any issues and they washed my laundry for me free of charge. That is really kind of them.
The room is nice and bed is comfortable, I liked the balcony to sit on and eat my dinner. However the walls are quite thin and can hear room neighbours and people in corridor talking and watching TV. Unfortunately they only have disposable towels, I would prefer to use the real towels. The shower is extremely difficult to figure out how to use!
Otherwise it is a really good stay, I would be happy to come back and stay again when I return to Datong next time. Thank you.

EewanwanI stayed at Ibis in Datong, and this time the room felt noticeably more spacious compared to other Ibis hotels.
As always, I choose Ibis (Huazhu Group) whenever I travel in China—it gives me a strong sense of reliability and peace of mind.
The non-smoking room is still my favorite—clean, fresh, and free of any unpleasant smells.
The bed is soft and comfortable, and the bedsheets feel great. I always sleep well here.
The breakfast was surprisingly good, definitely better than expected for a budget hotel.
The location is convenient, not too far from the main areas.
I also really liked Datong as a city—people are sincere and very willing to help.
The local tourist shuttle system is well organized, so there’s usually no need to hire a private car.
Overall, it was a very comfortable stay. I would definitely stay here again.
这是大同ibis，，ibis房间很大，早餐不会难吃，很好。下次还是会入住。地点不会太偏僻。我每次去中国一定选择华住会的ibis，应为安心。最最最喜欢无烟房。床很柔软软，床单舒服。我很喜欢大同这个城市人很真诚乐意帮助。大同直通车旅游做的很好基本不太需要包车。
今回、大同のイビスに宿泊しましたが、他のイビスと比べて部屋がやや広く、より快適に感じられました。
中国に行く際は、いつも華住会グループのイビスを利用しています。安心して泊まれる点が気に入っています。
特に気に入っているのは禁煙ルームで、匂いがなく清潔でとても快適に過ごせます。
ベッドも柔らかくて寝心地が良く、シーツの肌触りも良いので、毎回ぐっすり眠れます。
朝食も思ったより良く、ビジネスホテルとしては十分満足できる内容でした。
立地もそれほど不便ではなく、移動もしやすいです。
また、大同という街自体もとても良い印象で、人が親切で、困ったときにも助けてくれる雰囲気があると感じました。
観光用の直通バスも整っており、個人で車を手配しなくても十分観光できます。
全体的にとても快適で、また利用したいと思います。
