RRidel VillaruelWe stayed at The Manila Hotel as a couple with one infant and had a very positive experience. The staff were extremely accommodating and attentive, the facilities felt grand and culturally rich rather than modern, and the location is central, great for nearby parks but challenging due to Manila traffic. The highlight was the breakfast, which was outstanding and easily the best complimentary hotel breakfast I’ve had.

Parking: A Major Inconvenience The process for securing complimentary parking is excessively complicated and needs to be streamlined. For a 5-night stay, having to follow these steps every single day was truly exhausting and time-consuming: Validate the ticket at the Front Desk for complimentary status. Go to the Parking Cashier for a zero-value receipt. Surrender this receipt at the parking exit. This multi-step, daily requirement detracts significantly from the convenience expected of a hotel in this category, and I urge management to simplify it for long-term guests. Front Desk & Check-In Issues Service at the Front Desk also presented some challenges: The check-in process was not smooth and took longer than expected. I often had to wait for an extended period for the front desk to answer my phone calls, which was frustrating when trying to resolve issues or make simple requests. Value for Money The breakfast buffet, while excellent, is priced quite high, making it feel less like a value-add and more like an excessive cost for those paying in addition to their room rate. Overall: The quality of the breakfast is great, but the cumbersome parking procedure and the inconsistent front desk service created daily friction that significantly impacted the overall comfort and convenience of my extended stay.

First, I would like to highly commend Ms. Zsan for her outstanding service. After being assigned to a room that, while clean, had an unpleasant odor, I approached the front desk again for assistance. Ms. Zsan handled the situation with genuine care and professionalism. She went beyond simply checking the system—she actively coordinated with housekeeping via radio to personally verify room availability. Her initiative, attentiveness, and willingness to help truly define excellent customer service. She made us feel heard and valued, and her dedication reflects the kind of frontline service that leaves a lasting positive impression. On the other hand, I would like to offer constructive feedback regarding my experience with Ms. Acel. As a guest, first impressions matter, and my initial interaction with her during check-in was not very reassuring. When I inquired about the possibility of being assigned to a newly renovated room, I was informed that none were available, without much effort to further check or explore options. This gave me the impression that my request was not fully considered. The following day, when I needed to extend my stay, I spoke with her over the phone and requested an update regarding my concern, emphasizing the urgency as I needed to secure the current room rate online. However, after waiting for around 30 minutes without any callback, I had to follow up myself. During the follow-up, she asked for details I had already communicated earlier, which made it seem like the information was not properly noted or attended to. On the third day, I needed to extend my booking again. To avoid the same experience, I went directly to the front desk. Unfortunately, she was again the one available. Despite my previous experience, I still chose to give her another chance, hoping for a better interaction. However, the experience remained the same. Because of this, instead of extending my stay further, I decided to transfer to another hotel. I hope this feedback is received constructively. Frontline staff play a crucial role in shaping the overall guest experience. While Ms. Zsan demonstrated exceptional service and professionalism, there is an opportunity for improvement in consistency, attentiveness, and proactive assistance. With the right focus on these areas, guest satisfaction can be greatly enhanced.

PPengguna TetamuStayed here 9 nights in a Deluxe Twin Room on the 14th floor and overall it was very good value for money (paid about 2131 AED for the stay). 👍 Highlights Staff – Easily the best part of this hotel. Everyone was extremely polite, friendly and genuinely helpful throughout the stay. That level of hospitality really stood out and made a big difference. Cleanliness – The room was kept clean every day and housekeeping did a very good job maintaining it. Breakfast buffet – Surprisingly good variety. They had fresh omelettes made to order, pancakes, waffles, sausages, bacon, cereals and other options. The flavors leaned more toward Western breakfast styles so it didn’t fully match my Indian palate, but it was still a solid breakfast with plenty to choose from. The Mongolian rice was actually excellent. Location for convenience – The hotel is right in the Binondo / Chinatown area, with plenty of restaurants around. There’s also a Starbucks and a nice café just steps from the hotel, plus an Anytime Fitness nearby. For my work it was very convenient. ⚠️ Things That Could Improve Check-in process – I arrived around 10am hoping for early check-in, but still had to wait until the standard 3pm check-in time, which was a bit frustrating after a long trip. Facilities feel dated – Some things like the hair dryer, TV and especially the gym equipment feel quite old and could definitely use an upgrade. AC issues – The air-conditioning was slightly unpredictable at night. Not a big issue but you could wake up at 4 AM sweating🫢 Room service food – Not great. I ordered a chocolate lava cake that looked nice with two scoops of ice cream but the cake itself was quite bitter. Minibar – Completely empty, which was surprising especially since the hotel takes a 10,000 peso deposit at check-in. 📍 Area There are lots of food options nearby and the location is convenient, but the area can feel a bit rough late at night, so I preferred staying indoors after dark. Final Thoughts Overall I’d say about 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4, mainly because the staff were genuinely excellent and the stay was good value for money. Would I stay here again? Yes — for the value and the staff. I’d just probably skip room service next time.

AAcconsI stayed at Rizal Park Hotel for 2 nights during Holy Week. Overall, I would rate it 3/5. The room was spacious, which I appreciated, but you can already tell that the property is quite old. The bathroom was clean, but not to a high standard. The buffet breakfast needs improvement. On Friday, the main options were sardines and danggit, while the rest of the dishes felt more like lunch meals such as adobo. There were no usual breakfast items like bacon, hotdog, or tocino. On Saturday, there was tapa and tuyo, but again, most of the spread leaned toward lunch dishes like chicken afritada. It did not meet our expectations for a proper breakfast. During checkout, we were informed about a stain on the bedsheet. We disputed this since we did not eat or drink anything in the room. When they showed us the photo, the stain looked old and was located at the far end of the sheet, almost hidden. After a few minutes, they agreed not to charge us. The hotel is okay for a short stay, but I would not choose to stay here again.

CChekumiGot in our room around 2:30 pm. They seem to be really strict with early check-in unlike most hotels where you can get free early check-in from 12-1 pm. Easy to past time since mall is very accessible. Location is superb. Perfect for Binondo foodtrip. Room is nice for its price, but bathroom shower area can use some improvement. Jacuzzi and sauna area smells and doesn’t seem to be regularly cleaned. Feels unsanitary so we didn’t bother using it even if we wanted to. Wish they had a swimming pool.

CCoach AndreThe Grand opera Hotel is very good located near by a metro station to be more flexible to go somewhere else. Bed and room a comfortable and good service. Breakfast is not much dishes to choose and the coffee is not very strong. The hotel personal is very kind and helpful. I can recommend this hotel for short travel.

The best part of this hotel is the location within Intramuros. Despite the hot and humid weather, I was able to walk to key sites withing Intramuros. The reception seemed to lack in its tour arranging ability, but I was able to charter a TukTuk at a nearby museum, to go all the way to Malacañan Palace area.
