For us, Thaala Bentota is one of the best, if not the best beach front hotel in Bentota, Sri Lanka. It is a family friendly hotel that we used to visit regularly from its inception. It was then known as the ‘Hotel Serendib’ . Our children loved it when they were little, especially the long sandy beach and the swimming pools. They are now grown up, blessed with children on their own. We are now retired grandparents; we find the hotel has not lost its old charm, so we still love visiting this hotel whenever we get an opportunity to spend few quiet days and peaceful nights and most importantly to recollect our precious golden memories for over 3 decades. 4 th visit to this excellent hotel - staff are super friendly and observant and nothing is too much trouble. We had arrived and encountered aircon problems on day 1 late on. Management tried to sort problem unsuccessfully and offered another room until they could look at repairs following day- we opted to take a fan and wait 24 hours - the problem unfortunately couldnt be fixed and we were moved - to a lower grade room which in fact turned out to be a better refurbished / decorated room - absolutely superb. It was like a show room. Staff were amazing - checking all was ok - likewise in the Palm restaurant Sam our breakfast waiter was brilliant - he treated us like royalty. And our room attendant Samon was very diligent and polite. Sri Lanka has been through a difficult time these last 3 years - however if the quality of the way people are treated in this resort is anything to go by - then they will get through the troubles.

Great beach hotel - made excellent by the quality of food, but more so by the outstanding quality, caring and customer attention of the Staff at the tuna thunders The beach and atmosphere are very glamorous and beautiful... The Food and beverage manager Mr Liyanage goes to each table and talks with guests to know whether they are happy. He was very professional and nicely taken care of us yesterday.. While we were talking to him only got to know that it was his Very first day at work... But he was very impressive.. By the way, we will definitely visit this place...the mud Crab curry and bread was our favorite and pizza very quality.... The executive Chef was very hospitable and talked with all the guests and he ensured everyone was happy...

4 th visit to this excellent hotel - staff are super friendly and observant and nothing is too much trouble. We had arrived and encountered aircon problems on day 1 late on. Management tried to sort problem unsuccessfully and offered another room until they could look at repairs following day- we opted to take a fan and wait 24 hours - the problem unfortunately couldnt be fixed and we were moved - to a lower grade room which in fact turned out to be a better refurbished / decorated room - absolutely superb. It was like a show room. Staff were amazing - checking all was ok - likewise in the Palm restaurant Sam our breakfast waiter was brilliant - he treated us like royalty. And our room attendant Samon was very diligent and polite. Sri Lanka has been through a difficult time these last 3 years - however if the quality of the way people are treated in this resort is anything to go by - then they will get through the troubles.

It was like a show room. Staff were amazing - checking all was ok - likewise in the Palm restaurant Sam our breakfast waiter was brilliant - he treated us like royalty. And our room attendant Samon was very diligent and polite. Sri Lanka has been through a difficult time these last 3 years - however if the quality of the way people are treated in this resort is anything to go by - then they will get through the troubles.

جميل إلى حد ما والبوفيه متوسط يحتاج إلى مزيد من الخيارات ، الغرف واسعه وجميله وفيها بلكونه وشطاف والعزل جيد .. عامل النظافه sugath كان ممتاز ورائع وخدوم 👍👍👍بجانب هذا الفندق العديد من الفنادق المميزة والعديد من النشاطات البحرية 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Room was big and cleaned when asked.staff are really friendly.breakfast was a bit repetative but nice.on the whole it was a good stay and right by the beach.could do with a bit of renovation but I think covid hit badly and they are struggling.
