"We planned to stay overnight here, but, unfortunately, I was taken seriously ill and had to be taken to the hospital by the emergency services (nothing to do with the hotel!). Our French was limited, but Laurent, the Directeur, was kind, considerate and supportive, helping to translate between us and the emergency services and then looking after my wife during a very stressful two days. We cannot thank the staff enough and were made extremely welcome by everyone. When we return to Bethune, we will definitely stay here again."

"Second time staying at the Eden. The location can't be faulted in Bethune, right in the city centre, 50 metres away for all the bars and restaurants, the rooms (55EUR) are excellent and great vale, the breakfast offers a great choice for 10EUR The hotel comes into its own if you are on bikes, the owners let you park you bikes for free in their courtyard. However on this visit, my bike was in need of attention having been through 6 days of hard riding in the Alps. From our previous visit I was aware that the owner was a motorcycle dealer in a past life and was hoping he would be able to point my in the right direction to get my bike fixed, to my delight he just stated working on the bike! Fixed with no charge - absolutely exceptional service. Can't recommend the Eden highly enough."

"I’m really not sure how to review this one night stay. The room itself once we finally got in, was decent. Good shower, very comfy bed, good location, good parking. However, we turned up just before 6pm and we got into our room around 8.15pm. During the middle part of this, we got very wet trying to get a reply from the ‘hotel’ buzzer, spent a lot of money on phone calls to the ‘owner/manager’ and thought a lot about where else we could stay overnight because we were clearly not going to get into the hotel we had booked. It was a complete mess. No response from the buzzer and no response from the 2 phone numbers we were given. Having made 20+ calls, we eventually got a call back with lots of (quite complex) instructions on how to get our key, where the room was located (different location) and - specifically because I asked how to get through the gate of the new location - an explanation as to how to actually get into the car park entrance to our room. This really isn’t what you want for a one night stay when you’ve driven 300 miles that day. Breakfast is not a buffet - as advertised when we booked - but a few random bits in your room. I have no idea if these are changed for the next guest. Trip.com couldn’t or wouldn’t help - I’m really not sure - and the owner was not contactable. I’ve had no apology since. The explanation we were given as we stood outside in the rain was that the person ‘had been in a meeting’. They may need to review their reception processes. The reason I’m not giving this a one-star review is because the person who finally rang us to tell us what to do, was lovely and the room was pretty good (air con needed, but otherwise a good room)."

"We were two couples and chose Bethune for our pre Christmas trip as there was a Marche de Noel in the Grand Place which was a few minutes walk from the hotel. Reception staff were friendly and professional. We had Superior Double rooms - one was a good size but the other very much smaller. Beds were comfortable and bed lines was good. Wi Fi was intermittent in the rooms but find in the bar area which was close by. The main downside was that on the biggest room overlooked other rooms opposite the courtyard outside which in summer would probably be busy and the other room looked out directly onto the street. This meant we need to keep the curtains closed a lot of the time. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel. "

"This is my first time to Béthune and a short trip. Because the surrounding hotels are fully booked, I really appreciate that the landlord Emilia is willing to provide me with the studio that was originally reserved for old customers, and the price is very favorable. The breakfast was delicious, the surrounding environment was very safe, the room facilities were very complete and comfortable, and the stay was particularly safe. I arrived at 23 o'clock in the evening, and Emilia also came to receive me. I was really caring and thanked her for her patience and care. Thank you very much for this warm stay experience, and I have left a good impression on Béthune 😊"
