City. The hotel staff are very friendly and even fetched us from the train station. Hotel room is spacious and comfortable. I accidentally dropped a ring in the lobby and the staff picked up and returned to me. Very pleasant staff and highly recommended.

PPengguna TetamuThe entire experience is really fantastic. For foreigners coming to China, I would recommend stopping by Datong and staying in this guesthouse. The owner is extremely friendly, providing pick up and drop off service for my family with elderly parents. There is no need to worry about the language barrier as she does her best to make the experience as comfortably as she can. She also sent us to a nearby famous hotpot restaurant. Rose tea and fruits are served every night and her 刀削面 for breakfast is the best I had of all the noodles I ate in China. It’s a very homely feel and I would want to go back again. The bed is very comfortable, with Dyson hair dryer and warm water works well. There is a bidet and elevator in the guesthouse. Wonderful experience and ps: this is not a paid review 😆

PPengguna Tetamu民宿位於古城北門附近，很好找。第一天剛到的時候，前台妹妹親自去接，讓我們感受到了温暖和熱情。妹妹引領我們到了民宿還給了我們手寫的地圖，附近好吃好玩的寫的很詳細，還提前問我們第二天大概幾點吃早飯，給我們備餐，真是很周到。備餐的姐姐手藝也超好，手擀麪我念念不忘，真是比外面的老柴好吃多了。由於鳳臨閣，龍聚祥都太難搶了，妹妹還告訴我龍聚祥有外賣，我們點了在餐廳吃到了，也是沒有遺憾了。

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed here during our trip to Datong and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is very clean, despite spotting a few small cockroaches (probably due to the recent rain). The staff is always kind and helpful, ready to assist with any request. The location is perfect for exploring the city, and the services provided are excellent — including a surprisingly good espresso coffee!
Highly recommended for those looking for comfort, friendly service, and a strategic location.

PPengguna TetamuI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries.
The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included.
The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride.
My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room.
The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily.
If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn.
*I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out.

RR2F2Great 3 night stay. It's a very short Didi ride from DaTong South Railway station. It's right next to the DaTong Ancient City area. It's a close walk but the entrances for the walled city are all in the middle section of each wall. It's walkable but it's also easy to rent a bike or take a 7 rmb Didi to the main area. I couldn't find any convenience stores close but I was ok without them. You can also have things delivered to the hotel and the robot will bring it to your room.
Room was great. Big, clean and comfortable. Pillows were also good. Had a view of the old town which was nice at night. I traveled in April. It was warm in the room because I think only the heat works that time of year. I tried the AC but didn't seem to cool the room. They had two windows you could open. It was around 0C at night so it cools down the room enough to sleep comfortably if you don't like sleeping in a warm room. Shower had strong water pressure. Towels and toiletries good.
The shuttle bus stop is very close to the hotel too. You can take shuttles to some of the tourist attractions outside the city. They shuttles are cheap and convenient. Less than 10 minute walk I think or a 2 minute Didi ride. It's the ”DaTong ancient city” stop.
The buffet breakfast was good. They had a big variety of western, Chinese and local foods to eat. One day breakfast was on the 3rd floor and the other days it was on the 28th floor when it was busier.
They put snacks and fruit everyday. Actually good snacks, I ate all of them everyday. I was also sick with a cough. The worker must have noticed the first day in the hallway. That night when I came back I had a handwritten note and a pear tea to help with my cold. They provided the same the following night. I really appreciated that.
Overall was a great stay. I'd definitely stay there again if I go back to DaTong. I'd recommend staying there.

JJames56We had a happy experience checking in at this hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our room! It was bright and cheerful and spacious. The shower and drainage was very good.
Location is fantastic, near the railway station and many bus services, especially for going to Yungang grottoes. There was a mall, with a hypermarket in the basement and minimarts around.
What we like most was there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use, free of charge!
If we ever come to Datong again, we would stay here. Highly recommend this place!

I stayed for three days and I enjoyed the comfortable and spacious room with its soft floor, the adjustable illumination and the goodies which I received daily as well as the breakfast buffet, which included a variety of Chinese food, salad, fruits, toast, cornflakes, little cakes and freshly made noodle soup.
