PPengguna TetamuThe best stay I’ve ever had in my entire life — and trust me, I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and B&Bs. ;) The rooms are gorgeous, spotless, and super comfortable, with great attention to detail — everything I could possibly need (and more!) was provided. The bathroom even had a Dyson hair dryer, a Kohler heated automatic toilet, and a Hansgrohe faucet! If you’re not familiar with these brands, just know they’re the best you can get. The location is convenient for reaching downtown Datong and various points of interest… but honestly, these technical aspects — which alone would already deserve a 10-star rating — pale in comparison to the warmth and kindness we received from the B&B owners. My friends and I truly felt at home, pampered by Ben, the guy who runs the place with such care and attention to his guests that I’ve never experienced anywhere else (not even in 5-star hotels!). He and his sister picked us up at the station — both speak excellent English (which is not something you can take for granted in China) — and they recommended amazing local restaurants, must-see attractions, and even welcomed us with a lovely gift package of local specialties. For breakfast, Ben’s mother prepared a rich and delicious traditional meal, and for our train trip she even packed homemade bread for us to take along! Datong is a charming city, and if you visit, you absolutely have to stay here!!!

RRodney SungThe auntie manning the hotel is very friendly. Although meals are not included in the booking, she still made us welcome fruits & drinks and even breakfast. Also trying to help us with our tours with a local tour guide. The price for the local tour guide is very reasonable.

PPengguna TetamuThe entire experience is really fantastic. For foreigners coming to China, I would recommend stopping by Datong and staying in this guesthouse. The owner is extremely friendly, providing pick up and drop off service for my family with elderly parents. There is no need to worry about the language barrier as she does her best to make the experience as comfortably as she can. She also sent us to a nearby famous hotpot restaurant. Rose tea and fruits are served every night and her 刀削面 for breakfast is the best I had of all the noodles I ate in China. It’s a very homely feel and I would want to go back again. The bed is very comfortable, with Dyson hair dryer and warm water works well. There is a bidet and elevator in the guesthouse. Wonderful experience and ps: this is not a paid review 😆

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed here during our trip to Datong and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is very clean, despite spotting a few small cockroaches (probably due to the recent rain). The staff is always kind and helpful, ready to assist with any request. The location is perfect for exploring the city, and the services provided are excellent — including a surprisingly good espresso coffee! Highly recommended for those looking for comfort, friendly service, and a strategic location.

PPengguna Tetamu民宿位於古城北門附近，很好找。第一天剛到的時候，前台妹妹親自去接，讓我們感受到了温暖和熱情。妹妹引領我們到了民宿還給了我們手寫的地圖，附近好吃好玩的寫的很詳細，還提前問我們第二天大概幾點吃早飯，給我們備餐，真是很周到。備餐的姐姐手藝也超好，手擀麪我念念不忘，真是比外面的老柴好吃多了。由於鳳臨閣，龍聚祥都太難搶了，妹妹還告訴我龍聚祥有外賣，我們點了在餐廳吃到了，也是沒有遺憾了。

MMethilanI spent nearly a week at Datong Milan/Magnolia Hotel (Dai Residence branch) and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay Location: - Nestled a quieter part of the ancient city, that provided a peaceful retreat after each day of exploring. - 10 minutes to some of the attractions of the old town - 15-20 minute walk to the popular restaurants and more attractions - 30 minute walk to Huayan Temple and its nearby street markets. I'm always happy to walk but if needed, I could always use DiDi to take me around. Falling asleep without street noise is something I like. There is a bit of building work going nearby, which is happening all over Datong Ancient City, but nothing too major. Nearby is the Ancient City's wall, but walk past that and you can see the locals dance in the morning in the park or walk along the canal/moat in the evening. Room: The room was surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax, a welcome change from cramped city accommodations. The staircase is a bit narrow, so those with lots of big luggage might struggle (no lift) Importantly, it was very clean and well equipped. I especially liked the Chinese tea ceremony set! Service: - Despite a noticeable language barrier, everyone went above and beyond with smiles, helpful gestures, and clear efforts to communicate. - Especially the manager, who told me about local food to try, things to do and asked if I needed anything. She noticed that I was bringing back leftovers from the restaurant, and bottled drinks from the shops, and said I could use the fridge. - I can't speak Chinese so when the delivery driver came to drop off my order, the staff will take it from the reception and bring it to me. - Unfortunately, breakfast isn't available here - Drinking water topped up. Humidifier and mosquito repellent were provided when needed. I will not hesitate to book here again on my next visit and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking comfort and genuine warmth in Datong!

JJames56We had a happy experience checking in at this hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our room! It was bright and cheerful and spacious. The shower and drainage was very good. Location is fantastic, near the railway station and many bus services, especially for going to Yungang grottoes. There was a mall, with a hypermarket in the basement and minimarts around. What we like most was there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use, free of charge! If we ever come to Datong again, we would stay here. Highly recommend this place!

MM45339****這家酒店真的太棒了👏🌟👏本人很少評價，但是遇到這麼好的酒店，必須要評價一下，服務非常周到細緻，我們帶着孩子來爬恆山，服務小姐姐介紹的也非常全面，而且酒店大廳還有免費的咖啡，沖好的茶，還有針線包，隔音耳塞，一看就是非常的用心了，衞生間也非常乾淨，而且洗澡下水也很棒，在這裏還要推薦一下酒店的洗髮水真的是相當的好用，我想問問是什麼品牌的，我自己也買點用，我們退房時，因為錯過了飯點，我有點餓的難受，小姐姐還要給我找吃的，讓我太感動了，這家酒店不論是設施，還是服務真的是相當棒🌹推薦大家來渾源旅遊的一定要住這家酒店

One thing as a new build do need to improve there cleanliness standards to get all the new build dust out of the room. Great location and tge resturant they paired with for breakfast was really good.
