"The explanation about the additional charges at the site was unhelpful, which caused some trouble. Trip.com made a reservation for 5 people, 3 adults, 1 junior high school student and 1 elementary school student, and the information on the meal plan was for 4 people, so we ordered an additional meal for 1 child. When we arrived at the facility, the agent told us that the reservation was for 4 people on *******, so we showed them the reservation screen to confirm that the reservation site was different and that the reservation was for 5 people. They said they understood the reservation details, so we asked how much the additional meal cost was, but we didn't get a clear answer at that point, and when we checked out, they said that there was no additional setting for meals only, so the regular price for 1 night and 2 meals (higher than the price via trip.com) would be the same price, but we were told that it was okay. No, no, we were only planning to pay for the additional child's meal, but there was no setting, so it would end up being more expensive, but they didn't answer when we asked, and we were told at checkout. It's not a facility with the latest equipment, but we enjoyed the hot springs, the room, and the food, so it was disappointing to leave the inn in an unpleasant mood."

"Excellent experience at a traditional ryokan! I gave 4/5 stars for location because there are no particular views (it's right in the middle of the town), but the other features more than compensate for this. All the staff we met were very courteous and professional. Meals were traditional and introduced us to many interesting dishes. Onsens were small but since this hotel only has eight room, they are never crowded. Also the onsens are open through the night which I especially appreciated."

"The hotel is a bit dated. The rooms are very spacious. With the traditional Japanese room, you sleep on the floor. We had a room with a bathtub, but the bath is located elsewhere in the hotel. "With a bathtub" means you have 45 minutes to use the bath privately. The rooms are very clean. The staff is super friendly and does everything they can to help. I do find the price for a room to be on the high side."

"Cost-cutting measures were noticeable. I went to the hot springs two minutes before 3:30 PM, as I was told it would be open then, but it was pitch black. I returned to my room, contacted the front desk, and they turned on the lights. I was staying in what was advertised as the only suite in the building, so I expected to have breakfast there as well as dinner, but I was with a family with children and it wasn't very relaxing. I wish they had at least provided private dining rooms for meals on the special suite floor. The evacuation route map posted on the room door was also from before the renovation. Dinner was delicious, with local ingredients skillfully prepared."

"I made a reservation because the price was cheap and I had points even though it was autumn leaves season. I happened to encounter a marathon and encountered traffic restrictions, but I was able to go where I wanted to go. The meals were served in the room, were delicious, and I was alone, so I ate a lot. I had the hot spring almost to myself, so I went in three times. The building is old, but I couldn't hear the voices of the people next door."

"Thank you very much for your help. It's been a long time since we went on a family trip, and it happened to be my husband's birthday, so it was a great memory. The hot water had a strong sulfur smell and felt like a hot spring. The food was also exceptional, with delicate and elegant plates made from local ingredients from Nagano that were a feast for the eyes. "I stayed here for one night on my way home. The hotel is located in a traditional hot spring town, and has a calming atmosphere that evokes a sense of nostalgia. The hot spring was spacious, and the water was very warming. It felt like my body was completely relaxed, and I was able to completely relieve the fatigue of my travels. There was also a very good liquor store near the hotel, with a wide selection of local sake and rare brands, so I had no trouble choosing souvenirs. "It was quite a long time ago, but my mother used to work at Ueda-kan, so this was my first time using it. I think that when my mother worked there, it wasn't part of the Itoen Hotel group yet. I don't know if it was due to a staff shortage, but when I checked in and entered my room, the futon was already laid out. I've stayed at many different places before, but this was the first time I'd experienced something like that. The buffet had a wide variety of food and was delicious."
